  1. Those are fightin' words! God I love that tree...it is one of the more magical things at the park to me. In my opinion that one is SO bad it's fun! Which falls into the "You always want what you can't have" mentality...boy that rides sucks...oh, they're taking it out I better ride it! (SOB anyone?!)
  2. I wonder what Freud would have made about us pesimists being fans of Kings Island?!
  3. Well so far that's 3 against 1...so I guess I am in the big minority...at least here. I assumed there had to be some people who liked the ride otherwise it wouldn't be there. Not that anyone has asked...but my main complaint is that it is SO beneath Disney's usual high standards. Except for The Wicked Witch all of the figures look bad...skin is not supossed to be shiny. After each time going through I kept replaying it in my head trying to figure out how that fact got by the Imagineers. (Were they all supossed to be sweating?) I did enjoy the movie montage at the end. And now for another honest slam...no joke, if I had to choose between getting a flu shot or riding that ride I would choose a flu shot because it is less painful and it is over faster! Do you mean at WDW? If so, what 2 rides would you rate as worse? P.S. There is nothing as much fun as taking a thread THIS far off course!
  4. So can I assume that you are a fellow pessimist?!
  5. I can't say as I blame them...you are supossed to be their "friend"...if a friend kept coming over to my house just to insult me I would stop asking them over.
  6. ^ Avatar...so lets see...I have ridden it twice...so maybe third times a charm?!
  7. CoasterGeek, Nice video. I agree with TOPGUN1993, I like how you synced up the still photos with the music. If you are looking for "constructive" critism, I would say that the thing I don't care for is the sepia coloring. In my opinion it takes away from the "fun & excitement" of the park...it seems more fitting for something like a construction tour or maybe showing a sad last day of the season....I don't think a light blue tint would have the same effect. (Just my 2 cents.) Thanks for sharing!
  8. Not if a lot of people on this site are to believed: http://www.alphamaleblog.com/tattoo-bug.html I have also talked to someone who had it done with a laser...the results were not good. That is not a fair statement. Some things are out of a person's control. A few of the people I know got tattoos of music artists they liked...then. Back around 1983 one of my friends loved The Police, he thought Sting was great...so he has The Synchronicity stripes with Sting's name over them. Within' a year The Police broke up and Sting went on to make (in his & my opionion) very boring music...he now dreads looking at it. How do you think someone running around with a (pre-murder suspect) O.J. Simpson tattoo might feel? I would venture to say that you yourself could think back 10-15 years about something you loved then, but now have little or no interest at all. Like I said, I can appreciate a GOOD tattoo...if someone wants one more power to them. I'm sure TrainedBeast has given it a lot of thought and she knows what's she's doing and I am also not trying to change her mind...just trying to give her food for thought. Now I gotta go look up the hidden meaning of some tattoos.
  9. ^ I second that...I never tire of hearing these stories even if they're not from Kings Island.
  10. DiamondbackCMH, Sorry for the late reply...nice trip report. I am glad you had a good time...it was probably hard not thinking "Well, this is the last time I will probably ride this for a long time" a lot during the day. (Not to depress you. ) Good luck with your move...and hope to continue to see your posts here...who knows what kind of Trip Reports you can come up with "out there"!
  11. Thanks for sharing your photos...they turned out REALLY good!
  12. My mistake...I didn't catch that. I wonder if while she was riding it she wished she was still standing in the line...where it seemed like more fun.
  13. I am like KIfan73...I have never had a desire to get a tattoo. I can appreciate good tattoo work...I just wouldn't want one. I have had several friends whohave gotten tattoos of things they liked at the time...but now they don't and they are stuck with them. What happens down the road (God forbid) that The Beast falls into a state where you don't enjoy riding it...would you still want to live with it on your person constantly? It could be a case of whenever someone says something like "Why do you have that awful ride on you"...and you would have to explain every time that you got the tattoo back when the ride was good...it could get old. Just a liitle advice from a admitted pessimist/realist.
  14. I don't know if that actually is a stupid question...i'm not sure I consider it a ride. Here is a photo I made for my Disney trip photoalbum a few years ago" This "ride" is one of the biggest embarrassments that I think exists at WDW...probably second only to the backlot tour. (IMHO)
  15. Anyone enjoying the park today should feel pretty grateful...here in Illinois as I stare out the window it is raining really hard and so dark you would swear it was nighttime.
  16. Judging by this photo, I would choose Robbie to take back in time if I had to face a real dinosaur...everyone else is terrified...he's got that "oh looky it's a dinosaur" kind of expression. That's EXACTLY what I was worried about...kids can get really dirty in even halfway wet sand...and my sister always tries to dress my nephews nice for the park. Hey, wait. No, don't tell me. Didn't we meet last year at the Feinman bar mitzvah?
  17. And possibly on another board in a thread called "Enthusiasts Say The Darndest Things" that teenage boy is posting this: I was coming out of the restrooms next to WindSeeker, and I was talking to my friend that the reason that WindSeeker isn't open yet is because four seats fell off the ride during testing. This enthusiast interrupted me and tried to tell us that that wasn't true and that they hadn't even started testing, but he insisted that he was right, so I just said "whatever" and walked away.
  18. Jesse/Avatar, Thanks for such a great report...and your font color really get's me into the theme of the event. Your pictures are great. It will be awhile before I make it to the park so these will hold me over for now. I like the sign for the attraction...it may be simple but I think it also fits the theme. It looks like you had a great day...even with the rain. I think the main thing I like about your report is that it is nice having an objective opinion of Dinosaurs Alive. I have learned over the years that you will not only give us the good but the bad...so it's nice to see that you couldn't find much to improve on. After reading your report I have no doubt my "dinosaur loving nephew" is going to be more than happy seeing these! (I do have one question...in the Dino Dig area...is that real sand?) Thanks again for the great report...I love seeing/reading someone who is still excited about the park!
  19. PCC, a very cute paragraph! (I find that you can really see how a kid's mind works when you get to read something like this.)
  20. Yes they are! I would have thought that would make it easier... Robbie: "You see anywhere I missed?" Assistant: "No...it looks good to me". Time to go home!
  21. I wandered across this photo while looking for some old shots of the park...it was in someone's Flickr account...so I have covered their faces. Looking at all of these "fashions" the only thing that keeps popping in my head is: "If we don't learn from history, we are doomed to repeat it."
  22. ^No reason to go nooooooo! Just think of it as a 2-3 year hiatus for thr trail....and when it comes back it will have a nice new concrete pathway!
  23. Sorry for the late reply...I looked at all of your photos the first day but forgot to comment. You took some very nice photos...oddly enough the one I like the best is the first shot of the goose! Thanks for sharing!

Yeah, i've played that game before...sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. It's fun to pretend that you don't notice them continually saying "Excuse me...excuse me". I don't really sweat line cutters too much. I figure it's not worth letting it ruin my mood for possibly one ride later.

So someone getting out of school is "upset' to find lots of school kids at the park! Nice report, it sounds like you had a good time and you express it well. Oh yeah...those old classic 90's...such a long time ago! There is nothing so depressing as when you find out the music from your youth is considered oldies. (But mine is way before the 90's.)
