  1. Exactly. Don't forget that huge debt that Cedar Fair still has to pay off.
  2. ^It all depends upon the weather. On beautiful, sunny days, I find May Saturdays in the past to be pretty busy-it is a big month for field trips for churches and schools as well as after-prom trips. Of course, if the weather forecast is lousy as it has been for the past few weekends, you will find the crowds light.
  3. If SOB is renovated, I would expect a totally new name for the ride because of the name's negative reputation.
  4. Thanks for the memories. How I loved that ride.
  5. Another sorry from me as I like Rebel Yell at KD better.
  6. I've been going to KI since I was 11 when it opened in 1972 so, of course, I experienced Enchanted Voyage. There was nothing like it and one of the biggest mistakes in KI's history was dismantling it. You entered the ride on the outside on a rotating platform into boats. I cannot remember a whole lot about the details except that it was full of Hannah Barbera characters that I grew up with. I seem to recall that you passed a frog that belched, then said, " Excuse me. " ( My sister's favorite part of the ride. ) The last part of the ride was a mini haunted area ( nothing too scary for the kids. ) And of course, there was that wonderful song ( I don't remember exactly how the lyrics went-just remember the ending refrain " that live in my teveee......."-help me Terpy!!!)
  7. I disagree- I think TDD has excellant theming with a great queue sound track-in addition to Ready to Go, there is some great Elvis music ( A Little Less Conversation, Burning Love. ), Beach Boys, Hot Rod Lincoln, etc. Maverick also has excellant Western theming with a great country/western soundtrack. Just my opinion, I know it depends upon our personal preferences.
  8. They did have the $9.99 discount on Mother's Day last year. Come to think of it I was at the park then and, you're right, it wasn't horribly crowded. I'm thinking of when during the Paramount years they would have those bring a friend for free days. On those days the park was like a zoo.
  9. Since I was a child, the image of skeletons have continued to scare me to this day. I still remember how terrified I was of the old haunted house at old Coney Island. I think the reason for such fright is that skeletons represent the unknown of what we are all going to have to face, ie death.
  10. Its not so much the holiday as the bring a friend for 9.99-that could make the park packed.
  11. It certainly was. I am still not quite over it.... Neither am I, Terpie.
  12. The park tends to get pretty crowded on those days.
  13. How busy it is pretty much depends upon the weather. The past couple Saturdays ( 5/1, 4/24) haven't been busy because of rain/threat of rain. Otherwise, I find May to be a pretty busy month at the park with school trips, church trips, etc, when the weather is nice.
  14. As usual, another great TR from you, Jesse. Had a blast hanging out with you, Kelli, Brian and Ryan. Too bad the weather scared people away. The rain stopped in the morning soon after the train tour and the weather was just perfect the rest of the day. PS loved Tyler's cool Union uniform.
  15. From one who has had to deal with a lot of loss in the past 3 years ( both of my parents) my sincere condolences for the loss of your precious grandmother. I am sure you have many precious memories which, I assure you, will help you to heal.
  16. I know in the Paramount years, there was a military discount. You may want to call the park to see if they still offer this. If they do, it may or may not be better than the online price, so you may want to compare the two. Actually the military discount didn't start until after Cedar Fair took over ownership if I'm not mistaken. CP has always had military discount tickets and KI started this policy after Cedar Fair took over.
  17. Very enjoyable interview with Brian.
  18. I also liked Scooby better-I like a little light-heartedness with the scares and Scooby and Shaggy provided it.
  19. I might be wrong but I doubt that CF would build a record breaking B and M inverted at KI since it might steal the spotlight of CP's Raptor.
  20. I was pleasantly surprised by the weather today-it really didn't start to storm until the late afternoon. Otherwise, other than some light rain during part of ERT, it was pretty clear most of the day. Combined with light crowds, just about a perfect day.
  21. Just getting ready to go now. Hope however it doesn't rain hard as even a little drizzle stings your face like crazy on a coaster.
  22. My only negative feedback about Planet Snoopy is Boo Blasters- I think it is much too intense for young children.
  23. The $5.79 price for 2 slices of pieces isn't horrible assuming that you actually got two slices of pizza. The way the pizza was sliced at Festhaus was outrageous-2 slices of pizza was more like 2 half slices of pizza.
