Well, its kind of laughable when they had this coaster already sitting in the park all the time they've had it, had more than 2 years to get it ready, and miss an opening date. They got the other re-opened rides that were supposed to open today going.
-
They might have had that decision long before they made the announcement. They just did everything closer to how and when they wanted to unveil Banshee. Even at that time,it wasn't a ride the park was happy with having sit there. Also, they did answer a lot of questions and the people they banned said some pretty nasty stuff if you recall.
-
Except Kings Island was then getting ready to demolish it, a ride which clearly caused them discomfort in more ways than one, while KK has boasted pridefully about this May 30th opening for T3 for quite some time, not to mention had more than enough time to get it ready. They did get around to answering them on FB.

Small correction. Not even about 10 minutes after I posted that, the Kingdom's PR has several cut and paste word-for-word responses apologizing for the delay on several of the comments asking about T3.
-
I've noticed other than that one response, KK has been dodging questions on T3 on their FB page.
-
T3's opening just been pushed back again, June 6th now according to the website. At least its on a Saturday...
-
T3 Update- In response to a comment, KK has confirmed T3 will open June 3rd. It isn't mentioned anywhere else though. Expect some angry guests this weekend.
-
In the spirit of optimism about T3- I wonder if its just that Kentucky Kingdom found time to test it, just not when the park was open? They might very well make tomorrow's opening, its just they didn't feel the need to share that info.

It probably wasn't going to be a Mack hyper because, going with what faeriewench is stating for B&M, Mack hasn't gone to 200 ft yet. Do they have the capability? Certainly, but B&M has already been there and you know what you're getting. Now, SEAS does have experience with Mack and their new trains at the San Diego park, so I'm guessing Mack had a bid on the table (along with Morgan I imagine since SEAS has one of those), but B&M stood out more to them. I imagine CF's recent work with B&M and the reactions to each of those additions were a big part of that decision. It is a type that will be unique to the region. And if you do some reading around these forums, you know why they probably didn't go with Intamin.

The lines are, for the most part, pretty light. However, the school groups typically stay in big groups, so a walk-on wait can jump to a 10-15 minute wait instantly. They usually leave by dinner, but then you also have the late comers coming off of work for some evening rides.

The two sides were essentially mirrored courses.

I dig the purple along with the typical aqua color scheme you'd expect on a marine themed coaster. Also loving the 0 car for this (the car in front without the seats and has the shark head). It looks super sharp (in more ways than one). I'm kind of surprised they didn't decide to add a splash with this. Guess they left that to Manta. I hope the over-bank hill after the first drop stays true to the angles it shows in the renderings, it looks to be amazing. It does come as a surprise to me that Sea World is breaking the 200 ft barrier. I initially thought Busch Gardens Tampa would have been the first in Florida to go with a hyper of some sort. I also find it weird they aren't going with 3 trains for this unless they are running cycles not unlike Leviathan and Banshee, both with no MCBR and 3 trains. EDIT: After seeing the rendering again, it does in deed have a brake run. I call it a LCBR (late course brake run) since its so close to the end but has an element or two before the final brakes, kind of like with Gatekeeper and Shambhala (a B&M hyper at PortAventura in Spain).

Carowinds' Thunder Road to race no more

Why not a GCI racing coaster? Lightning Racer 2.0 anyone? -
^But I thought they only used one and used the other as a parts donor?
-
Will T3 maintain 1 train operations or does it have 2 trains?
-
Probably a dumb question but.... Still curiuos of opinions.

This thread is a prime example of why I love KICentral. One good thing about the chance of rain- it'll mean low crowds. -
Going by the webcams, it looks like a typical Sunday to me. Somewhat lengthy lines, but not as lengthy as they would be on a Saturday. However, Soak City looks packed.

I'm glad the shows are starting up. I can get through the park's rides pretty quick so some shows help kill some time until I'm ready for another round on rides. Unfortunately, my favorite show doesn't open until June 12th. silver2005, a musician at heart.

Having a ride inspected weekly isn't even a choice on Roller Coaster Tycoon. Why in the world would that be appropriate in real life? Please tell me you're being sarcastic with that remark. All parks (except KK as we're finding out) inspects all their rides each day. Yes, all the coasters have the entire length of track walked and checked. RCT isn't something to infer information on how real parks operate. You should really read the rest of the thread to get more info on KK's situation. Many people want the park to succeed. Its their own actions that warrant worry. They continually do things that set the park up for failure, at the expense of the Commonwealth's taxpayers no less. Government has no business running amusement parks.

But Colossus was just out of retirement when RMC did their work. TT has been sitting for years. Who knows what the structure is like.

So if we're going to see this Twisted Twins re-do for 2016, shouldn't we see work being started already? Rehab work on a woodie, let alone two of them, takes a long time.
