Speaking of, is Single Rider Bob a KI local or CP local? Because my dad and I were waiting in line for the front on Millennium Force and saw him get in line. He's a CP local.

I would at the very least call them narrow minded. Marathoning on a roller coaster is simply a hobby like watching football. You could say the same thing about people who love football, that the time spent watching football could be spent doing something more worthy. Everyone has the right to choose a hobby for leisure that they enjoy. If people who don't understand have a problem, that is exactly what it is, their problem.

I remember Don did take our photo as we went down the first hill. As to who took the photo of Darlene holding the sign, in all honesy I cannot remember if it was Scott or Don. And I second the motion-why is everyone so sarcastic, childish, or downright mean? I certainly hope your parents taught you better manners than that.

To be honest I find some of the responses to those us who have admitted to having negative experiences on SOB to be rude and childish. Respecting differing opinions works both ways, not just one way. The reason I was curious about the gender and age of those who loved Son of Beast is that the male teenage years are a time of a lot of peer pressure to conform. I am finding many of the responses of the teenage male SOB lovers toward us SOB haters to be typical expressions of peer pressure, ie we cannnot take it, we are sissies. I noticed at the same time quite a few teen males admitting to not liking SOB. To them I say "congratulations for sticking up for your convictions." I would not be surprised if that young man who fainted on Raptor was pressured by his buddies to go on the ride to prove he wasn't chicken. I see this all the time when I see a group of young people together. Please, if someone in your group does not want to go on a ride do not pressure them. There can be serious health consequences from pressuring someone to ride a ride that they are afraid to ride. I have grown very fond of many of you on KI Central. I will respect your differences from my opinion but please respect my differences from your opinion.

I agree, what's the point of riding anything if it puts you in pain? Like Stalkerchick said, why would you put your hand on a hot stove burner?

Cedar Point Hotels

Check out Seacrest Motel. Rooms average about $60 per night during the peak season which isn't bad. It's about 3 miles from CP. The rooms aren't fancy but they are clean. There is an outdoor pool. The owner, Vicky, is a real sweetie. -
Just got back from ERT this morning on DB and had the honor of sharing Darlene's 500th ride. She was on the front seat with one of the DB attendants, Brian and Karen and myself rode in the second row. Three cheers for Darlene.

Terpy, where are you? Aren't you going to put in your two cents about this issue?
-
You're the one that put the poll up, not me.

Let's just let everyone vote first. After everyone votes I will explain why I thought it would be interesting to have such a survey. I think this will be fun.

Great idea.

Great meeting up with everyone. And thanks again Jesse for the yummy shake. ( Boy I'm in the mood for one now.)

I'd like to see more break-down of these polls by age and gender. For example, I find many Son of Beast haters who admit to horrible experiences are adults like me both male and female. It seems like most of the Son of Beast lovers are teenage males. Is this true or is it just my imagination?

That was Windishawne ( Kelli ) who was with Jesse and me. Thank you Jesse for the yummy milkshake.

Teen Injured on Raptor at Cedar Point
markr replied to Colonel_SoB_fan's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
She is not the only one who has cried injury on this ride. While I did not go to the emergency room, my last experience on SOB was so bad I felt like jumping out of the train. I have talked to many others with experiences similar to mine. While we may not have gone to the hospital, a sensation of severe headaches and being kicked in the chest is not a normal feeling even on a rough ride. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure this out. -

Um I was talking the most recent "accident" with the lady 2 weeks later saying she got injured. I am fully aware of that. And I am talking about both the most recent incident and the 2006 incident. Many people who have never even met the woman involved in the most recent incident have been questioning her honesty. I think when you have a prior incident where everyone was taken to the emergency room, you had better pay attention to this woman. The last time I rode SOB, I felt like I had been kicked in the ribs. Don't mean to get off track here but I think the way some people have been personally attacking this woman is disgusting. -

It sounds like this incident has absolutely nothing to do with the safety of the ride. There are some people because of health issues for whom it is simply dangerous to ride thrill rides. Guests are warned about the dangers of riding if they have a heart condition, high blood pressure or are pregnant. I have said repeatedly not to ever force or shame someone into riding a ride if they are really terrified as there can be serious health consequences. And comparing this incident with S.O.B. is like comparing apples to oranges. There is a big difference between one person fainting on a ride and a whole train load of people being sent to the hospital. -
Friday and Saturday will probably be very crowded because of Spirit of Song. I would choose Friday and Sunday to maximize your ride time.
-
The DB crew is always joking around. I can picture them saying to me "you again?" because I am always at the ride. Of course I would take it like a joke.

I have not been to the Backyard BBQ but have heard that the food is not cooked outside. For example, I have heard that they serve those steamed hamburgers which I have tasted and are terrible. I suggest that you go to Outer Hanks for the best deals. For example, for $9.99 you can get a half a slab of ribs and fries which they just pile into your basket. They were delicious too. Outer Hanks also has good seafood. Skyline is not a bad deal either for park food prices. You can get a big plate of chili and spaghetti for just over $6. I also love Potato Works which has been at the park since it opened in 1972- everyone brags about CP's Boardwalk fries but the Potato Works fries cannot be beat. They also have other nice goodies to nibble on such as chicken bites and shrimp. The price of fries may seem high at $5.99 but you get a huge amount for the price. I used to love to go to LaRosa's when I went to KI but the quality has really gone down there over the years. Their slices literally have declined in size by half while the prices have gone up. ( $6.17 for two slices. ) And for some reason, their idea of a slice of pepperoni pizza is maybe 2 pieces of pepperoni per slice-it used to be that they would pile on the pepperoni. Also, I tried the buffet next to Diamondback and the quality of the food was way below the outrageous price of $16.95. Once place KI hasn't gone downhill is dessert. I still think their soft serve ice cream cannot be beat. It is $3.74 for a cone, a little pricy but not horrible.

There has been a lot of discussion as to how coasterkid can prove his record. Maybe I am naive but I believe in the good old honor code. Unless you are 100 percent sure, you simply don't call a person a lier. I saw coasterkid today and have seen him other times at the DB station and find him to be a very nice young man. And while I have a lot of DB rides ( 352 so far ) I ride DB because I love it, not for the record. Whether or not people believe how many times I have ridden is simply immaterial to me. Like Darlene, I ride the ride because it relaxes me.

I was there today when they pulled one of the DB trains which was after it started to rain. The park wasn't crowded today but just came home anyway because for me its just not fun riding in the rain and getting my face stung by the raindrops.
-
Nice seeing you yesterday. Sorry didn't get a chance to stop and chat but was tired, so decided to go home.

I am now at 350 DB rides. Still significantly behind Darlene but the most important thing is I am having fun.
