    The bat

and soon Arrow Suspended coasters will drop off the endangered species list... and not because more have been built:(
  2. Most of the comments I've heard about the ride are people dissin it based of the POV. We don't need to have that discussion again do we? <- Not saying anything bad about Dalefan just those people who jusdge a ride based of a POV...without enough experience to do a good job. I've seen some TRs that had really positive reviews...actually all the TRs I remember were positive.
  3. I've gotta say, you're not faring well in this RC... but it probably won't stay around for very long;)
  4. The sand you see is used for underlayment. Expect to see Coney Mall get similar treatment to Rivertown and stop complaining! You are whining about trees and schrubs that could easily be stuck in a greenhouse or even just left outside with their root balls covered with mulch.
  5. ^Good pic of pics to post! I would love to have anything with an element like that at KI! That turn looks amazing.
  6. Unrestrained teror?!? I'm glad they added the lap bars. I'll be here all week folks, sorry bout your luck!
  7. Now that just makes me mad. I am so glad to see this carousel will be saved. It seems there's more history to it than I even knew.
  8. That was beautiful... but painful. Very well done! Makes me want to go hug my family. That shot of the clinic (@ abt. 5 mins.) was so eerie.
  9. Oh it's been mentioned... I can't wait! I love the pavers too. They are crazy expensive though so I'm very grateful that we've gotten what we have.
  10. I want to see the footing (insert more appropriate term if applicable) for this thing. That'l bee a lot of steel and concrete! Actually, I'd love to see the hole first hand.
  11. I started wondering why that first turn wasn;t banked when I first saw the press release. My friend said it best, "I was so busy trying to regain consciousness that I didn't even notice the ride." This man is a true ride warrior so if it spoiled his ride, I'm sure the first turn is too intense. On a later ride he greyed out much less and said it was one of the most amazing rides of his life.
  12. As you would find me if it weren't Halloween. As much as I love CP, I've gotta stay home for my yard haunt! It may well be the most fun thing I do all year.
  13. GG Allen would be proud of his mini-me. If only they would roll in their own poop too! Now that would be awesome!
  14. I almost don;t want to vote because it will take so much time to explain. I absolutely love HW's coasters. I find Legend to be a very tempermental beast, rubns great on some days and on others it is simply mindblowing = hard to rate. Raven is one of the most...gorgeous coasters I have ever ridden. It uses terrain so well one would think it grew into place. That surprise 5th drop just... the ride seems to just build the whole way through and that 5th drop just hits home. there are so many nice interactions with the terrain that I consider it a better terrain coaster than Beast. Voyage... Oh my! How I love Voyage. It has all the elements I want in a coaster. My first ride was in the dark and it wasn't until about my 10th ride that i actually saw the spaghetti. I was a good boy and didn't spoil it with POV's or photos... going through that thing blind was amazing! Voyage is a bit rough but, I'm a blackbelt. That was almost 5 years of constant beatings. I'm with Giga, I could ride Voyage all day. It just really makes me curious about how the Timberliners would change it. I do feel a bit confined by the roughtness. I have find myself putting too much concentration into preparing or bracing for turns and it distracts from the ride.
  15. This is actually just another discussion about the type of atmosphere and guests they are trying to attract. IN the front of KI I'm just cramming in rides. In Coney Mall, I stroll leisurely and like just lounging around in the back. Watching DB, taking pics and chatting with friends. Think of how people like to hang out around the fountains and casually snack while they chat. If they didn't have the sit down options at CP, I and everyone would still be eating out of a cooler. Abnother example. For some reason, I made a tradition of Ruby Tuesdays at KI and never... not once, with any of the groups that I travel with have I ever packed a cooler.
  16. Also, many of us would greatly appreciate it if you don't use Caps Lock.
  17. Come on Terp, moral standards are so outdated.
  18. Absolutely. Cedar Point has a good grill under Raptor and I love getting to just sit, enjoy my food and my company while someone waits on me. They get a great tip and I get a good meal and relaxation. I (and the party I travel with) do the exact same thing at KI but we go to Ruby Tuesdays instead. We order a lot and often spend a bunch on drinks... I'd really rather give that money to KI but not for what they serve.
  19. Post of the day. Getting the "tiotle" back is good for PR and will maike some great commercials and Dave makes a good point about the low cap. expenditures but... a seriously low capacity coaster at Magic Mountain. Is that good.?.. Do rhetorical questions really deserve a question mark. Come on, they're declarative. We all know it:) Sorry, I'll go be a dork somewhere else.
  20. Does this make sense for Six, not in my eye. Do any ****ing matches make sense? Why don't they just get out a ruler and settle this once and for all. I've got a hunch CP is in communication w/ B&M for a 4thD (X-Raptor being a prototype, of sorts) in 2012 and they'll add a kiddie coaster to take back the crown. I'd love a GCII or GG woodie thouggh.
  21. Things like that can really scar a park. Hmm, I wonder if KI management thought, "oh my, not the environment we we're hoping for." Dare I say it, maybe they created a volitile environment by the people they attracted. Crowd control and atmosphere are incredibly important. That's why everyone loves Holiday World. I just heard that from a parent who has multiple friends that feel the same way. Friends that will drive an extra 2 hrs. to go to a park with a better family atmosphere. Holiday World puts great effort into that image and is very proactive in maintaining it, including offering reasonable food options, keeping their employees satisfied and happy and showing that they care about guests (Pat at the front gates and sweeping midways). I know of a chain that should be thinking more like that. Not more like 'I bet we can make a lot of money being vulgar and gruesome'.
  22. I hope they have seating in the line for that ZacSpin. I imagine CP will fight back. Probably with a Kiddy coaster and hopefully something with better capacity than a ZacSpin.
  23. yes and yes. It was a Gestalt. Very good for finding out what people are really thinking... which is very good for finding out their true motives... which far too often continue to play out in repetetive cycles. David, always trying to help...
  24. If these forums had a like button, I'd like this....heck I'd love this! I would love that if it wasn't at KI. I love haunts and gore is fine with me... long history in deathmetal bands:lol: I know this sounds totally weird to some of you but KI is a positive/happy/uplifting place for me. Too much dark energy just takes something away from that. Gore in the fountains would be like walking in on your sister having sex. It would be kinda hard to hang out with her for a bit after that... I'm sure it's different for others but... The image of gore in the fountains would feel really wierd as I walk past them (next season) withmy family. I have also decided to tone down my home haunt because kids walk down my street on the way to school and many of them were truely scared of my house (as were plenty of adults)... I know this because they tell me and I see them walking as close to the street as possible and some even cross to the other side. Terror and gore in the side and back yard only... my wife finally won:) Amazing how listening to other people's views can change your mind. Again, I was on the other side of the 'Haunt is going to far debate' when it started last year... or rather when I started following it last year.
  25. I'm done with the debate but want to make sure I'm not misunderstood. I'm not one of those waiting for something bad to happen and I'm not an "I told you so" type of person. I'm a counselor... I live in constant "I told you so" moments I was very offended by the skeleton fiasco last year, many of those skeletons were displayed way to close to the time of death of those they depicted. Show some respect people! I don't like giving my money to places with shady morals. With that bad taste in my mouth, the "Who's Ready to See a Midget Bleed" didn't sit too well and the trailer was even worse. BTW, last year I started on the other side of the debate.
