  1. I'm glad it took you this long to figure that out. Chad's comment was deleted, so I wonder if that was him or a mod doing some spring cleaning.
  2. Because people leave the park, go to their cars, slam a pint of vodka and come back in. EDIT: Just for the sake of clarity, a mod edited my previous comment, which is a bit troubling, without any PM.
  3. Sure it does. They were probably a group who are using the exit as an entrance, which is totally fine. That particular group not only held up that train by boarding, but also by having a camera out afterwards. So they really slowed up the capacity that hour.
  4. Agreed. Probably on one of the backroads, probably the road that goes down behind the double helix of The Beast, if I'm guessing.
  5. Truth. I've seen cars with water up to their doors in very heavy downpours. The drainage can get backed up which allows the parking lot to flood a little in the lower spots shown.
  6. What if they installed a monorail that went back there to the loading station?!?!?!
  7. The Yellow Path isn't paved the whole way, or at least wasn't in 2011. I know for reasons that I shouldn't from working there.
  8. Skunks, snakes, raccoons, etc are all pretty common in the park. The landscaping department is responsible for trapping them, but they aren't around later in the evening as they start pretty early. There's a big dumpster back in that area behind woodstock and the car ride, which attracts some critters. In terms of the parking lot trash, people in the park are very much the same way, tossing trash in the flower beds, leaving garbage on tables, etc. People treat the park like their own personal garbage can. The park does have a street sweeper run through the parking lot which gets up most of the loose trash. The Park Services crew pull the garbage cans throughout the day.
  9. Prepare to be disappointed then.
  10. Which is really weird, because Diamondback is about the same length!
  11. There was a turnaround up near where the metal detectors currently are. I believe they just did a lap of the main aisle in the parking lot, but could be wrong.
  12. As someone who has attended those rest rooms, you don't want that job, although it is one of the highest paid seasonal positions in the park. Pulling the trash bags is worse than the bathrooms though.
  13. Shaggy, awesome write up. It'll be a few years before I get back out to California, however, my wife and I had an amazing day at Disneyland last July. The park hours are crazy, was so weird to be there from 8 am until 1230am. Expensive, but feel like I got my moneys worth as I literally rode everything I wanted in one day at both parks. Agree with you on the rides. Splash Mountain at Disneyland felt like an hour long ride compared to the one at WDW. Will definitely be back in the future.
  14. I think they could use the same ride system but have a better experience.
  15. I worked there for 6 seasons, it's pretty easy for me. I didn't even get a pass this year, will probably only go once.
  16. I 100% disagree with this. They are going to begin shipping stuff in the not too distant future. They don't have an abudance of space at CSF. There are plenty of places in the park that track could be stored and hidden.
  17. Doesn't appear that anything has been started from Kings Island Drive. I pass by every day.
  18. You realize they could build it on a platform right? Doesn't have to be at ground level.
  19. If you go back and look at @Captain Nemo's photos on the last page. It appears that the steps are staying, but that they might be putting in some footings for a bridge or deck. Otherwise, I'm not seeing anyway of getting handicapped to and from the ride with the steps on the entrance and exit.
  20. @BSBMX that information on the plate will show the steel type, thickness, batch number, probably some other information. Source: I work for a company that uses a ton of sheet metal. As for reusing the old Firehawk queue. The capacity of this thing would eat through that queue in like 30 seconds.
  21. Top Gun was actually planned before Paramount bought the park. They changed the name from Rolling Thunder to Top Gun.
  22. I'm not saying that they made bad choices in rides, but the difference in FoF and a $25M giga are pretty different. CP was getting B&M after B&M in the 90's and we got a themed off the shelf coaster that's been installed in 3 different parks. Not saying they were bad additions, but the fact that Cedar Fair has installed 3 B&Ms now in 11 years is a big difference vs. Paramount.
  23. bEcAuSe ItS nOt A gIgA - Some teenager who didn't get to experience KI installing such great rides like Invertigo, Backlot, and TR:TR.
