I have a few to go over. First- Son of Beast. I would only ride it in the front 2 seats during the loop era, but after the 'refurb', it was totally un-rideable. I know they weren't designed to be fast or thrilling, but Thunder Express at Dollywood (used to be where Tornado is) and Hershey's Trailblazer were just boring to me. Lastly, I hated Viper at Six Flags Great Adventure. I found it rough and a bit claustrophobic with those rings (I know it was designed that way, but it was still an uncomfortable experience for me). Those are the only few I really have a dislike for. Most other rides I've done have had some redeeming quality.

How can you rank a ride that doesn't exist yet?
-
I have to separate it wood and steel. This is how the coasters fall in my overall rankings (out of 45 steel coasters and 15 wood coasters). This list will include defunct rides I've done at Kings Island. Steel 1. Diamondback 8. Firehawk 12. Vortex 13. Flight of Fear 23. Invertigo 24. Backlot Stunt Coaster 26. Flight Deck 27. Adventure Express 39. King Cobra Wood 1. Beast 4. Racer 11. Woodstock Express 14-15- Son of Beast (14- with loop, 15- without loop, yes, for my list, I count them as 2 separate credits) If you want context, check my profile page under "About Me" for my full rankings.

As a life-long Cincinnatian, I will say (in my personal opinion) that the LaRosa's food inside the park pales vastly in comparison to what comes from the restaurants. The pizza sauce tastes similar, perhaps a little better outside the park, but the food in general is prepared much better outside the park. Also, LaRosa's has a great menu outside their pizza. Their hoagies and calzones are awesome. Also keep in mind I'm a west-sider, so I frequent the Boudinot store (aka, the original and THE best location IMO) a lot, which is a lot to live up to. Of course, being a UC student, I can attest that LaRosa's still falls short of quite a few stores in the area. silver2005, now craving Pomodori's and Adriatico's.

@ Big Sexy- Isn't Intamin using a different track system now for their hypers/gigas (see I-305 and Skyrush)? If you saw their infamous box track (a la Millennium Force), then perhaps it isn't for a hyper/giga but rather for a different type? Then again, Intamin tries new stuff all the time it seems, though they lack consistency. I also hear that Intamin's new 4 across trains on Skyrush aren't exactly the best, though that might have more to do with Skyrush's layout than the train designs, plus Hershey has had maintenance issues with them as well. Heck, I-305 had major issues as well.

Could we please stop decoding each other's tastes in rides and parks and...I don't know...decode the 2014 project?

I admit, I'm on the fence with Mean Streak. It looks like a nice layout and is impressive to look at, but as said before, the trims kind of ruin it. There is silver lining on it, at least for me. The 2nd half is pretty awesome and is truly where the ride sings. It may not have a lot of air time, but it really gives nice laterals in the 2nd half. Also, the re-tracking they've done has improved it a bit. Also, as many have said before, I will only sit in the front of the train (either the first or 2nd cars of the train). As for other underrated rides at Cedar Point worth mentioning, I can't help but mention Gemini. The design is pretty much an Arrow mine train on steroids, but the racing aspect plus the surprising amount of air it has definitely make it worth a ride or two. Gemini and Iron Dragon are 2 of my favorite stations as well.

I got to do The Beast tour last year which Don ran, and in my group, he was asked what kinds of rides Kings Island would add under Cedar Fair. His response was pretty much towards reliable rides. The philosophy- waiting in line for an hour only to have that ride break down is time lost to the customer. That pretty much speaks volumes to the rides we'll see at Kings Island in the future. Just look at the history the park had when Paramount was in charge from 2000-2006. Most of those rides are either gone (Son of Beast and Crypt) or have downtime issues of some kind (Delirium). Yes, Firehawk has downtime, but 1. it was initially built by Six Flags and 2. Kings Island technically inherited it. WindSeeker is another story altogether. With that, if this is a major steel coaster, I'm willing to lean towards it being a B&M by a lot.

Looks like I have to bring this up again. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t44EAsLwGWA

I know this is going out on a limb here, but the way those footers are paired aside from the set that look like they'll be a train shed make me think this could be an inverted coaster (which, throwing in my $0.02, is the type I'm hoping for). In comparison, I believe Diamondback's supports that hold up the brake run next to it's shed are regular supports like you'd see throughout the ride as opposed to the pairing's we're seeing here. Again, just an observation.

I believe this thread calls for a facepalm. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t44EAsLwGWA

With that Screamscape update, why do I get the feeling Lance got that rumor from that Kings-Island-Project-2014 page on Facebook? I'm guessing that's why he himself said he's taking it with a grain of salt. EDIT: Thanks for the correction Diamondback96

So than why are we considering Italian Job a family coaster? And if you really want to classify a roller coasters length, I think fairly you can't count the lift hill. That's why The Beast is 5 minutes long... You do know that pretty much every coaster information site ever includes the lift hill(s) both in physical length and ride time...right? Plus for many people, going up the lifts are part of the experience, creating anticipation for the first drop.

What was the last family coaster added that was 30 seconds long?Top GunInvertigo I think they are a waste of money...I like them but they are to short. I'm not saying they are bad rides...don't get me wrong, I like long roller coasters... 1. Since when is Invertigo a 'family' coaster? 2. Both are longer than 30 seconds. 3. Contradiction much?

^Yeah, though I do adore coasters and don't really have that much a fear of heights, seeing Millennium Force and Top Thrill Dragster still give me goosebumps. Such a rush for me riding them both, only 2 of a few rides I'll gladly wait over an hour for. Yeah, some consider TTD a one-trick-pony, but it does one heck of a trick. I'll also jump on the Magnum love here. Magnum was my first coaster over 200 ft and my first ride on it was at night, which I've made a tradition in always ending a day at Cedar Point with a night ride on her. Such a great design in a great location to boot. Oh, and I first rode it during its 10th anniversary; still have the t-shirt commemorating it for that.

Just because the green track didn't end up at Kings Island doesn't mean that some of us aren't interested in where it is actually going. Some of us do follow the happenings of parks outside Kings Island. Just sayin'.

Also, Intamin has other models being sold outside their giga/hyper coasters that still use the box track.

I've been around coaster sites a while and for me, its easier for me to compile all my trip reports into one topic so I don't lose track of them. Along with park trip reports, I also like to do reports on the trips I do with the UC Band for bowls and tournament trips. I do have a few things to start out with. This year I have 3 other park visits planned outside of Kings Island; being Cedar Point, Michigan's Adventure, and Holiday World (the later 2 being my first time visiting). Though I've been to Cedar Point many times, I do want to leave the option to eat outside the park for this particular trip, which I've never done before. A few things on that. First, if I leave the park at Cedar Point including the parking lot, what is the procedure for re-entering the parking lot? Also, what are the best places to eat outside the park? For Michigan's Adventure and Holiday World, I just need general advice. In particular, a good day plan for both (I'll be going on weekdays for each), best places to eat in the park, and any hidden gems that need pointing out (I like to do more than just the coasters, I am a flat ride fan). I will be going to Holiday World for 2 days so I can take in as much of Splashin' Safari as I can. For food advice, it's mostly the lighter food I need advice on where to find (I know that's a stretch for amusement parks, just general light food is fine). Any advice on riding their respective coasters would be helpful as well. Thanks and I hope to have a trip report soon!

Let's see...for me it'd be classic rock, some modern/contemporary rock (not a big fan of rock that's too hard, Metalica, Nirvana and Alice in Chains is as hard as I go), jazz, and classical music. I also like to listen to movie scores. I'm also a bit of a musician myself, with the alto and tenor saxophones as my instruments of choice. I LOVE playing jazz. I currently play said saxophones in the UC Bearcat Bands and a community band during the summer, also run by the UC Band.

That is Formula Rossa at Ferrari World in Dubai, built by Intamin, also the fastest coaster in the world. Though, it just launches nearly 150 mph right into trims. Meh.
-
While dive machines are a different design than a typical floorless coaster (like Bizarro and Hydra), they do come with floorless trains now, so technically that'd be kind of getting a 2 for 1 deal there. Just sayin'.

Every time I've been to Cedar Point, more specifically in line for Wicked Twister and Magnum for some reason, I get people pointing out and insisting that Lake Erie is really the ocean.
-
Just to make it clear for those who may not be aware, this plant has produced track for several parks, many of which are outside the Cedar Fair chain and even some outside the United States. Off the top of my head and using recent examples, the plant helped produce Dollywood's Wild Eagle, Carowinds' Intimidator, Hair Raiser at Ocean Park in Hong Kong, the aforementioned Flying Over the Rainforest, along with a slew of others I'm sure. This track is probably for another park.
-
Well for one, the plant is out in the middle of nowhere and second, they would need a heck of a truck to haul off with the pieces, not to mention getting them on said truck if at all.

How exactly did you guys pinpoint they are supports just for a wing coaster? I can probably find about any B&M coaster and find similar supports, or even rides from other manufactures.
