  1. Good call! I already assumed Shirley Jones & Susan Dey wouldn't even consider coming...but I am shocked that Danny Bonaduce wasn't on the list of who was "available"...I thought he was available for anything! I'm also surprised that David Cassidy was not willing...since he still tours I figured he would just play the Timberwolf and make a side appearance at the park. Thanks for the answer!
  2. A VERY nice trip report...and great pictures. Thanks for sharing!
  3. Very cool! I love seeing aerial photos of the park. Thanks!
  4. My comment had nothing to do with the flag or what it represents...it was only about aesthetics. If you look in my profile you will see that one of the things I like about the park is that they play our national anthem every morning. Why have I never seen anyone on here complain about when a park has the U.S. flag flying on top of something as trivial as a coaster...now THAT is something I find offensive.
  5. I think having the U.S. flag there is nice for the opening ceremony in the morning...but I don't like having those three poles blocking the straight on fountain view.
  6. This is so true...a coaster just isn't the same without someone to talk to up the lift-hill. I have always liked (and believed) this line from Bruce Springsteen's "Hungry Heart": "Don't make no difference what nobody says Ain't nobody like to be alone"
  7. ^Funniest line i've read here in quite awhile! (I get a vision of the train scene from the Leslie Nielson "Wrongfully Accused" movie...the one where the train that is hiding pops his head from out of a bush.)
  8. Same thing happened to me that night...I had been riding it over and over by myself...then I hooked up with Jesse/Avatar and started riding with him. I started getting a killer headache (I didn't tell him.) but he just wanted to keep riding...I didn't want to appear to be a wuss so I kept riding it. I can't tell you how good it sounded when he said "I think i'm done for the evening".
  9. 4 Years old is EASILY old enough to have a great time...the park has a lot of great for kids of all ages! Amen!
  10. I haven't contributed much lately…unless you count the (seemingly) never-ending slams against Planet Snoopy…so I figured I would share one of my latest eBay purchases. I picked these photos up last week…with a little assist from Paul/TG1993...whenever he notices an interesting auction he usually gives me a heads-up just to make sure I don't miss it…which is appreciated. I would also like to thank TopThrill for recently taking my old photos and improving them GREATLY! Anyway, here are 11 shots of the park back in August of 1972...enjoy! I hope you enjoyed the photos!
  11. It's been awhile since you've done this...nice to see it back!
  12. I couldn't make the original train tour because the date was not handy...I don't think I have to worry about that now! (I look forward to doing this very much.)
  13. Very nice trip report...thanks for sharing!
  14. Thanks for the reply. I am sure that that was quite a site! This is probably the most interesting thing that I have learned about the park lately...I always thought the numbers represented how "scary" a ride was.
  15. I really like the bricks and think this is great news...now for the other shoe to drop...does having the bricks mean that there won't be any sliders in that area during Halloween Haunt?
  16. I REALLY do appreciate it when the answers are not "wishy washy"...the answer may not be what a lot of us would like to have read but I would rather have the truth than a "Who knows what will happen" type of an answer...thanks!
  17. Yes...welcome! I hope you have a nice trip...that's quite a drive.
  18. Here is how I would have finished that question... Not to be a stickler or anything, but I have noticed that this 5@5 has become more of a 5@later-than-5.... has the park ever considered a 10@10 instead?!
  19. Jesse, Thanks for the excellent trip report...as usual. I really wanted to be there but because of the short notice it just wouldn't have worked out very well for me...and even though I wasn't there I would like to thank the park for finally doing this...and I hope that they will eventually do another one sometime in the future.
  20. Do you mean CF should find the structures mates...or that they should be inhabited by married persons?
  21. Up until I read your post I have always thought of kjkjkj as KIC's biggest optimist...but I think you are giving him a run for his money! (Not that there's anything wrong with that...the world is a better place with optimists.)
  22. By the length of your report I can see why it took you so long! Nice report!
  23. I would have never guessed that Charles Schulz' family only owned 20% of the rights to The Peanuts.
  24. You know what they say...the first step to recovery is admitting that you even have a problem...so you're half way there.
