Daytona Beach Roller Coaster Derails
silver2005 replied to McSalsa's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
USA Today reports 6 injured, hospitalized. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation-now/2018/06/14/florida-roller-coaster-derailment-daytona-beach-boardwalk/704121002/ -
Update- KK will be pushed back to July. I've just had too many things pop up recently to fit it in this month. I'll probably go for the end of July. Here's my itinerary for the trip- Friday- Leave Cincy at 5:30-5:45 am, get breakfast en route, get to Erie/Waldameer between noon and 1 pm Saturday- Travel to Allentown early, planning on a similar arrival time, options thereafter include Dorney's or Hershey's water park, explore Allentown, or venture to Philly Sunday- Dorney Park (changed since I got an unlimited ticket for Knoebels only good on weekdays, Knoebels will be where I get to my 100th credit) Monday- Hersheypark, aka, the best day of the trip Tuesday- Knoebels Wednesday- Six Flags Great Adventure (may be subject to change based on weather, may place NJFTP on the day with the best weather but I'm still keeping it on a weekday, this park is also likely where I get my 100th in that event), I am prepared to get a Flash Pass if necessary Thursday- Back to Cincy

No disobeying the 11th Commandment please.

The Eiffel Tower is also your friend in eyeing queue lengths quickly without having to traverse the whole park. For most of the park at least.

I ain't gonna lie- part of me wants to re-visit Michigan's Adventure when I do CP in late July. Muskegon has been growing on me. EDIT: There is a slight miscalculation on my part regarding my 100th coaster location. I did the pay one price thing for Knoebels which isn't valid on Sundays, so I will be doing Dorney on Sunday and Knoebels on Tuesday, so Knoebels will likely be the site of my 100th credit, thus, either Twister or Phoenix will be my 100th.

Markers at Cedar Point

If they put a flying coaster on Millennium Island, then they should have Millennium Force thread through a huge pretzel loop. Just sayin'. -
The only time I'm using it is from Allentown, PA to Jackson, NJ and back. Otherwise, it's gonna add a significant amount of time going all around that, and with Six Flags Great Adventure likely being last along with me being a bit on the tired side by then, I'll take anything quicker in terms of driving. My hotel is already close to 2 hours away anyhow via the quickest route through the PA and NJ turnpikes.

^Thanks for finding the High and Mighty theme. I've been searching for that song for YEARS.

Yeah, for some reason, Red beats Blue to the lift and that pretty much determines the race right there.

My parents as well as all the coworkers I talked to about this still think Kentucky Kingdom is operated by SIX.

Managing Personal Belongings in the Park
silver2005 replied to whengodsaysgo's topic in Kings Island
Early on in dealing with my medical condition, I had to carry a backpack with various items around with me at parks (won't get into specifics, but I needed a backpack for stuff). I usually planned ahead on my park route to group together rides that didn't allow for loose articles (example- at KI, I would group together WindSeeker before it had the bins, Firehawk and Flight of Fear together, this was before Banshee arrived). Granted, that was a very short amount of time where I needed that and I only went to KI, HP and Dollywood (Dollywood was incredibly well accommodating) in that time, but I did mock-plan for a few other parks. I would hope that a park that had a full no loose articles on any ride policy would provide super cheap or free lockers, and/or at least have a policy where those with medical conditions that had to keep certain items on them to keep that with them in line (like a form or wristband or something). -
I saw a queue TV part on the ride waits and it shows the wait of KI's Backlot that's labeled on the video as Canada's Wonderland's while in actuality being KD's Backlot.
