Lets look at the evidence: Diamondback and Firehawk ( KI ), Bohemeth ( Canada's Wonderland ) Dominator and I-305 ( KD ) and Intimidator ( Carowinds.) Plus the total refurbishment of Rivertown, bringing back the great live entertainment that the old KI was known for. Plus the fact that CP hasn't had a new coaster since 2007 ( Maverick.) How can you possibly say based upon the above that Dick Kinzel is favoring CP and ignoring the other parks?

Have only ridden DB and Nitro, so didn't vote.

Castaway Bay has a great breakfast buffet at a very reasonable price. ( About 8.50-8.75.)If you like omelets or waffles they will make them special for you. There is also Breakwater Cafe ( I think its at Sandcastle Suites which is closer to your property ) or Fridays at The Breakers-both have breakfast buffets. ( Don't know the price or how good they are.)

Does anyone know if steel or wooden coasters last longer or is their life span about the same? Just wondering.

The track layout of Flight of Fear reminds me of a giant bowl of spaghetti.

First of all, think about the reason you want to conquer your fear of coasters-are you doing it for yourself or because of peer pressure? If you are doing it for yourself that is fine. If it is because others are pressuring you, that is the wrong reason. Keep in mind that many people cannot stand coasters or other thrill rides and there is nothing wrong with that. Others who love coasters and thrill rides need to respect others who don't. If you answered yes to my first question, I would definately start out small. I would start at Adventure Express and Woodstock Express. Don't ride in the back as that tends to be the roughest part of the train-ride toward the front. Also, avoid wheel seats which tend to be extra rough. Work your way up gradually to the bigger coasters-next try Racer, then Beast, then DB. I would do the upside down ones like Vortex, Firehawk and Flight of Fear last. And never ride after you have just had a big meal for obvious reasons. Happy riding!

TY, performing has always been in my blood and I take more Interest in things like this as those who think about nothing but coasters. Even if a show is not up to caliber so to speak it still makes the area in the park seem more alive. And as for Aretha and Frankie being in Motown you are correct, however both were very influential in the history of Motown. I agree with that. And absolutely none of the new artists today can belt one out like Aretha.

If I am not mistaken, neither Aretha Franklin now Frankie Valee recorded for Motown. Just a minor quibble about an otherwise great show.

^Actually, the LaRosas stores outside the park from my experience do an excellant job in putting a lot of toppings on.

I also like Outer Hanks-the food is great (especially the ribs) and you get a lot of food for your money. Also along Coney Mall there is a food stand right near the Scrambler ( the name escapes me ) which serves great chicken fingers and fries and they give you a lot. ( The only bad thing is the food is very fattening-am trying to watch my fats and carbs. ) The Larosa's Pizza in my opinion is not what it used to be-I love pepperoni pizza but my idea of pepperoni pizza is not 2 or 3 pieces of pepperoni per slice-they tend to be very stingy about the ingredients.

Was that visit from Walter Bolliger last month at Coastermania more than just a hello? I'm not sure he would fly all the way from Switzerland unless he had some business to discuss.Just a thought.

I agree, Terpy, the makers of the the video didn't intend to make any kind of serious statement. Yet, I still think it would be a good motivational video to show in a humorous way to employees the importance of developing good listening skills.

We often have a discussion on this thread about the importance of good customer service. I know a lot of you are going to think I'm crazy but the Sponge Bob ride actually has something important to say about this subject. It shows that it is of utmost importance to listen to the customer. If Spongebob had listened to the customer before taking off on that pickle chase, he would have learned from the customer that he did not want pickles on his burger. Not only would Spongebob have saved himself a lot of trouble but he would have had a much happier, satisfied customer. Just a thought.

I'm planning my first trip to Holiday World next Tuesday, 7/13. Was wondering if anyone knew the best discount prices. I am a member of Coasterbuzz-if I am not mistaken they have discount tickets for such clubs. Also was wondering if local stores near the park had any discount deals. Thanks all.

I will say it again, this is how it was handled. Does my family have to go on national news to prove this? I did not argue or say anything about how it was handled or about the experience your family had. The point I was trying to make was that GYK182 was making assumptions about managements actions and intentions for the situation, when only those managers know for sure. The end result, as your family found out was bad and should have been handled differently. Ditto. Did not mean to deny the bad experience your family had, Purplehaze. They had first- hand knowledge about how things were handled. Was only commenting on others drawing conclusions from speculations, not facts, of how management handled the situation.

You are making a lot of assumptions here and getting bent out of shape over this, and you are not even sure how it was handled, or what upper management was even thinking on how to handle it. We all know how the media twists things to make it worse. Regardless of how it was executed, the intentions of upper management could have been the opposite of how it turned out. They might be chewing lower managements butts out right now for this situation, and coming up with a better plan for next time, we don't know! The damage is done for those people this time, but how they rectify this issue for next time also speaks waves as well. Other poster said they were handing out water and being very apologetic, opposite of what we have heard! Were you there? Did you talk to management and get their feelings on this situation? I am not defending KI here, for I have already posted what I think should have happened earlier in the thread. Unless you can back up your statements these are all just assumptions on what management was thinking at the time, but no one really knows but them. I agree with you. I keep seeing such words as "perhaps" and "probably". This is how we describe speculations, not facts.
