On Dollywood- it usually follows the same kind of crowds as a usual amusement park does. Mid-July should be no exception, so weekdays should be better, though I'd try to go before Friday. Along with the rides, try to check out at least one show. The entertainment department is top notch there. You're by one of the biggest things to do there in the GSM National Park. Just pick any of the walking trails or driving tours and enjoy the scenery. I like spending a day just walking through Gatlinburg, even if you don't do anything specific, its just a nice little place. Putt-putt courses are big there, though personally, I think the better ones are in Gatlinburg over Pigeon Forge. There are a few places like a movie car museum, Ripley's Believe It or Not, a chairlift which takes you up a mountain, and a few other things of that nature. Sure, there are tourist traps, but some can perk your interests. There's also a Titanic museum in Pigeon Forge. I won't go through everything as I'd be going on forever.

I think it kind of looks better with a few less lights. Gives it a more mysterious look.

The park says mid-May, so I imagine in a few weeks.

I would like to think that the Coca-Cola Refresh Station in Coney (near Dodgems) would be able to since they sell both cotton candy and popcorn.

This meal plan seems like a Pandora's Box type situation that Cedar Fair has opened. It seems great on paper for both sides, but when you start to pick it apart and you have incidents like all the changes its undergone (or attempted to change but didn't), the inconsistencies within the park to implement it, and little bits like the thing we had at the Reds HOF Grille throwing wrenches in the works, its just working poorly. And it would be foolish to go back and cancel them being sold. CF seems to have put themselves between a rock and a hard place, so to speak.

Yeah, the food department did have some improvements from opening day, but not by much. I'd give them a C- at this point.

They were cycling them well into the evening. Saw some go through as late as 8:50 pm.

Could be worse. Alton Towers has a restriction where they can't build above the tree line because it's in a conservation area. They've managed to get around that little hiccup pretty well.

Why? B&M is far more technologically advance in the coaster world. They made a LSM launch coaster! Why would you want a different manufacture? It will just break down. B&M make the most comfortable rides! That rough shuffling was designed on purpose to be Diamondbacks rattler. There are no cons with B&M they never go wrong. First, don't kid yourself on Diamondback having the rattle on purpose. Just get that notion out of your head. Do you pay attention to other designers than B&M? Mack is undergoing some big changes with their latest train design, seen on the likes of Blue Fire at Europa Park and Manta at Sea World in San Diego. They've actually been taking a lot of Intamin's designs and improving on them. I don't think it'll be long until we see a Mack hyper coaster. Gerstlauer and Mauer Sohne have some neat ideas. Premier Rides have a bit of potential as well. One thing about B&M- They don't cater to the intermediate guests. Their rides have a height requirement of 54 inches or higher for most of them. Some people also like to ride coasters, but not the more intense ones. They do have a family inverted coaster design, but I still think there are much better options than B&M for that. Also, B&M doesn't design wood coasters. You need to cover demographics other than the thrill seekers at some point.

I know y'all like to try and get snaps, but its also a nice gentle ride to get in to get a break from the thrills. It can be thoroughly enjoyed without snapping the cables.

Buying Fast Lane would help immensely in this case as well if you go on a crowded day.

What exactly are you asking? Like...are you asking for a makeshift day plan on how the crowds flow, or are you trying to ride as much in as little time as possible...?

My way was through a psychological method known as flooding (though unintentionally so). My family usually went a few times a year, and up until about the time I was in 3rd grade, I wasn't a big fan of coasters. Even Beastie was too much for me, though I did fine on Racer for some reason. My first ride on Beast nearly scared me off them for good. But I liked watching them. Part of the way I convinced myself to get on them was just watching people coming off, seeing them enjoy themselves. My first ride on Top Gun was a bit different as, to me, it acted differently than the other rides. It was quieter, it didn't have as many fancy elements, so I gravitated towards it pretty quickly. Through a combination of the exposure to coasters and that feeling of wanting to be one of those riders coming off with smiles, I kind of built myself up mentally to try the bigger ones. With Vortex easily coming off as the most intimidating of them to me (at the time, KI's largest coaster), I did that. It was a dusk ride, and for me, it was getting past the first drop. I wasn't a big fan of airtime yet, plus going through the loops concerned me. I came off realizing it was an easier thing than I made it out to be. The very next ride was my first Beast night ride. On my first trip to CP in 1999, it took me a while to warm up to Magnum, though I rode near equally large rides like Mean Streak, Raptor and Mantis with ease. Something about going over 200 ft got to me. It seemed pretty high at the time. My first Magnum ride was also a night ride, which is now something I make sure I do every visit I make to Sandusky. The ride that truly got me hooked was Medusa at Six Flags Great Adventure. It was one of the pinnacles of the coaster industry at the time and it made a lasting impression on me, one of the wildest rides I've ever done and the floorless aspect really made it come together about what a coaster could do.

On the opposite side of the spectrum in terms of new stations covering Kings Island, I find that some good stuff comes from Dayton news producers.

I thought SIX and FUN compete with each other in Philly?

Unless there are no enthusiasts in the Detroit area, I'm pretty sure some have likely partaken in such a trip to Gurnee.

^That same station, recently, sent out their helicopter to cover a covered bridge re-opening in a segment which lasted all of 15 seconds and sicked it on the UC band's band camp during the whole OSU band debacle, among other asinine things. I'm not even kidding.

Oh let me count the ways. Please correct me if I'm wrong about things. I will gladly edit this post. First off, this is a taxpayers' funded park. Ed Hart and company have little to nothing at risk in reviving Kentucky Kingdom. They're using tax payer moneys, which, the land the park sits on is government owned and operated by the State Fair Board, as collateral to borrow money from the Bank of Kentucky. If (and likely, when) the park flops, the Commonwealth loses the land and they'll probably be forced to sell off the rides. This may not be your money at stake (or anyone else who lives outside the Commonwealth), but the principal of that action in and of itself is just plain wrong, using government money to have an entity operate and compete in the private sector. In the time span they had, they had more than enough time to get things together. T3 and a few other rides being re-introduced aren't opening until mid-May, yet they had 2 years to get the things necessary to make it work. Even after giving them the benefit of the doubt (which is a HUGE issue to overlook), they've just done a lousy job. The park needs much more funding than what is has received to get back on its feet. They opened the first year with a comical amount of rides, including using nothing more than a few fair rides and including the construction of a Drop Tower (yes, I'm staring to come around to that side) after a rather horrible accident with the previous one. The park is making nowhere near the amount to pay off the loans adequately. T3's paint is a pretty good indication of their financial situation. And they want to keep borrowing money and make $1.5-2 million investments per year. Oh, and let me add that I have serious doubts Twisted Twins will open next year. They've been a PR nightmare from day 1. They rely so much on social media and too little on the advertising that works that they draw low interest. They openly go after anyone who's done anything wrong in their eyes, justified or not, in the public eye. They couldn't even get a pricing structure out until just before opening day, which they now say is a 'preview weekend'. The pricing is on par with HW and Kings Island and its nowhere in the same league as those parks. If they don't think they're competing with them, they are in trouble. Seriously, would you rather pay KK's price or pay a few dollars extra and get parks of better quality only a few hours away? And now, they're targeting this site. Imagine the kind of mind of someone who is trying to rebuild a park and seems threatened by the likes of a fan site like this. He's certainly going out of his way, that's for sure. After how they treated Terpy, I'm actually legitimately afraid of Ed Hart.

Or at least direct said poster to call the park about the incident.

I've been meaning to get around to eating at the RHoFG this season. Just out of curiosity, what are the portions like there?
