You all might know a gentleman named Gary. ( Don't think he is on KICentral.) Just found out he reached his 1000th ride tonite. He was with Pki Boy and Kat. Congratulations to you Gary.

Have been using a fanny pack as long as I can remember. Such a simple solution.

Ditto. Enchanted Voyage was about as perfect as a ride could be for the entire family with a wonderful, snappy song. To this day, I still don't understand why KI ever removed it.
-
I think Wicked Twister holds the record for tallest and fastest impulse coaster.

I don't ride Invertigo because the g's are simply too much for me-everytime I have ridden I have come close to fainting.

Is Kings Island really strict on height requirements?
markr replied to coaster queen's topic in Kings Island
You took the words out of my mouth. And I especially get angry when the crowd boos a ride attendant for rejecting a child as too short at the loading platform. Does anyone care about the safety of our children? -

Raptor crew. I feel that they are the originals who set the standard for downright wackiness.

Had a terrific view of the walk from the parking lot. I'm so relieved he is ok.

If I am not mistaken, the cost to buy out the park is in the seven figures.

Perhaps the billboard from Coney was accurate-could it be Racer is 94 ft high and has 88 ft drop? And are you sure, Terpy, there was a coaster that was taller? I think Racer was the tallest at the time.

^ " Let's go up to Cedar Point, summertime's amazement park" Those are the only words I remember.
-
^I think before Racer was built, Shooting Star at old Coney may have been the tallest and fastest. I don't remember its height but to me it looked like it might have been taller than Racer. Of course I was a kid then and everything seemed huge to me.
-
If I am not mistaken Racer has an 88 foot lift hill. Don't know the height of Cyclone.

Vortex: First to have six inversions. Flight of Fear: First LIM-launched coaster. Reptar: First kids inverted coaster. Racer: Tallest/fastest. What is Racer "Tallest/Faster" for? Racer if I am not mistaken was tallest and fastest coaster in the world when it opened in 1972.

Does anyone old enough remember the jingle the first year Kings Island opened? I remember the tune but only a few words, " Kings Island, come on get happy, Kings Island, come on get happy. I also remember the jingle the second season: When you come to Kings Island you'll always smile, there's a whole lot of happy going on. There's a whole lot of happy, happy, going on. I'm sure Terpy remembers.

You don't offend me at all. Your photoshops, especially that photo of Reagan saying " Mr. Helbig, tear down that coaster now." have brought much needed laughter into my life. There is nothing wrong with expressing an opinion the way you do as you don't do so in a way that personally attacks people. Speaking for myself you owe me absolutely no apology. Keep those funny photos coming.

Why, oh why, did they have to get rid of the Enchanted Voyage? Agony!

In 2000, 14 roller coasters held the record for the most in one park. Kings Island actually claimed to share the record when SOB opened in 2000. KI claimed The Racer as a separate coaster as well as Recar, bringing the total number of coasters to 14. When KI first announced SOB in the summer of 1999, they claimed that they would be sharing the record for the most coasters-at the time CP held the record at 13. However, this all changed a few weeks later when CP announced Millenium Force. Millenium Force was CP's 14th coaster, SOB was KI's 13th coaster, counting the backwards Racer.

Congratulations Terpy. I don't know how you get so many posts in a day. You must post when you're in the shower. At any rate, thanks for always willing to post helpful information at a moment's notice. Who needs Guest Relations with Terpy around.

Great TR except I must respectfully disagree with you about Blue Streak not being a noteworthy coaster. In my opinion, one of the most under-rated woodies with great airtime. Just my opinion.

^You slay me.

I'm not sure I can watch this. It would make me too nervous.

Does anyone remember that at the time it opened in 2000 SOB was coaster number 13? I also remember that CP opened Woodstock Express in 1999 as coaster number 13 making way for Millenium Force in 2000 as coaster 14. What different paths each ride has taken. Probably just a silly superstition but I do think CP deliberately built a kiddie coaster as number 13 so MF wouldn't be number 13. Business people can be superstitious-hotels are known for skipping the 13th floor.
