Edited due to being corrected about certain information.

RCCA was fired midway through construction and SOB was finished in-house. It had to go through several re-tracking projects through its entire life, a Band-Aid style approach as it was put in the forensics report from 2006, where something was fixed over a short term period without thinking of the long term effects. Paramount did a lot without consulting a proper design firm, mainly as, I imagine, no one would touch it. I imagine even RCCA was given lots of incentive to build it at all. Werner Stengel, the main designer (who essentially designed a wood coaster like he did a steel coaster), distances himself from it.

^I imagine no one could have that much admiration for Ed Hart other than himself. I think I see his ego leaking across the Ohio River.

Thunderbird has launched!

That site and its owner have a thread about banning selfie sticks at parks, I doubt you'll see him with one. Its kind of a double edged sword with them. They do produce some decent material and any park would be really dumb to refuse their attendance, but they get away with some weird stuff and I'm not a fan of their behavior. -
I would hope they'd be advertising in Louisville. It must only be fairly local as I haven't seen any in northern Kentucky.

I haven't been to a lot of parks, and I've heard a lot of Vekomas and their uncomfortable nature, but of the ones I've ridden, I haven't found a reason to necessarily hate them. I like Invertigo's intensity every once in a while and it doesn't bang around too much. I've even had some pain free rides on it. I'm a fan of Firehawk as well. I dig the flying concept, I like its unique feeling of the riding position and its combination of elements, especially the first overbank element, the loop on your back, and the double roll. I've learned through my park visits not to judge a company too much by individual rides. Each designer has their share gems and duds.

I just had it pop in my head that...well...this red T3 is going to fade after a little while (at least, if we go by how most Vekomas' paint fades like Invertigo before it went blue). I hope Ed Hart likes pink.

If Kings Island gets a giga, the front of the park seems like the worst place with how much you have to work around vs putting it just about anywhere else.

Wow, the train wreck has started early. silver2005, watching the park from afar with some popcorn.

Describe what you mean by 'different'.

Thinking about going to Kings Island on 1 of the next few Fridays (May 1st, 8th or 15th). I want to go on my own to get out all the emotions after my last UC undergrad band concert. I'll be in need of a good ride session, that's for sure.

Invertigo has more down time then any of the coasters at Kings Island anymore. Firehawk would like to disagree. Also, compared to other similar models (both inverted Boomerangs and the Giant Inverted Boomerangs), ours has had the least amount of downtime.

+1 vote for Skylab's return from me.

I have a question to those who've been to Carowinds or Canada's Wonderland kind of recently- Do Behemoth and Intimidator have the same slow loading issues as Diamondback?
-
To the extent of any default on The Bank of Kentucky's (or its successor's) loan, yes. And now you all know why I won't set foot in Kentucky Kingdom, because all this is being done with taxpayer dollars.

A park in Norway known as TusenFryd will be adding a pair to a Vekoma designed wooden coaster known as Thundercoaster. So far, they've only been added to small coasters with some success and the rather large Hades which hasn't helped. We'll see how they help a medium size woodie. http://rcdb.com/1042.htm

I remember back in the 90's that Vortex had lines that would extend all the way to Antique Cars, sometimes to Scrambler. I was at Flight of Fear's opening day which was insane. Imagine X-Base's crowds it gets now, but with only Flight of Fear there. Yeah. I've also had to park in the grass as well, about where the new wave pool is now. Back when they had The Beast paw prints from the Eiffel Tower and it had queue lines painted in Rivertown, it would often extend to past Rivertown LaRosa's (thank goodness for the Coca-Cola Cool Zone, I miss that). Son of Beast's line would go past Delirium/King Cobra and sometimes to AE's queue.

^That's for 2 days. Single day admission at the gate is $44.99 at HW.
-
Beast has re-tracking through parts of the layout- I saw it around the 2nd drop and just after the brake run, perhaps some after the 2nd tunnel as well.
-
To me, Flight of Fear should be completely off of Fast Lane as well, Plus or not.

I haven't been on many Flying Scooter models, but from what I was told at Woodstock Gliders, they didn't pair up 2 adults at a time, I think they said something about weight issues. Is that a common practice or is something else going on with how KI is loading theirs?

KI preview night, 4/17 (only for passholders who renewed by 11/6)

Soak City cam- my eyes, the goggles do nothing. Its really bright now, but when its normal, it shows 4 slides in great need of paint.
