How many amusement parks (and theme parks) have you visited?
silver2005 replied to McSalsa's topic in KI Polls
^I'm breaking my rule for once and going to CP this July. SV is worth it. -
Webcams show its pretty dead today.

^Could be both... https://rcdb.com/15168.htm

^malem and Goble usually torch me at Boo Blasters.

It has to do with the awkward block sections. The mentioned block area is between the top of the first lift and the top of the 2nd lift.

Updated list with stuff crossed out. - Get a night ride and a post-rain ride on Mystic Timbers (latest I've done on MT was during sunset with it still being light out) - Night ride on Backlot - Take more pictures at the park - Visit the park for Winterfest at least once - Eat at Coney BBQ at least once - Pray that Juke Box is not busy one day and eat there at least once - Have at least one funnel cake and one order of fries from Rivertown Potato Works - Check out shows other than OTC and whatever is in KI Theater and Festhaus - Ride the Coney flats and Grand Carousel more often (no marathon please) - Fireworks rides on Vortex, Diamondback, Banshee and WindSeeker - At least one night ride on Beast in 1-1 - Sunset ride on WindSeeker - Not suck at Boo Blasters when with other KICers - Get a zen ride on something - Night ride on Bat - Update KI wardrobe with at least 1 new shirt

Trip Details Cincy to Erie PA hotel- 5 hrs 15 min Erie Hotel to Waldameer- 20 min Erie hotel to Allentown Hotel- 6 hours (staying off the PA Turnpike until NJFTP) Allentown Hotel to Dorney- 15 minutes " to Hershey- 1 hr 20 min " to Knoebel's- 1 hr 45 min " to NJFTP- 1 hr 55 min With all I saved on hotels and park admissions, I actually have a nice bit of spending money for this trip. I am pulling a malem and leaving at 5 am for Erie on day 1. I'm psyched for this summer!

From my experience, the first 2 weeks worth of weekdays after Memorial Day are super prime times to go in terms of light crowds. I always try to go at least once or twice in that span.

Are there going to be any acoustic bits added to the set up or is it just to make it look shiny? Glad to see this show get some TLC. silver2005, who knows this show is automatically better because it has saxophones.

How, pray tell, do you conceal a 300+ ft lift hill and all the other large hills to follow? A giga is many things, but secluded isn't one of them.

How Far Do You Live From Kings Island (and how do you get there)
silver2005 replied to McSalsa's topic in KI Polls
^I'd consider that a bad thing. I'd never get any school work done, especially if there was coaster construction in the off season. I'd hate to have gone to Kings HS or Mason HS. -
@Tera Ryzing And what law, pray tell, could people possibly be breaking with that choice? Its no different than taking that list and transferring it on here via posting.

That's not how context works.

So I noticed a few things at the KI Skylines that aren't quite up to par with the outside restaurants- - the buns aren't steamed enough - they put onions on before chili, should be the other way around to avoid having onions fall into the chili - they don't use coney racks - they put too much cheese on coneys and not enough on ways - they don't fill the way containers with spaghetti - they open up the buns too much

Bat has single train operations today. Not too bad for a Saturday otherwise.

Also, you're not taking into account friction and resistances between a bunch of different materials grinding together. Also the coaster doesn't spend the entire drop at a 90 degree angle of decent.

@Tera Ryzing, you obviously need a bit of a history lesson on why US parks avoid Intamin. http://rec.roller-coaster.narkive.com/wnY2sKrx/bizarre-quote-from-sandor-kernacs-of-intamin-on-the-sros-accident http://www.thebatavian.com/howard-owens/final-sheriffs-office-report-death-dariens-ride-steel-contains-new-details/27870 Rewind a bit to 2011. Darien Lake's Ride of Steel ejected a rider that had a prosthetic leg. Obviously, there was neglect from the ride operators' point of view, but Intamin also released a statement regarding the incident. Sandor Kernacs, then Intamin's US president, said that "accidents can't be avoided" and even went further to ask "the question is, what number is acceptable?" That's a big red flag for any park. It suggests that Intamin goes about its innovations and pushing of the envelope without thinking about safety. Add to that all the incidents such as broken cables, redesigns, and more accidents thereafter, and US parks simply lost Intamin's trust. Intamin hasn't once redacted their statement and instead of trying to get back into the US market, they stick with their line of thought and are focused on overseas projects. Would I like to see Intamin make a comeback? Sure. They have some cool things in their ride designs. I certainly like a lot of the coasters from them that I've ridden. But, only with a new focus on safety in addition to whatever innovations they come up with. If CF goes with another Intamin, it hopefully means Intamin has turned that corner and I would be excited for what they bring to the table. Competition is a good thing in the industry. If not, well, they only have themselves to blame.

Give Invertigo one of those newer designed SLC trains with the vest-like restraints like on Banshee. A few of the full circuit SLC's have them.

Then I-275 E is your best option for getting around downtown. I-275 W takes you a bit more out of the way as it swings all the way out to Indiana. You'd be using about 2/3 of the loop to get to I-71 that way. I-71 makes a more eastward path, so going east on the loop would be ideal.

Is this a route you take every day? If so, what are your starting and ending locations?
