  1. Millennium Force is a good ride. It's all about speed and height IMO. I-305 marries Maverick and Millennium Force to create the most intense coaster layout I've ever experienced. Good pops of air on this ride. Fury 325 is all about speed and height. The turn before the underground dive took me by surprise and was one of the most enjoyable parts of the ride for me. Since you have Platinum Passes, definitely ride all 3 if you can and see for yourself which one is best. For me, Fury 325 was in between Millie and I-305 in terms of intensity but all three have great experiences. Can't go wrong with either one honestly. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Wish we would have run into you also! You and Dee really need a night ride on it. The neon looks amazing! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I see what you did there... The Fury 325 crew on Saturday night was busting their bottoms. There was hardly any line before close Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Me and my girlfriend took a spur of the moment trip to Charlotte. Left Cincinnati Friday night and getting ready to head back home as we speak. Went to the park yesterday and got in line for Fury I'd say about 4pm or so. All queues filled, even the temporary queue behind the regular line. Probably a 2+ hour wait. We went back to the hotel to catch up on sleep since we had very little before. We went back to the park about 9pm to at least get a night ride on Fury 325. Wait time 45 minutes. We ended up riding in Row 2. It did not disappoint. That first drop was amazing and the ride itself provided many surprises. I loved the non stop speed and different elements and to be honest I enjoyed it even more than I-305. Definitely get down here to ride it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Thank you for sharing! I rode I-305 and Millie for the first time last year and can't wait to see how Fury 325 stacks up against them! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Cedar Point gets my vote. Great coasters, great scenery, great vibes throughout the park. I've been to 5 Cedar Fair parks...Dorney Park, Kings Island, Cedar Point, Kings Dominion, and Carowinds.
  7. We were there the Monday after which would have been July 7th...
  8. A memorable Fourth of July weekend in 2014! I'm hoping to get back to KD, Carowinds, and NJFTP this season if time and money allows. Lora, don't you still have the onride photo I believe from when Katie took her first ride on I-305?
  9. Planning on being there as time off is approved. Taking a half day Thursday and will be up there on Friday. Unsure on when we are leaving. Lets hope Top Thrill Dragster is open and there are no unforeseen water main breaks in the parking lot come Saturday morning...
  10. The green looks amazing! Can't wait to get back down there! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I've ridden both coasters from Intamin and B&M. Overall, most Intamin coasters I've been on provide an out-of-control experience (El Toro, I-305, Maverick) Overall experience though? I have to go with B&M. Reliability and design? I'm going with B&M on that one too. How many B&M coasters have had track replaced due to the extreme forces put on riders? None that I've ever heard of, unlike Intamin (Maverick and I-305) The only coaster I've greyed out on? An Intamin
  12. That first drop...wow Hopefully I get down that way this year! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I had the unfortunate opportunity to visit SFA this past year. NoChickens was on the same trip as me; him and wife decided to skip SFA and head straight towards Kings Dominion where we met up with them later on in the day. Wild One, Roar, and Apocalypse were the only coasters there that I enjoyed, Mind Eraser has the distinction of being the worst coaster I've ever been on. Being at SFA made me miss being at NJFTP the day before. How I wish I would have been in tow with NoChickens that day...
  14. Hands down, 2014 was the best season that I've had as a coaster enthusiast. 19 visits to Kings Island itself in 2014, Banshee Media Day and GOCC Midsummer Scream included. Dorney Park, Six Flags Great Adventure, Six Flags America, Kings Dominion, Cedar Point, Carowinds, and Stricker's Grove were also visited for the first time in 2014, all in company of KIC members that I've formed lifelong friendships with. Also, I started the 2014 season with 41 coaster credits. Today I now sit at 82. Next year, will I finally get my 100th credit? This season consisted of a water main break (and the countless phone calls I got from friends as I was on my way back to Cincinnati), greyouts on Intimidator 305, 2 painful rides on Magnum XL-200, being deathly intimidated of Kingda Ka (and not riding it, but one of these days I will!), ejector air on El Toro, a bug filled mouth after a front row ride on Mean Streak, deciding not to ride Mantis while getting ready to board (turns out I should have ridden), long car rides, Singing Mushrooms, an evacuation from Rebel Yell, and many other memories along the way. I closed out the 2014 season this evening with a night ride on The Beast. I stopped by for just a little bit to unwind and get a night ride on this coaster and this coaster only. Those of you who are friends with me on Facebook know that it's been a stressful week for me as my Dad had a mild to moderate stroke Wednesday night into Thursday. Fortunately, it was caught in enough time and the staff at University Hospital took good care of him. He is now back home with little to no lasting effects. 42 rides on Banshee, 12 rides on The Beast, and 11 rides on Diamondback. Can't wait for 2015! Will I finally get my 100th credit?
  15. Just a few days out from Friday, do I smell a contest?
  16. I remember going to Fantasy Farm right before it closed in the early 1990's (1992 to be exact) Here's more information on Fantasy Farm (http://www.forgottenoh.com/Fantasy/fantasyfarm.html) I was out in Middletown the other night bringing food to my girlfriend and I passed LeSourdesville on Route 4. Sign still there and all with a big sign for Couch's RV. Jerry Couch is not on my good side, I'll put it that way.
  17. Set it up for next Friday, I will gladly participate. My record is 50+ in half an hour. Never felt so bad in my entire life, but was it worth it!
  18. A certain little birdy told me something. I think it goes something like this... "Those who don't know, tell and those who know, don't tell"
  19. As I discovered last season, there's actually a seat even better than the Toomer seat. - homestar92, recent 7-1 convert (seriously, on the first drop, you get a pop of airtime that may just be the best in Ohio!) 7-1 is actually my favorite seat on both Vortex and The Bat, and I agree with you about that first drop. Wow, what a rush. Didn't want to scare the pants off of my girlfriend as it was her first ride. Hell, that first drop in 7-1 takes me by surprise most of the time. Most of my rides this year actually have been in 7-1 but I wanted to take it easy on my girlfriend. She actually complained about head banging in 5-1. Row 7 on Diamondback, Row 11 on The Beast, 5-1 on Vortex, Row 5 on Flight of Fear and yes, she sat in 8-4 on Banshee and absolutely LOVED IT!
  20. I rode Vortex a little bit after 11pm on Friday. No issues from what I saw at that time. Empty station for the most part which meant my girlfriend's first ride was in the Ron Toomer seat!
  21. I did not know that Cedar Fair was self insured, so that's news to me. I figured since Haunt is an event that goes past the Midnight hour that would have been the reason it's not permitted, then again we have Midnight closes in July. Andrew, learnin' stuff...
  22. So it would reopen as Kings Island's Soak City and then be renamed simply Soak City and then possibly close after that? What is it you say, running for the door? No, completely different situation. If Kings Island were to experience a colossal failure, the land would be way too valuable to keep as a water park. It would be a multi million dollar Mason housing development. Tom Grossman wouldn't know what to do with himself! Andrew, running for the door!
  23. I didn't count Flight Deck and The Bat as two separate credits. It's the same ride experience, just a different color and a new name. My personal opinion...if it drastically changes the ride experience as the Mantis to Rougarou conversion will, I count each as a different credit. If the ride is retracked like The Beast and The Racer I don't think it should count as a new credit, same as when Son of Beast switched from the Premier Trains to the Gerstlauer ones. I would like to see Don chime in on this with his thoughts...
  24. Last night when I was there, security was running the wand over people coming in and asking people to empty their pockets. Still someone could have brought a weapon into the park and wrapped it in aluminum foil causing the wand to not detect it (Ryan I'm sure you saw this happen a time or two with merchandise at the Big Blue Box- I sure did) or they could have concealed something around their ankle or low enough that the wand wouldn't have detected it. Generally, I felt pretty safe last night and I saw a good amount of security personnel as we made our way around the park. I have never felt unsafe at Kings Island, but for what it's worth Cedar Point, Kings Island, and I believe Dorney Park are the only parks in the Cedar Fair chain that I did not encounter a metal detector on my last visit, save for the wand last night. I'm not sure exactly what happened but I did see Security hauling along at a pretty good pace toward Coney Maul last evening about that time. To answer your question on incidents Italian Job 2005, my girlfriend asked me also why re-entry was not allowed last night. From what I've heard, it's a liability issue as someone could go out into the parking lot, consume alcohol, and re-enter the park which could potentially cause issues. It's something I don't believe Cedar Fair's legal team and the insurance underwriters would want to chance. She also asked me why they would not disclose why Diamondback was down for a little bit while we were next in line to board- I had to try my best to explain that one to her as she isn't used to dating a coaster enthusiast just yet. Just my two cents...
  25. Has it been confirmed that B&M will be using the old restraint system used on other Floorless models or are they going to be using the vest system similar to Banshee?
