  1. Quoting Purdude86.: I agree. That's why I'm always mixed on getting a giga at the park. Would love to see us get one but something new and different, not just bigger, really helps to enhance the park and make it more diverse. Gigas are fun but it wouldn't be vastly different from Diamondback unless there was something new to it. I do find it a bit funny though that all three coaster in Action Zone now are ones that hang below the track. There's no contest when comparing any of the B&M hyper coasters I've been on and Fury 325, in my opinion. Granted I've only been on 3 of them...Diamondback, Nitro at NJFTP, and Intimidator at Carowinds. All three are within the same speed range with Diamondback and Nitro both at 80mph , Intimidator at 75mph. All have decent airtime but the increase in speed and height made Fury 325 truly different from any of the B&M hypers. It's a matter of when not if Kings Island gets theirs I believe. Granted KD didn't have anything of that height when I-305 opened and the last coaster Carowinds got was their Intimidator, I could see it happening here. I haven't quite gotten the hang of this Tapatalk app. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. EDIT: Double Post
  3. Charlotte-Douglas Airport is only 10-15 miles from the park. One of the videos from Media Day showed an airplane passing above the lift hill on Fury 325. Cool and eerie at the same time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Thank you for sharing. I agree that I-305 is worth the trip alone. Favorite steel coaster by far. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Invertigo

The only Vekoma Boomerang I enjoyed was Carolina Cobra. Firehawk is a ride that I have to be in the mood for. Mind Eraser at Six Flags America, a Vekoma SLC? One of the most painful coasters I've ever been on. No lie. The only enjoyable Vekoma I've ever ridden was Rock N' Roller Coaster at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Vekoma is not my favorite manufacturer, so I don't tend to ride them all that often. I would hate to see them get rid of Invertigo. Can't picture the entrance to Kings Island without it.
  6. Nahtazu. That one word brings back memories...
  7. I don't have a KI map for 2015 yet but if I'm thinking correctly it's the same style Kings Dominion had last year and Carowinds started doing this year. The map is on one side with all points of interest and the park policies are on the reverse side. Refer to the map I picked up when I was down at Carowinds two weeks ago for what their map looks like for this year. Their map was similar to KI's last year with their B&M hyper, Intimidator, on the front. Sorry for the bad quality of the picture as its a long shape and hard to fit it with the camera on my iPhone 6 Plus. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. In previous years, you could get a free replacement if you had yet to use the pass that season. (eg. if you renewed in the fall, but lost the pass before spring) I don't know whether this is still the policy. Since you have used your 2015 pass, you would need to pay the appropriate replacement fee. Note that you can only do this once per season; if you lose it again, you're out of luck. We used it down at Carowinds a few weeks ago so looks like we will be paying the $30. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Looking forward to seeing this Jordan! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Quick question for you all... Me and the girlfriend lost our passes. Being the first time this has happened, do we get them replaced for free or do we pay $15 each for a replacement? Second...we both have Platinum Passes and are looking to add on the Season Long Dining Plan. Is this possible and is there any possibility in doing Easy Pay on these? Confused Hoeter... 11. Millennium Force is a good ride. It's all about speed and height IMO. I-305 marries Maverick and Millennium Force to create the most intense coaster layout I've ever experienced. Good pops of air on this ride. Fury 325 is all about speed and height. The turn before the underground dive took me by surprise and was one of the most enjoyable parts of the ride for me. Since you have Platinum Passes, definitely ride all 3 if you can and see for yourself which one is best. For me, Fury 325 was in between Millie and I-305 in terms of intensity but all three have great experiences. Can't go wrong with either one honestly. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Wish we would have run into you also! You and Dee really need a night ride on it. The neon looks amazing! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I see what you did there... The Fury 325 crew on Saturday night was busting their bottoms. There was hardly any line before close Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Me and my girlfriend took a spur of the moment trip to Charlotte. Left Cincinnati Friday night and getting ready to head back home as we speak. Went to the park yesterday and got in line for Fury I'd say about 4pm or so. All queues filled, even the temporary queue behind the regular line. Probably a 2+ hour wait. We went back to the hotel to catch up on sleep since we had very little before. We went back to the park about 9pm to at least get a night ride on Fury 325. Wait time 45 minutes. We ended up riding in Row 2. It did not disappoint. That first drop was amazing and the ride itself provided many surprises. I loved the non stop speed and different elements and to be honest I enjoyed it even more than I-305. Definitely get down here to ride it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Thank you for sharing! I rode I-305 and Millie for the first time last year and can't wait to see how Fury 325 stacks up against them! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Cedar Point gets my vote. Great coasters, great scenery, great vibes throughout the park. I've been to 5 Cedar Fair parks...Dorney Park, Kings Island, Cedar Point, Kings Dominion, and Carowinds.
  17. We were there the Monday after which would have been July 7th...
  18. A memorable Fourth of July weekend in 2014! I'm hoping to get back to KD, Carowinds, and NJFTP this season if time and money allows. Lora, don't you still have the onride photo I believe from when Katie took her first ride on I-305?
  19. Planning on being there as time off is approved. Taking a half day Thursday and will be up there on Friday. Unsure on when we are leaving. Lets hope Top Thrill Dragster is open and there are no unforeseen water main breaks in the parking lot come Saturday morning...
  20. The green looks amazing! Can't wait to get back down there! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I've ridden both coasters from Intamin and B&M. Overall, most Intamin coasters I've been on provide an out-of-control experience (El Toro, I-305, Maverick) Overall experience though? I have to go with B&M. Reliability and design? I'm going with B&M on that one too. How many B&M coasters have had track replaced due to the extreme forces put on riders? None that I've ever heard of, unlike Intamin (Maverick and I-305) The only coaster I've greyed out on? An Intamin
  22. That first drop...wow Hopefully I get down that way this year! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I had the unfortunate opportunity to visit SFA this past year. NoChickens was on the same trip as me; him and wife decided to skip SFA and head straight towards Kings Dominion where we met up with them later on in the day. Wild One, Roar, and Apocalypse were the only coasters there that I enjoyed, Mind Eraser has the distinction of being the worst coaster I've ever been on. Being at SFA made me miss being at NJFTP the day before. How I wish I would have been in tow with NoChickens that day...
  24. Hands down, 2014 was the best season that I've had as a coaster enthusiast. 19 visits to Kings Island itself in 2014, Banshee Media Day and GOCC Midsummer Scream included. Dorney Park, Six Flags Great Adventure, Six Flags America, Kings Dominion, Cedar Point, Carowinds, and Stricker's Grove were also visited for the first time in 2014, all in company of KIC members that I've formed lifelong friendships with. Also, I started the 2014 season with 41 coaster credits. Today I now sit at 82. Next year, will I finally get my 100th credit? This season consisted of a water main break (and the countless phone calls I got from friends as I was on my way back to Cincinnati), greyouts on Intimidator 305, 2 painful rides on Magnum XL-200, being deathly intimidated of Kingda Ka (and not riding it, but one of these days I will!), ejector air on El Toro, a bug filled mouth after a front row ride on Mean Streak, deciding not to ride Mantis while getting ready to board (turns out I should have ridden), long car rides, Singing Mushrooms, an evacuation from Rebel Yell, and many other memories along the way. I closed out the 2014 season this evening with a night ride on The Beast. I stopped by for just a little bit to unwind and get a night ride on this coaster and this coaster only. Those of you who are friends with me on Facebook know that it's been a stressful week for me as my Dad had a mild to moderate stroke Wednesday night into Thursday. Fortunately, it was caught in enough time and the staff at University Hospital took good care of him. He is now back home with little to no lasting effects. 42 rides on Banshee, 12 rides on The Beast, and 11 rides on Diamondback. Can't wait for 2015! Will I finally get my 100th credit?
  25. Just a few days out from Friday, do I smell a contest?
