  1. I'll say this now seeing as I probably won't be posting tomorrow, but its been fun decoding with everyone despite the shortcomings that have occured. Here's hoping for a ride that everyone will come to enjoy!
  2. I had an annoying bit with The Beast crew a few weeks ago, particularly the guy on the mic during a night excursion. The guy did this whole 300-esque 'this is Sparta' rant the entire time up to when they shut down the ride for the fireworks (which I got on the last train prior). He had to have been going on a good 40 minutes. Not only was it annoying as all get out, but he was REALLY holding the crew back in making decent dispatches. I think I timed it once that they held a train in the station a full 2 minutes. That night, they even had all 3 trains stacked up at one point, which was insane. Other than that though, The Beast crew has been really great this year. That single bit though...grrrrr.
  3. There is a slim chance I will be there for ERT instead of going later. I'll chime in more on that tomorrow.
  4. I'm not letting the supposed leaked webpage distract from my view of what the physical evidence on the ground tells me. I'm still convinced this is an inverted coaster.
  5. A 'zero car' is that set of wheels you see on the front of most B&M's. Zero refers to the fact that each car on a train has a number, but since its a 'car' on the train without seats, it gets the term 'zero car'. The part of Diamondback's trains with the snake eyes and fangs, that's a zero car.
  6. @ homestar92- Alpengeist has a zero car.
  7. I think there is a lot you don't know. Firstly, construction is nowhere near finished on the new ride. There is no way it would be open for this years Haunt. Secondly, I don't think KI is going to open a roller coaster just for the Haunt and not the rest of season. Thirdly, all the scary theming serves one of two purposes: 1. Hint at the ride being called Banshee (do your research on this) OR 2. Throw us WAY off the path of what this coaster is going to be. My friend said the ride was going to be called "Intamin." Or something like that. And why would they be putting SCARY stuff in the Action Zone if its not for the Halloween Haunt? Themeing, Build up, Hype, Excitement, doing what should be done, Banshee. Why can't they have a scary themed ride without it being haunt related? Not all of us can or goto the haunt so why not have something scary them year around. Just adds to the park. Maybe you guys all think the scary stuff is for the new roller coaster but its really for a new Halloween Haunt....... I don't recall parks putting up teasers on opening day for Haunt attractions, especially teasers specifically in front of the very construction they're teasing for. Haunt info doesn't usually come up until late July/early August.
  8. I don't get members that are saying they won't go digging through the topic to find information pertaining to your posts and carry on a conversation. There is a search button at the top right of the page, which you can search through this topic specifically. Stuff you guys are apparently 'digging through' took me less than 20 seconds to find using the search feature.

Or something like that. And why would they be putting SCARY stuff in the Action Zone if its not for the Halloween Haunt? 1. Intamin is the name of a company which designs rides including roller coasters. It was brought up early as a possible designer for a giga coaster before we had more evidence 2. There were the signs about the paranormal activity at the park on opening day, well before the park brings up anything on the Haunt plus the pamplets advertising the announcement have those type of hints as well which point more specifically to what the ride will be named
  10. Battlestar Galactica already beat ya' to the punch.
  11. @ youngstud- How would you know? You can't see the height differentiation from just the blueprints. MCBR's are designed to be able to have a train stop and return to the station.
  12. maybe the seats could be 4 dimensional with each row rotating into different positions along the path of the ride. You just described a 4th dimension coaster, not a flying coaster.
  13. I'm surprised no one added this when they ruled out flying coaster, but designers wouldn't design flying coasters where you take on high g maneuvers like vertical loops, dive loops and Immelmans while on your stomach. Notice that all looping maneuvers on B&M's and Vekoma flyers have it where the highest g's are while you're on your back. Unless this is a weird flying coaster where the majority of it is on your back, I'm guessing it isn't one.
  14. If I recall, some of the records CP touted with Millennium Force and Top Thrill Dragster included most coaster track in one park, most steel coaster track in one park, and of course most coasters in one park.
  15. I honestly can't think of many rides I've done at Cedar Point that I haven't like in some respect. The only one that comes to mind for not liking is Corkscrew, but only for the fact the trains are compact and bang up my elbows, its a fun ride to me none-the-less though. Even Mean Streak has some redeeming qualities to me. I consider Gemini and Iron Dragon vastly underrated rides. I have yet to do Gatekeeper so I'll reserve opinions on that until I've ridden it.
  16. Sigh. My thing on SFMM was in light of people saying KI would have the most inverted coaster track. I think SFMM has more even if this new coaster gets above 4,000 ft. Tatsu and Batman combined length alone beat out the entirety of KI's inverted track for length. I've never been to SFMM so I wouldn't go on comparing it to KI as of yet, its not my style to compare things I haven't done to things I have done. I would also be sad if Flight Deck was removed. It is the one ride that got me interested in coasters.
  17. I think SFMM trumps KI even with the 2014 ride. They have Ninja, Tatsu and Batman and if you want to get really technical, add in X2 and Green Lantern, which have points where the track is inverted. I'm guessing KI doesn't come close.
  18. There are key differences between an inverted coaster and a suspended coaster. Suspended coasters have mechanisms that allow the cars to swing, accentuating the curves. However, due to that, suspended coasters can't perform inversions, either having to go around them too fast to prevent the cars from falling over or if they go over them too slow, they will fall over and create problems. I think I've read that Arrow put in the swinging initially on The Bat to soak up the curves, which is a reason why the track wasn't banked. Arrow did plan on putting inversions in, but failed miserably (someone correct me if I'm off on things). B&M and Vekoma improved on this in ridding the cars of the swinging, making them rigid, thus making the cars able to perform inversions. That's why inverted coasters took off WAY more than suspended coasters.
  19. A Stengel Dive has to be overbanked, specifically, the banking has to be above 90 degrees. The RR example isn't one. The only B&M I can think of that has one is Silver Bullet.
  20. This is a Stengel Dive. It's simply a hill with an overbanked section of track at the top.
  21. It looks like a dive loop into an Immelman to me.
  22. B&M's biggest coaster before Leviathan was Europa Park's Silver Star at 239 ft, and to go for 300+ after that, well, that's a pretty large jump if you ask me.
  23. Nemesis Inferno already has interlocking loops.
  24. An inverted coaster with 8 inversions would be the most of any inverted coaster in the world. The only one with 7 is Montu.
