It used to be Disney's Golf Resort back in the day, I believe? -
No more Chick-Fil-A at Cedar Point!
Hoeter replied to IndyGuy4KI's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Something I just realized, and I'm not sure if it's been brought up already or not. The closest Chick-Fil-A to Cedar Point now that the one in the park is gone? One in Perrysburg, which is south of Toledo. The rest are southwest of Cleveland. None of which are within 35 miles of the park. Kings Island? 4 within 10 miles of the park. Mason, Springdale, West Chester, and Bridgewater Falls. -
Walt Disney World's Middle Class Problem

The only hotels on the monorail line are the Contemporary, Polynesian, and Grand Floridian? I swore there was one more in there somewhere. -
There were also numerous occasions where I saw the single rider line on Diamondback abused, which also possibly lead to its discontinuation.

Walt Disney World's Middle Class Problem
Hoeter replied to Hoeter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I've been to Walt Disney World several times. First visit was in 1998, where we visited Magic Kingdom and Disney's MGM Studios. We also visited Universal Studios, and keep in mind Islands of Adventure was still under construction- it would open the following year, but Animal Kingdom opened just days before we arrived. Second visit was 2001, this time around we visited just Magic Kingdom and also visited Universal Studios. These two visits we stayed offsite at a Days Inn or a Howard Johnson on U.S. 192, the main drag heading east toward Kissimmee. Third visit was in 2007, and this time we did stay on property at the All-Star Music Resort. We took my car down as it was fairly new and had a decent amount of room for a family of four and their luggage for the week. With the transportation onsite (buses, monorails, ferryboats, etc) I maybe drove 100 miles the entire week if we went to the beach, had to go to the store, left property to eat, etc. We visited all four Disney parks that year...Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot, and Disney's MGM Studios. I have not been back to Walt Disney World since. Last visit to Central Florida was in 2009. That year, I visited both Universal Parks and got to experience a B&M for the first time. We stayed offsite then as well. A trip to Florida is long overdue. Eventually, I would LOVE to stay at the Contemporary Resort. The way it was constructed fascinates me and the monorail system is fascinating to me as well. -
I work Monday thru Friday. 3 of those days I work 9AM to 6PM, the other two I work 11AM to 8PM and the other 7AM to 4PM. Numerous visits last season and the season before were after work. I usually hold off until the park starts doing 10PM closes. Going up to the park when getting off at 6PM isn't worth it for me when the park closes at 8. I try to visit during the week as much as I can, as wait times could be significantly less. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

Anyone know why Kings Island is closed this week?

http://www.themeparktourist.com/features/20151226/31146/disney-attempting-price-middle-class-out-walt-disney-world $105 for a one day ticket to the Magic Kingdom. I'm assuming the other three parks are the same price. $102 for a one day ticket either to Universal Studios or Islands of Adventure. Hoeter, remembering when tickets to Disney were less than $50 per person, per park, per day when he first visited... 18 years ago. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

6 Of The Best Theme Park Attractions
Hoeter replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Been on 5 of the 6. Have not been down to Universal since the Harry Potter attractions opened. Last visit was in 2009. -
I'd like to maybe plan some trips with you all this year. I know Dollywood was one that was brought up before, thinking March 20th for opening day?

I got my money's worth in 2014 when I went on that trip with you all Rick. Platinum easily paid for itself. So did the Six Flags pass. Again, money is the key word here Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

I've been wanting to check out Six Flags Great America. I would need to renew my Six Flags membership. I get into Valleyfair! with my platinum pass. Always wanted to check out Hersheypark as well. I remember passing Kennywood on the way to Dorney Park last year.

Received word last week that I will have one month of paid time off, not including sick time in 2016. I'm currently looking at some parks to visit as I've expanded my horizons over the past couple of years. 2014 Dorney Park Cedar Point Six Flags America Six Flags Great Adventure Carowinds Kings Dominion Kings Island (obviously) Stricker's Grove 2015 Carowinds Cedar Point Kings Island Below are the parks I want to visit in 2016 Kings Island (obviously) Cedar Point (definitely want to check out Valravn) Dollywood (never have been here, definitely want to check out Lightning Rod) Holiday World (have never been here, definitely want to check out Voyage and Thunderbird) Kentucky Kingdom (if they are still open and *if* they will let me in) Any suggestions on other parks to visit? Once again, I have a platinum pass for the upcoming season. Thanks!

We (me, LoraX, NoChickens, Mrs. NoChickens and company) stayed at a Motel 6 in Fredericksburg, which is about 40 miles north of the park on I-95. Easy access to I-95, we stayed here for one night before hitting up Kings Dominion and finally heading to Carowinds

Sent you an email Don. I get off work at 6pm (I work in Amelia) so I'd be at the mercy of traffic to be in the park at 6:30pm sharp (SR 32, I-275, I-71) Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

I rode Row 10 on the green train of Diamondback. Jackhammers horribly... Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

I met up with Oldschool75 last night around 4:30. Longest wait was maybe 10 minutes for Diamondback. Rode that once, as well as Vortex, Invertigo, Adventure Express, Racer, Woodstock Gliders. Two rides each on Banshee and The Beast. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

I wonder what the likelihood of this is seeing that they just installed an elevator for the International Restaurant Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Okay...driving through Lexington yesterday on the way to Myrtle Beach and I heard a radio spot for KK. Cited USA Today that KK has one of the best waterparks in the United States. So much self worth in that ad. I needed a good laugh yesterday and I got it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
