  1. Additionally with Backlot, the next train can't pull up to the loading station until the train in front of it clears the helix.
  2. I just saw something hilarious about their Facebook page. When you go to search for it, it pops up with labels. Along with the amusement park label, it labels itself as a 'landmark'. Ed Hart's ego is leaking across the Ohio River again.
  3. Considering their main competition is from the Mouse, that would be insanely stupid on their part to not keep adding new things. Just wait and see when Disney starts playing with their 2 newest franchises at their parks.
  4. As far as food suggestions go, there are a few things to consider. First off, avoid the pizza. Its not very good. I wish LaRosa's would exert some quality control towards Kings Island because it pales in comparison to the actual pizza you'd get from a restaurant or even at a Reds game. If you're going for a Cincinnati food- Skyline is the place. Cheese coneys and 3/4 ways (chili on spaghetti with cheese, and you can add onions). The Reds Hall of Fame and Grille has Montgomery Inn food, another Cincinnati based restaurant. Very good food and very fairly priced. Panda Express in the Festhaus is decent as well. If you're going for something more traditional, there is Chicken Shack which has great chicken selections. Juke Box has semi-decent burgers. I've never eaten there, but I hear good things about Hanks Burrito Shack. If you want some big fries, I suggest going to the Rivertown Potato Works (the Coney location pales in comparison IMO). There is also Snake Pit near Diamondback which has Philly cheese steaks and turkey legs. There is a new funnel cake shop at the end of I-Street by Grand Carousel, the area's largest Starbucks, and a new yogurt shop also on I-Street. A famous desert item from the park is the blue ice cream, located at several locations, most notably the store in Planet Snoopy. Graeter's is an excellent choice as well.
  5. Another great way to scout lines is to head up the Eiffel Tower. You can see most of the lines from up there.
  6. I do the same thing Tb, just not for quite that long.
  7. This talk is the reason I have a beef with the Diamondback crew. There is no consistency throughout the park in terms of ride crews. Why is Diamondback (a B&M with near the capacity of Banshee and has the luxury of a MCBR to help trains dispatch quicker) lucky to hit half of its capacity per hour while Banshee is, at the very least and with no MCBR, on par? Will we see Diamondback-esque line movement with Banshee when KI gets their next coaster? Vortex has also started to be that way in the last few years, they triple stack a lot as well, never an issue under Paramount. Its like running coasters with 3 trains is a lost art at Kings Island.
  8. ^I imagine so. silver2005, pulling a Terpy.
  9. I hate how the Banshee crew treats guests during power hours. They are rude, they breath down your neck (at times, literally), and lack any semblance of empathy. Banshee crew- quit trying to hit capacity numbers all the time! Maybe KI can take a few of Banshee's crew and put them on Diamondback...
  10. I've been to several coaster fan sites as well as anything else KK related and there is absolutely nothing yet concerning the whereabouts of T3's trains. I seem to recall Vekoma having quite a hard time installing new trains on Goliath at SFNE... Have you ever gone to an exotic car dealership and looked at a new Ferrari? When you left, did you go on Facebook or fan sites saying you did so? Why not? Its better to not talk about something, you cannot afford to own. Well I imagine they have some sort of plan. They wouldn't be boasting of a May 30th opening of T3 if ^that is the case. I suspect it will be concerning the future of Twisted Twins though.
  11. Not at the park today. Finishing a MCU marathon before I see Avengers tomorrow night after a visit to Putz's.
  12. What new spore of madness has been unleashed this time?!
  13. I wouldn't necessarily say Maverick 'emphisizes' air time (or really anything for that matter). I think its more an amalgamation of things that combine for a unique coaster.
  14. If any Nintendo series should get a dark ride, it's Legend of Zelda.

  16. That's the day I plan to go for trip #3 of 2015.
  17. I rode Dragster at night a few years back and ended up with a nice long cut across my forehead via mayfly at 120 mph.
  18. I find 6-1 and 7-1 to have a bit more intensity than 5-1 while keeping a smooth ride. I also like the front seat on Vortex a lot. Beast and Racer I try to ride in the 2nd row of each 3 row train to avoid sitting over a wheel housing- makes it less jarring though Beast is somewhat better over the wheels. Front seats are the only good exception for both. Adventure Express is sort of similar, but its smoother so choosing a wheel seat isn't as bad a choice. I actually like the very back on AE. It fits the runaway mine train act better. I find Invertigo a little more tolerable towards the area of the train that starts closest to the cobra roll. I've even had some non-banging rides in that area. Banshee is good about anywhere, but the back makes it a bit more unpredictable. Diamondback is good pretty much anywhere as well. I find that the front has the strongest air, and as you go back, the air becomes more floaty, but better sustained. My go-to row is 12, 6th car outer seats. Flight of Fear is the one coaster I avoid the front as it comes to a near complete stop on the MCBR and the front car hangs awkwardly to the side. Bat definitely has more swinging action towards the front. Backlot and Firehawk are good anywhere.
  19. I'd be all for a big of a face lift of the current building though. Also, a coaster going across the front gate would almost have to go into the backstage area or parking lot, which would be a big eyesore when riding it. Neither are exactly the prettiest places.
  20. So KD could keep adding relocated B&M's and BGW would have 0 problem with it?
  21. ^That doesn't matter. If that clause truly exists, Dominator wouldn't be at KD.
  22. I don't know how true this rumor was, but I heard that Guinness took a while to decide whether or not it should get wooden coaster records. I guess this is their decision. I do consider Intamin rides such as El Toro and T-Express to be wood because its the material I focus on, not how its produced nor how they feel. There's still actual wood involved. RMC's on the other hand are clearly not wood as you're replacing 2 layers of wood with steel. If you take that steel and make it tubular instead of the bar shape, you get track not unlike Gemini and Excalibur. I'm surprised Guinness went with wood on Goliath. I also know that RCDB was flawed before this, but them saying RMC's are wood really makes me question their system for doing things.
  23. Dollywood Express is up there on the list as well. Unlike most amusement park trains, Dollywood's fleet are legit, refurbished, coal fired steam locomotives, and it has a nice long course.
  24. I guess it's hit or miss since I've been to Dollywood during the summer on a weekday, perfect weather, and the crowds were pretty moderate- 10-15 minute waits max.
