  1. Something tells me Smiler's days are numbered after this. Gerstlauer is going to be feeling this for a while, too. What a bad event.
  2. This stuff is only further fueling my disgust with the park. If the park does all this and doesn't claim responsibilty for anything, let alone the incompetence of how they handle things, why should I expect anything better from the rest of the staff? To me, its showing that they're taking their situation for granted, like they can go about and treat anyone the way they want because they have the government funding. Its like they are just happy with the park being open and not going above and beyond that. They're squandering the opportunity they've been graciously given by the Commonwealth. Its sickening to me. Their actions feel like a big middle finger to the public and the taxpayers despite anything good they might be doing.
  3. Yeah, I want the park to get out of the government's hands ASAP and be successful, but they've done little to show that'll happen. And until evidence of that happens, I will be enjoying myself at many other parks.
  4. Because no other site cares to look beyond the rides. They only care about being able to go and getting on Lightning Run. They couldn't care less about the other aspects of why KK exists, like a government entity running an amusement park by borrowing money from the bank using taxpayer owned land as collateral or how out of touch Ed Hart is. Why did KY dump all this money for KK when there is a myriad of other better things they could have done with that money? Its stupid and something I won't support. And what does the park have to show for it? Bad PR, weekly ride inspections, bad attendance figures, rides that take more than 2 years to reopen and still miss their opening date, and a park that relies on politics to operate.
  5. Well, Vekoma did have the help of the NASA level engineers to design Stealth, so I imagine Firehawk is pretty safe.
  6. Sometimes when I extend my arms to go for the Superman style, they start to feel tired due to how the g forces affect them. Make sure to hold on to the grips for the brakes, its a very hard stop.
  7. Well, its kind of laughable when they had this coaster already sitting in the park all the time they've had it, had more than 2 years to get it ready, and miss an opening date. They got the other re-opened rides that were supposed to open today going.
  8. They might have had that decision long before they made the announcement. They just did everything closer to how and when they wanted to unveil Banshee. Even at that time,it wasn't a ride the park was happy with having sit there. Also, they did answer a lot of questions and the people they banned said some pretty nasty stuff if you recall.
  9. Except Kings Island was then getting ready to demolish it, a ride which clearly caused them discomfort in more ways than one, while KK has boasted pridefully about this May 30th opening for T3 for quite some time, not to mention had more than enough time to get it ready. They did get around to answering them on FB.
  10. Small correction. Not even about 10 minutes after I posted that, the Kingdom's PR has several cut and paste word-for-word responses apologizing for the delay on several of the comments asking about T3.
  11. I've noticed other than that one response, KK has been dodging questions on T3 on their FB page.
  12. T3's opening just been pushed back again, June 6th now according to the website. At least its on a Saturday...
  13. T3 Update- In response to a comment, KK has confirmed T3 will open June 3rd. It isn't mentioned anywhere else though. Expect some angry guests this weekend.
  14. In the spirit of optimism about T3- I wonder if its just that Kentucky Kingdom found time to test it, just not when the park was open? They might very well make tomorrow's opening, its just they didn't feel the need to share that info.
  15. Whatever it was (I haven't seen any issues with Macks, care to elaborate? I've searched pretty hard and didn't see anything) it didn't stop SEAS from adding one in Tampa.
  16. ^Last I checked, Intamin wasn't the only other manufacture than B&M.
  17. While I agree B&M is a good manufacture, I would like to see parks go for others for some variety. Most of them have safety standards that match B&M's. B&M isn't the be all end all of manufactures. They don't do everything.
  18. So people having an opinion opposing yours as to liking B&M's being added to parks equates to people being 'butthurt'? Those are honest opinions, too.
  19. It probably wasn't going to be a Mack hyper because, going with what faeriewench is stating for B&M, Mack hasn't gone to 200 ft yet. Do they have the capability? Certainly, but B&M has already been there and you know what you're getting. Now, SEAS does have experience with Mack and their new trains at the San Diego park, so I'm guessing Mack had a bid on the table (along with Morgan I imagine since SEAS has one of those), but B&M stood out more to them. I imagine CF's recent work with B&M and the reactions to each of those additions were a big part of that decision. It is a type that will be unique to the region. And if you do some reading around these forums, you know why they probably didn't go with Intamin.
  20. The lines are, for the most part, pretty light. However, the school groups typically stay in big groups, so a walk-on wait can jump to a 10-15 minute wait instantly. They usually leave by dinner, but then you also have the late comers coming off of work for some evening rides.
  21. The two sides were essentially mirrored courses.
  22. I dig the purple along with the typical aqua color scheme you'd expect on a marine themed coaster. Also loving the 0 car for this (the car in front without the seats and has the shark head). It looks super sharp (in more ways than one). I'm kind of surprised they didn't decide to add a splash with this. Guess they left that to Manta. I hope the over-bank hill after the first drop stays true to the angles it shows in the renderings, it looks to be amazing. It does come as a surprise to me that Sea World is breaking the 200 ft barrier. I initially thought Busch Gardens Tampa would have been the first in Florida to go with a hyper of some sort. I also find it weird they aren't going with 3 trains for this unless they are running cycles not unlike Leviathan and Banshee, both with no MCBR and 3 trains. EDIT: After seeing the rendering again, it does in deed have a brake run. I call it a LCBR (late course brake run) since its so close to the end but has an element or two before the final brakes, kind of like with Gatekeeper and Shambhala (a B&M hyper at PortAventura in Spain).
  23. Why not a GCI racing coaster? Lightning Racer 2.0 anyone?
  24. ^But I thought they only used one and used the other as a parts donor?
  25. Will T3 maintain 1 train operations or does it have 2 trains?
