  1. Another nice video. I have a feeling that down the road people will appreciate these even more as the rides either age or are removed. As for the music, I am not a techno fan either...but I figure if the maker of the video is he/she should be able to put what they want. (Personally I just turn the volume down and listen to a song I like...which probably most here wouldn't like either! )

Ty, It's hard to know where to start...a really fun trip report to read/look at. After looking at your /everyones photos I feel like I have walked through the park. It seems like a very scenic park...just what I like. It's cool that after driving such a long way that you were greeted with an empty park...that had to help enjoy the day even more. I have never made it to Dollywood yet...but what with reading Avatar's and your TR I really have to make it there soon. There seems to be quite a few unique experiences at the park...the Thunderhead station fly-by sounds awesome, "River Battle" looks like loads of fun...I would trade that ride for any of several rides at KI...including The Crypt. (By the way...will our bet ever be settled?!) Adventure Mountain also looks like a lot of fun...but what's with those wussy harnesses? I don't know if it's just Cody's photography skills, but Daredevil Falls looks amazing...nice themeing. I agree, it sounds like a great idea that the park has play areas for the little ones near the big rides. Too bad KI doesn't do that. I don't think a lot of adults realize that something doesn't have to be over-the-top big to thrill little kids. I can't count how much time my nephew's played at The Laughing Place at WDW. YOur Sky Zip story is funny...although not probably to you. (By the way, how much was it to do that?) Thanks for the report, judging by your photos this will be trip you will always remember*. By the way...is this proper english? It seemed to make my head swim. *Future alzheimer's not withstanding.
  3. One of the nicest trip reports that I have read in quite a while...mostly because it's so personable. Just as Dave mentioned, I laughed out loud when I read the 5, 7 & 40 line! You took some great photos...your kids (and you) look like you are having a great time. It's too bad you had some rain...but like you said it probably kept some of the crowds away. (Every cloud...) I always thought the stunt show was shut down if it rained...so your pictures are interesting. I am jealous of your Chef Mickey dining. My family has now been there 4 times and we have NEVER been able to sit in the "main" room...we always get put in what appears to me as the spillover area. I do have a Boardwalk question for you...my family and I stayed there in late January...we wanted to avoid Spring break! We were lucky enough to get this room...although it was a l-o-n-n-n-g walk back and forth to get to it! Anyway, did you get any impression that a majority of the guests seemed to have more of an "entitlement" issue? We have stayed at a few other resorts at Disney and it always seems like everyone was "equall"...at the Boardwalk it seemed different. Here is the main difference that I saw...and I saw it several times during our recent trip...a majority of the guests riding the bus to the parks only seemed to think of themselves. I can't tell you how many young able bodied men took a seat while a mother with kids or an elderly person was standing up. There was also quite a few times when the parents allowed their 1-3 year old children to have a seat of their own. (Instead of holding them on their laps.) Once again, while elderly people had to stand. Also on the buses lots of people seemed to grumble if they had to squeeze in too much. I am used to the friendly "Come on, we can get everyone on" mentality. Had I experienced this once I could have overlooked it...but after several incidents like this during our trip I started to really dislike our fellow resort guests. Once again, thanks for the truly GREAT trip report!
  4. Your trip report slipped past me...but I just finally got around to reading it all. (Yes it is long!) Thanks for sharing...it sounds like you had a good time!
  5. ^After studying your post the only thing that pops into my head is Fleetwood Mac's "Over My Head". I will throw on one of my favorite quotes of all time... I love the outdoors! Whenever I'm not indoors that's where you'll find me. -Frank Burns
  6. Thanks for taking the time to put together such a nice trip report...it reminds me of what trip reports used to be like around here!
  7. ^Yeah it's from media day...sorry I didn't specify that.
  8. Paul...as always thanks for continuing to come up with interesting photos. Here's a little companion piece to your photo:
  9. You're questioning someone who actually lived the 70's?! I did not know what Cedar Point's sign looked like...so I had to Google it, and if it is the one I found I now kinda agree with you. When I was looking at the webacm I thought that it had white, sky blue, dark blue & yellow...but if that is actually more of a bright green than a yellow it's not as 70's as I thought.
  10. There was one of these up for sale on eBay about a year or 2 ago...someone had it is their front yard. I forget how much they wanted, it wasn't too much...but you did have to pick it up in person.
  11. Not that anyone has asked...but I couldn't be happier with the color choices for WindSeeker, it looks very 70's Brady Bunch retro.
  12. I can see where there could be a danger of running out of air if you were somewhere where you weren't strictly timed...but at the park I am sure you have more than enough air for the length of your "ride". When my nephew did it we could clearly hear him tell us he had had enough and wanted to get out early....I would think that someone having problems breathing could do the same thing.
  13. I'm not a big fan of the Like buttons...only for the fact that I think it is nicer for someone to actually take a second and tell me why they like (or dislike) a post.
  14. I have worked with the public for decades...it has always seemed to be an unwritten rule that you only make fun of the customers BEHIND their backs!
  15. I also understand that a "nice" map is not that important in the big picture...but I have always believed in the old "Take care of the small things and the gig things will take care of themselves". Sometimes it's the little things that leave a lasting impression. My nephew who is 6 always grabs a map to look at when we go to a park...and I am sure that it will be part of his memories of visiting the parks when he gets older. (Does his opinion count...or is he considered an enthusiast at age 6?) Amen. If you don't want to put up with the "idiots" don't take the job.
  16. A very well thought out post! I liked a lot of your ideas...you did lose me with the removal of Adventure Express & Viking Fury though...I love those rides. Ouch! That's almost as bad as Paramount considering a ride based on The Titanic. I thought Cedar Fair already gave us this?!
  17. Some very nice shots. Thanks for sharing!
  18. I like how you threw that in at the end...it made me smile.
  19. This is what is posted here at the KIC website: So, according to this site it was a success...just not as big as Fearfest/Halloween Haunt so one of them had to go. Some people make some claims that may seem outlandish. I made one myself. I used to frequent a local "mom & pop" video store for years. I liked everyone at the store and their selection. A corporate chain came into town and "low balled" them out of business. I swore I would never rent from them. It has now been over 10 years and I have not rented 1 single video/DVD since the mom & pop store closed. I went from renting 3-5 videos a week to none. (I now just either wait for it to hit HBO or purchase the DVD.) So I say do not be too sure that RaptorGuy does not mean what he says.
  20. I also like the sign...it might be considered simple by some but I think it has "character".
  21. ^How would they "suppress" them?
  22. Tastes great.........less filling! Those truly were the days.
  23. ^ If I were to caption the above photo it would be: "Well, that makes only 3 years, 4 months, 6 days, 4 hours and 48 minutes until I can retire".
  24. No offense...but lately you don't quite to be your usual happy self. With that said, I have to say that line is funny!
