FUN Time--About the Units
Tomkatt7 replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Or to promise tax rebates to all of your citizens, and then borrow the money from another country to pay them? -

Press Release: Carmen Electra at Kings Island August 30th
Tomkatt7 replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
Man, Something about her, and a 3-way, makes me wish this wasn't a family site!!!! -
It was kind of weird. Looking at the map this spring, I thought it would be a major headache not having that path open. Once we got there though, it didn't seem like that big of a deal. They can leave it closed, but I think they'll have something go through there so you cn see the splash down.

Not to be mean, I am a HUGE Blue Jackets fan, but....... nobody else really seems to care about them too much. I don't think that they alone, will bring in huge crowds. Maybe if they start playing better, people will take more of an interest in them. Until then though, enjoy the small lines at the autograph sessions

OK....It's only 2 weeks later, but Here is Maddie on her first "big" ride. She swears she loved it, although you can hear her screaming through the whole thing. I worried from time to time that she'd pass out, she didn't seem to be taking in enough air, it was all coming out!!! LOL

If everybody keeps complaining to "Tear it down, and move it to X Base" You can bet the powers that be, will only hear part of it!!! Unless it becomes dangerous, I don't see them moving it. It would cost WAAAAAAAYYYYYY to much to move it halfway across the park. Cost even more to put something in it's place. I'd say that KI is "tapped out" on the ol ride building fund for a while. Plus, you gotta remember, not everyone wants to ride a 400 foot coaster. My daughter is still getting warmed up to coasters. She rides The Beast, FD, FOF, Vortex, and AE. She hasn't got up the nerve for SOB, and despite all her big talk now....Theres NO WAY she'll be riding DB next summer!!! LOL FD is a great coaster for the intermediate riders. A little too scary for first time riders, but it's exciting for her, and I don't see it as a bore to take her on it.

At least you got one in the end.... I remember being at a fast food drive through, and being told they were out of meat!!!!! You believe that crap???? And, don't even get me started on apple pies!!!! LOL But yeah, I ate there 2 years ago, the food was OK, but it was 60 bucks to feed the family. Burgers fries and Cokes.......60 bucks..... If it were missing the burger, I'd be a bit steamed

How long would you wait to ride your favorite roller coaster?
Tomkatt7 replied to coaster lover's topic in KI Polls
I can't wait that long for anything, no matter how good it is... We always schedule vacation days for our visits so we can go through the week. The longest wait we had this year was for the FOF...about 20 minutes...... The A/C made it great, so I would have waited double the time for that one!!!! -
Build a newer, faster, longer coaster....Fine. But don't mess with a classic. It is 19 out of 20 on a list huh? I would like to see how many of those were built AFTER The Beast, and probably used it as the footprint for their ride. Those chicks on Trading Spaces do some really cool stuff to fix up older homes, but I don't think they'll be getting a call to "spruce up" The Sistine Chapel anytime soon.....I mean, how old is that place? I'm sure there are bigger newer churches around with more comfortable seating. Why haven't they "fixed" that place?

I agree with you whole heartedly. Let's examine this. Wild Thornberry's River Adventure (aka Kings mills/Kings Mills log flume) was originally constructed in 1968 for Coney Island-then moved overwinter 1971-1972 for Kings Island.. revamped in 2002. essentially the same ride. Next water ride added? Kenton's Cove Keelboat Canal in 1973. Arrow Dynamic's hydroflume. Removed in 2001 for TR:TR. NEXT water ride- White Water Canyon. Intamin AG's Raging Rivers ride in 1985.. which if they remove someone will have to pay... and finally THE *LAST* water ride to be added, in it's *21st* operating season Congo Falls (aka Amazon Falls)... IT HAS BEEN 21 years since Kings Island has introduced a new water ride... If you ask me... it is HIGH TIME. I guess all those slides and wave pools don"t count?

Whats the worst news you ever heard about a ride at ki
Tomkatt7 replied to kingcobra84's topic in Kings Island
I remember hearing on the news about the lady falling out of flight commander, and the guy drowning/electrocuted....... Can't remember if it was the same weekend or not, but they were pretty close together....... I was thinking the park would close for investigation and never reopen again.... But in the end, it was the guest's fault, as usual...... It was a tense couple of weeks though. -
NO! DT's MINE!! I used to be terrified of DT until I went to Cedar Point and rode Millennium Force and Top Thrill Dragster. I swing my feet all the way up the tower, and take the drop with my hands in the air the whole way down. I ask my friends all the time if they want to go to KI and have a Drop Tower fun day. Nothing I've ridden at KI or CP compares to the adrenaline surge DT gives me. Here is an onride vid someone took.. I watch this like 10 times a day But when you get to be my age Adrenaline Surge = Heart Attack!!!

Those would be the top ten lists on the Travel Chanel. I can't give you exact anythings, but they do roller coaster shows a lot. Top Ten Woodies Top Ten Thrill Rides Top Ten Steel coasters... Last night is was Top Ten Thrill rides Firehawk was on there, but number one was Kingda Ka
-
Beast is on the top ten woodies list every year, SOB is not !!! LOL
-
You have to be 48" tall to ride Flight Deck, but 54" to ride The Crypt. The Crypt is not a coaster, but rather a Top Spin type ride. Here is the link so you can look at each ride. http://www.pki.com/attractions/category.cfm?ac_id=18

I would guess it's just to make the BIG hill stand out
