  1. They are far more likely to have more responsible guests when they serve alcohol than when they don't. People who want to drink will find a way to do so. When you add barriers to that, they generally drink more. As someone who has cleaned the parking lot many times on Haunt nights, most of those people aren't buying alcohol in the park. There is a reason we used to call it the White Trash Bash.
  2. Whoops. I must have had too many beers since they took them out. Either way, entering and exiting on the same side makes more sense for ADA requirements.
  3. I rode The Beast for the first time in 1996 when I was 9 years old. I was scared of Roller Coasters to that point. I decided I was going to conquer my fears with, at the time, Outer Limits: Flight of Fear. After waiting 2.5 hours for it and seeing the train come back to the station empty, I nearly chickened out, but I sat in it and the rest is history.
  4. The old Antique Cars you enter and exited on the same side. You'll likely get off when you first pull into the station and an associate will pull the car forward to the load position. Nothing to worry about. This thing is going to be a capacity nightmare anyways.
  5. Keep in mind that if the coaster starts where we believe it will (X Base) that clearing started in November.
  6. Landscaping. I drove by at lunch and saw them spreading mulch.
  7. Definitely go during a weekday, if possible, while local schools are still in session. Weekends are a bit of a disaster. Sundays can be not terrible, but Friday and Saturday are generally pretty rough. Plan for 2 days, that way you have time to hit a few of your favorites up a second or third time.
  8. Oh man, I'll never forget that cinematic masterpiece! It was also Happy Days Diner for a short period of time.
  9. I don't think there is much desire to spend time in an amusement park when it's closed, but it wouldn't be super difficult I would think.
  10. If you ever think anything smells bad, try cleaning underneath one of the park dumpsters. Caught a kid in the act of defecating on the floor in the Rivertown restrooms near Larosa's. The most thrilling ride in the park is Top Thrill Astrovan, but you have to be in the select few who have been lucky enough to do so.
  11. All of the bathrooms are given a deep clean at the end of the night, generally the section of the park they are in has been swept through by Security. Very rarely did I see someone after Security had swept the area. In terms of traffic at night, the park can be pretty busy. You have some maintenance personnel around. There are people from Park Services pressure washing, cleaning up the cardboard in the park, etc. Warehouse associates restocking food, beverage, merch, games, etc. Not to mention overnight security.
  12. I've rented through AirBNB multiple times. My friends rents his place out on there. It's a pretty secure system.
  13. What are you getting at here? The seats are designed to fit a majority of people, but there are certainly going to be outliers, such as yourself. It's the best way for them to accommodate a 75 lb child who just hit 54" as well as someone who is 6'4 and 275 lbs. B&M is by far more accommodating than the Intamin rides at Cedar Point.
  14. Driving by this morning, they were testing uplighting that matched the Eiffel Tower. Not sure if they had this at Winterfest or not. The tops of all the buildings were in a deep blue as was the tower on my way into work this morning.
  15. Well you are in an extreme minority then.
  16. Also doing a trip down that way in a few weeks. There are cabins/condos out the wazoo. There is an insane amount of stuff to do in the Pigeon Forge/Gatlingburg area. It's basically a tourist trap, like Myrtle Beach. Lots of cool easy hikes in Smoky Mountain National Park.
  17. A little off topic, but anyone who travels to ride any new ride on Opening Day is asking for trouble.
  18. Adding a second chain adds a lot of complexity. You either have to add another motor to drive the chain or some sort of mechanism to drive the chain. On Steel Dragon they were concerned about the weight of the chain, if I remember correctly.
  19. That bar has been in the stadium and called that for like 4 years.
  20. It's hard to find a good corndog these days, even at sporting events.
  21. Because the park said so and if you guys continue to do as you are instructed not to do, then KIC is no longer going to get the information that they do get. Believe it or not, the people on this forum are a vast minority of the parks guests, nor are they the target guest. Not saying they don't value you as a customer, but giving additional information to KIC is not going to cost them a significant portion of their profits.
  22. Tent camping sites are rarer and rarer these days. Mostly limited to areas near state and national parks. Also, I wonder what this future Kings Island Drive extension is?
