the current program is the most thrilling one there is that doesn't cause extensive downtown, according to the park, i think it would be great if they'd add theming to more than just the pre-ride chamber and indoor line, but don't expect there to be any water features if they do add theming.

i had a dream once that wicked twister did have two trains, in my dream there was a piece of switch track that worked kind of like the "lift" of round about, at freestyle music park, that way there was a "standby" train in case something happened to the other, it was a very weird dream.

Kings Island: A Perspective from Southeast TN

that's a great article, i wish i could shake this woman's hand for doing research and just not going on an all out bashing spree against Kings Island for things out of their control. -
Most Extreme Roller Coasters

you know, i've never thought about it, but that right there might just be the reason i don't like it, that and the hill after the second launch (i believe it's pointless to have a ride be launched that fast, just to be slowed down after a quick turn), maybe if Cedar Point decides to change the restraints to the newer ones i'll like it better. -

this is a pretty good forum to post this in: "Support the return of The Bat to Kings Island" sadly, it's never going to happen. -
What rides will be at KI when you bring your kids there?
coaster_junky replied to KI FANATIC 37's topic in Kings Island
^what are you talking about? scooby doo's ghoster coaster, the antique cars, and the flying eagles were all lost in the '05 season -
just a guess, but maybe track markers for run Kings Island? edit: just realized that a sign almost hidden by the leaves of a tree might not be the most helpful to someone trying to stay on course.

a hyper coaster is a roller coaster that is over 200' tall, but less than 300' tall, so actually not only are sheikra and griffon dive machines, but also hyper coasters, because both's height place them in the hyper category also. before someone brings up the no inversion rule, when Son of Beast first opened it was referred to as the world's first hyper-woodie, it had an inversion.

^i see Flight of Fear lasting longer than you stated, based on the maintained aspect, it's protected from basically all the elements, except cold, which could cause fractures in the track and other parts of the ride, but as long as the park wants it, i see it being there, after all, why would they want to lose the worlds first lim launched coaster? -

...and who knows, maybe we'll get really lucky and the "b" will stand for, biggest turnaround for a coaster's reputation. -

wow, it's been a while since someone has posted in this, almost two months!! anyway, i found this on facebook, take it for what it's worth. -
last season i got to the park at 7:30, rode Diamondback, the crypt, then Diamondback two more times. the only reason this is relevant is because they closed down Diamondback temporarily for the fireworks, well either that or they had an unexpected problem that lasted exactly the same amount of time as the firework show, but i'm not complaining seeing the fireworks and then their reflection in the splashdown pool was really awesome.

also take into account how long it takes for even a power screwdriver to remove just one screw, could you imagine standing hunched over for that long when you could have just pulled out three nails in the time it took to remove one screw? -

^^easier removal at a later date? i mean, running an extension cord for a electric screwdriver verses a man powered hammer, although the electric power tool would be easier, it would seem to me to be a big hassle for maintenance. -

i think wooden, not just to be different, but just the face that it seems that although they are harder to maintain, it seems like it would be easier to preform "fixes" on them, i'm not really sure why i think this, but it just seems to make sense to me. -
... and maybe i just heard it from an uncredited source and shouldn't have believed them, but i think i heard from someone that Flight of Fear was constructed fulling inside the building it's in.
-
Well I'd only want to ride it when it's not pitch black as I don't really want to go upside down when I don't expect it, and I like to know what's going to happen a ride, which is why I watch as many POV's as I can of all roller coasters. if you want to watch a pov of Flight of Fear, or just see what it looks like without the building; look at these in all honesty the only inversion that really catches you by suprise is the final corkscrew, even if you know the layout.

Timberliners Delayed

i'm guessing you didn't see the picture where part of the fiberglass frame had snapped due to forces, it's somewhere in this thread. edit: here's the picture. (my bad, i thought it was caused by stress from forces on the train, not a bag of corn. so i guess you can just forget this post.) -

coaster_junky replied to KI FANATIC 37's topic in Kings Island
as much as i hate to say it, i don't see magnum being at Cedar Point in 20 years, although it was the coaster to break the 200' mark, i just can't see it lasting that much longer. the same for Vortex and possibly Adventure Express. -
^then you should really try Flight of Fear, all seats have the same view when the lights are off, you get to pick your own seat, plus, it's layout launches you to the top of the ride, and you descend through a series of twists and turns leaving no sudden drops.
-
i've only ridden Diamondback, but i think apollo's chariot looks pretty awesome to me, although some on this site say that it's nothing more than a motion simulator.
-
start out small, maybe flying ace or woodstock express, but if you know you can ride those two, try bumping yourself up to flight deck, possibly the middle of the train, or if your problem is seeing the coaster, try riding Flight of Fear, i think i remember you posting about you've ridden backlot before, and it's not a whole lot faster of a launch. hope this helps!
