  1. I think they could use the same ride system but have a better experience.
  2. I worked there for 6 seasons, it's pretty easy for me. I didn't even get a pass this year, will probably only go once.
  3. I 100% disagree with this. They are going to begin shipping stuff in the not too distant future. They don't have an abudance of space at CSF. There are plenty of places in the park that track could be stored and hidden.
  4. Doesn't appear that anything has been started from Kings Island Drive. I pass by every day.
  5. You realize they could build it on a platform right? Doesn't have to be at ground level.
  6. If you go back and look at @Captain Nemo's photos on the last page. It appears that the steps are staying, but that they might be putting in some footings for a bridge or deck. Otherwise, I'm not seeing anyway of getting handicapped to and from the ride with the steps on the entrance and exit.
  7. @BSBMX that information on the plate will show the steel type, thickness, batch number, probably some other information. Source: I work for a company that uses a ton of sheet metal. As for reusing the old Firehawk queue. The capacity of this thing would eat through that queue in like 30 seconds.
  8. Top Gun was actually planned before Paramount bought the park. They changed the name from Rolling Thunder to Top Gun.
  9. I'm not saying that they made bad choices in rides, but the difference in FoF and a $25M giga are pretty different. CP was getting B&M after B&M in the 90's and we got a themed off the shelf coaster that's been installed in 3 different parks. Not saying they were bad additions, but the fact that Cedar Fair has installed 3 B&Ms now in 11 years is a big difference vs. Paramount.
  10. bEcAuSe ItS nOt A gIgA - Some teenager who didn't get to experience KI installing such great rides like Invertigo, Backlot, and TR:TR.
  11. I would politely ask if you can have your own row when being seated. The worst they can do is say no.
  12. I've walked up the lift hill of Vortex pretty much to the top when I was working the ride. I've walked up the block brakes of FoF multiple times. Been on lifthill 2 of The Beast.
  13. If you build a dark ride and the main feature is that it's a game in which the targets you shoot trigger things to happen, it's a pretty valid complaint. If you offer something on the menu and it doesn't include part of the description, it's a valid complaint. The other day, I was at Burger King. I ordered an Angry Whopper, they told me they had no jalapenos. I decided to order something else. Had they told him that they had no honey mustard, he probably would have ordered something else.
  14. Amazing resolution. Probably some banners for Grand Carnavale.
  15. Think that confirms that the concrete pad they built was for the Grand Carnivale floats.
  16. Nothing gives me more satisfaction than explaining to a 16 year old, who is likely working their first job ever, why I am upset with my experience.
  17. Agreed, was actually thinking that it might come at the end.
  18. @DustinTheNow that looks really awesome.
  19. If you've never worked at the park, I can assure you, you can never understand how people treat you as an associate.
  20. Nope, in fact, in 2010, there was a massive power outage at the park and I had to help evacuate Congo Falls (as I was in Park Services at the time, not the rides department). @Gordon Bombay the Arrow coasters brakes, if I recall correctly, use an accumulator to maintain air pressure in the pneumatic brakes. The accumulator could have a failure which would cause the brakes to lose their holding power. They use air pressure to close the brakes, instead of open them. Not sure how that is handled on the controller side. Those are the only coasters I'm familiar with though.
  21. It's not. Most rides at Kings Island don't have generators.
  22. Not to mention that the parks on ride videos are generally shot in a far higher quality than your cell phone can do.
  23. They won't. Likely won't see vertical construction start anytime soon.
  24. Not so fast on this one. Kings Island's Action Theater is currently the only one which is SBNO. Wouldn't be surprised to see them re-open it at some point, at least one half.
