  1. Good thing this thread is staying on topic. So is it common to keep spare track parts at the roller coaster site rather than a storage shed? Ive noticed this at a few rides in Cedar Point as well.
  2. TR:TR just needs to be torn down and replaced by another flat ride that fits better with the themeing of that area, if anyone is familiar with Riptipe at Knotts Berry Farm its a top spin but more intense and has a water element
  3. I think all the Nick stuff will stay, I even think somewhere down the line Scoobys Haunted Castle will end up being "Danny Phantom's Ghost Attack" or something like that. As for the rides Top Gun will be Thunder Road with a re-themeing and new paint job, TR:TR I agree with Rumor Smasher, they will probably theme it to be some kind of mine ride (if they don't tear it down all together) and I think IJST will just be called The Stunt Track maybe with new trains maybe not. As for Drop Zone and Face Off maybe Power Tower and Head Spin? (it seems when CF needs new names in a rush they grab them from other parks with similar rides)
  4. Only drop zone for me, I rode SOB like it was nothing when I went for the first time, as a mater of fact SOB was my first non-kiddie wooden roller coaster.
  5. Does it really have OST restraints? Is their that much airtime on it?
  6. FOFirehawkFAN replied to thomas's topic in Rumors
Did they even have that many patrons? UM YES, the main reason I rode it was because it was my favorite coaster at Geauga Lake and I was excited that I didn't have to go to Geauga Lake anymore to ride it!
  7. I am SO mad because when I went to Knotts Perilous Plunge AND the log flume were both closed down, and I had heard they were both the best rides of their kind anywhere.
  8. Becasue the effects at Kings Island were of a much higher budget so Im assuming they are more expensive to maintain and even more expensive to fix/replace. So CF MIGHT be thinking since they won't have the tomb raider license forever then why spend the money on making it a tomb raider ride?
  9. I will be there! I cant wait!
  10. I just started going to Kings Island regularaly a few years ago so I enjoyed looking at the pictures and video to see what the park used to look like. I do remember riding the smurfs ride as a kid but thats about it.
  11. And one year and a couple months later I was born.
  12. FOFirehawkFAN replied to welchce's topic in Trip Reports
I got to ride SOB a few days ago, i waited for about 2 hours hopeing it would open, and they opened the line for about 10 min enough to run 2 trains through before they closed it back down, so I got very lucky!
  13. If Six Flags is so great why does MM suck so much? Honestly when I went there, they had awesome rides, but the quality of the park was horrible, not clean, not kept up, the employees didn't want to be there, and one of their better roller coasters was plopped down in a fenced off portion of the parking lot with the parking space lines still there!!! I was under the impression this was one of their top parks, so why not take better care of it? This is the only Six Flags ive been to this summer but if they had surveyed me I would have been against the majority.
  14. On the elevator when they ask if anyone has any questions, Ive always wanted to ask "Is it true someone died on the Eiffel Tower?"
  15. I forgot to put the renovated Space Mountain on my list.
  16. Ok this is different than the top 10 in my sig but here ya go! Parks I've been to - Kings Island, Geauga Lake, Cedar Point, Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, Disney World(& Land), Six Flags MM, and Knotts Berry Farm 1.) Maverick - CP 2.) X - SFMM 3.) Millennium Force - CP 4.) Hulk - Islands of Adventure 5.) Top Thrill Dragster - CP 6.) Revenge of the Mummy - Universal Studios 7.) Magnum - CP 8.) Dueling Dragons - Islands of Adventure 9.) Accelerator - Knotts Berry Farm 10.) X-Flight (Firehawk) - Geauga Lake/Kings Island
  17. That's quite a treat. The sign shop is exactly what the name implies -- they make the signs for the park. However, while back there you can see hundreds of old signs from the days of the past. In fact, that's also where they are constantly doing rehab on carousel horses too. Trust me, it'll be one of the highlights of the day. Ryan And if your lucky, you might even see a smurf! Bill - Who has been on 3 other SOB tours but can't WAIT for this one!! OMG seriously? They still have the smurfs?
  18. And some coney to coney mall, and some river to rivertown, etc you get what Im saying the park areas dont even make sense, why even keep them named?
  19. Oh I did not not know that was a whole CF thing my bad I thought they were just keeping it with the former Paramount parks. And YES prices did escalate at Six Flags last year as I worked for Six Flags last summer and saw seasonal and annual profit per cap reports for most of the parks.
  20. Ok from previous experience in the business I have found that a tactic like this is to generate revenue quickly. Next year we may see lower prices we may not. CF has said that they are following Paramounts guidelines as far as retail profits which outline a high total profit, not necessarily high per-caps and looking at Six Flags when they initiated this in all of their parks last summer revenue skyrocketed while percaps stayed the same or suffered so there ya go, I dont think it will change, frankly because it works, now if they ever decide to switch over to the per cap method like the other CF parks I can see prices going down.
  21. Ok just a random thought here tell me what you think, tear down AE BUT keep all the buildings and effects for the ride, and rebuild it as a STEEL coaster in Rivertown maybe something similar to the way Maverick runs? Huh Huh?
  22. FOFirehawkFAN replied to thomas's topic in Rumors
Heck yeah I can't wait, Ive seen the videos from previous Beast Buzzs but Ive always wanted to see it for myself!
  23. I absolutly LOVE KIC. I used to work for Six Flags Wyandot Lake (waterpark in columbus for those of you who havn't heard of it) and before I worked there I got a season pass every year. Well Im sure most of you know the whole Six Flags thing and yeah my park was sold and torn down so Kings Island became my new summer obsession so thanks to everyone here for making it even more fun.
  24. How about a rollercoaster dark ride like Revenge of The Mummy that would my dream come true.
  25. Thats the best idea ive heard yet for Top Gun, esp the floorless trains! It really would be a new ride they could call it Top Gun's Revenge.
