  1. "I'm not going on Maverick, it's not safe!" I think that's what the peeps say in Rollercoaster Tycoon.
  2. Oh dear! Seriously? It might just be my tastes, but those would be my bottom two. I loved Endless Summer and Flashback: Totally 80's.
  3. Quoted from the locked SoB thread - just wondering if feelings have changed now that we know SoB will be SBNO for 2010. How much ya wanna bet the people who said that will go back and edit their posts now? (there were more than a few IIRC)
  4. Where is that $30mil figure from? I wonder if they mean from 2000 onward or from 2006 onward. If it's just CF that's spent that amount on it... I need to go back and find that "shoving money down the drain" graphic.
  5. If that's the qualification, you're going to have a very lonely club.
  6. Lawl... SoB has never operated "normally"... unless beating the crap out of riders is "normal" for a wooden coaster. And, by the way, maybe she reported it "late" because it simply didn't occur to her to report it? I can understand (for reasons that I will not go in to on here) why it would not immediately occur to her to report her injury to the park.
  7. I know why. No final decision has been made. So they shouldn't put "Son of Beast will not operate for 2010" on the website? I'm glad I'm not at guest relations!
  8. I thought we knew that the Knotts were voting no a while ago?
  9. I don't smell a renovation. What I smell is a park trying to quietly decide a ride's fate without too much backlash. It'll go from "we haven't decided" to "it won't open in 2010" to "it won't operate for a few years" to "anyone want to buy a piece of it?". I wonder why it's still on the website...
  10. I can certainly see how it would flood- up in Springboro/Centerville, there's tons of standing water where there shouldn't be, and the retention ponds near my house arre about 2 or 3ft higher than usual!
  11. Hmm: so, it's an Intamin Family Coaster... with a "freefall drop" thrown in. I doubt it'll live up to the hype.
  12. Best deal in the park? Backyard BBQ. Last year, the food was actually really good, fairly inexpensive, and there were free refills on soda. (of course, for the El Cheapo among us, I think the cheapest "real" food item in the park is Skyline's chili sandwich that's like $3 or so...)
  13. My *guess* would be that a few just love the elephant, most don't really care, and a few dislike it. However, the ones who don't really care might be happier without it.
  14. And this is why we shouldn't have the wolves voting on whether or not to add a new fence around the sheep pasture...
  15. I've actually been hit by a phone in that very spot. Imagine my shock! (and why I instinctively cover my head while passing that area and hearing a train coming!)
  16. A ride need not get you absolutely soaked to be fun. I think we know why they want something there to get guests wet:
  17. I'm fairly sure that Cedar Fair cares about the parks. We've gotten not one, but two new coasters within the few years that CF has owned the parks, let alone a new kids area theme and dark ride retheme for 2010.
  18. Looks like they are building a sign to me, but I could be wrong? Maybe it could be a big bucket of water that dumps on you. OH GOD NO.
  19. Wow. That paint job on Linus Launcher (the name totally makes sense now!) has to be a joke... I wonder if RFYL is going to keep the peeing spitting coconuts in some fashion...
