Yikes. Not good.

The Yellow Path isn't paved the whole way, or at least wasn't in 2011. I know for reasons that I shouldn't from working there.

Skunks, snakes, raccoons, etc are all pretty common in the park. The landscaping department is responsible for trapping them, but they aren't around later in the evening as they start pretty early. There's a big dumpster back in that area behind woodstock and the car ride, which attracts some critters. In terms of the parking lot trash, people in the park are very much the same way, tossing trash in the flower beds, leaving garbage on tables, etc. People treat the park like their own personal garbage can. The park does have a street sweeper run through the parking lot which gets up most of the loose trash. The Park Services crew pull the garbage cans throughout the day.

Prepare to be disappointed then.

Which is really weird, because Diamondback is about the same length!
-
There was a turnaround up near where the metal detectors currently are. I believe they just did a lap of the main aisle in the parking lot, but could be wrong.

As someone who has attended those rest rooms, you don't want that job, although it is one of the highest paid seasonal positions in the park. Pulling the trash bags is worse than the bathrooms though.

Shaggy, awesome write up. It'll be a few years before I get back out to California, however, my wife and I had an amazing day at Disneyland last July. The park hours are crazy, was so weird to be there from 8 am until 1230am. Expensive, but feel like I got my moneys worth as I literally rode everything I wanted in one day at both parks. Agree with you on the rides. Splash Mountain at Disneyland felt like an hour long ride compared to the one at WDW. Will definitely be back in the future.

How Much Longer For Boo Blasters On Boo Hill?

I think they could use the same ride system but have a better experience. -
DDN: 334-site outdoor resort, RV camping planned near Kings Island
teenageninja replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
I worked there for 6 seasons, it's pretty easy for me. I didn't even get a pass this year, will probably only go once. -
I 100% disagree with this. They are going to begin shipping stuff in the not too distant future. They don't have an abudance of space at CSF. There are plenty of places in the park that track could be stored and hidden.

Doesn't appear that anything has been started from Kings Island Drive. I pass by every day. -
You realize they could build it on a platform right? Doesn't have to be at ground level.

If you go back and look at @Captain Nemo's photos on the last page. It appears that the steps are staying, but that they might be putting in some footings for a bridge or deck. Otherwise, I'm not seeing anyway of getting handicapped to and from the ride with the steps on the entrance and exit.

@BSBMX that information on the plate will show the steel type, thickness, batch number, probably some other information. Source: I work for a company that uses a ton of sheet metal. As for reusing the old Firehawk queue. The capacity of this thing would eat through that queue in like 30 seconds.

Top Gun was actually planned before Paramount bought the park. They changed the name from Rolling Thunder to Top Gun.

I'm not saying that they made bad choices in rides, but the difference in FoF and a $25M giga are pretty different. CP was getting B&M after B&M in the 90's and we got a themed off the shelf coaster that's been installed in 3 different parks. Not saying they were bad additions, but the fact that Cedar Fair has installed 3 B&Ms now in 11 years is a big difference vs. Paramount.

bEcAuSe ItS nOt A gIgA - Some teenager who didn't get to experience KI installing such great rides like Invertigo, Backlot, and TR:TR.

I would politely ask if you can have your own row when being seated. The worst they can do is say no.
-
I've walked up the lift hill of Vortex pretty much to the top when I was working the ride. I've walked up the block brakes of FoF multiple times. Been on lifthill 2 of The Beast.

If you build a dark ride and the main feature is that it's a game in which the targets you shoot trigger things to happen, it's a pretty valid complaint. If you offer something on the menu and it doesn't include part of the description, it's a valid complaint. The other day, I was at Burger King. I ordered an Angry Whopper, they told me they had no jalapenos. I decided to order something else. Had they told him that they had no honey mustard, he probably would have ordered something else.

Amazing resolution. Probably some banners for Grand Carnavale.
-
Think that confirms that the concrete pad they built was for the Grand Carnivale floats.

Nothing gives me more satisfaction than explaining to a 16 year old, who is likely working their first job ever, why I am upset with my experience.

That will never work.
