If you could retheme one ride at the park, which one and how?
IndyGuy4KI replied to 3dgyrat's topic in KI Polls
I do hope when they add something in the Vortex spot there will be room in the budget to retheme BLSC. It's only on its second name. It's behind compared to a few of the others. -
Kings Island reports construction on the new Camp Snoopy area of the kids area is coming along well. Due to the favorable weather conditions in December and so far in January, the construction project of Camp Snoopy is on schedule. According to the KI Blog, all of the excavating and site preparations have been completed. The construction crew is also done with foundation work for the new roller coaster, Snoopy’s Soap Box Racers. The next step in the project is the placing supports and track pieces in for 672 ft roller coaster. Two track pieces are already on site at Kings Island. The construction crews are eager to sit the first piece of track in place. Station construction is expected to be finished by April. There is no specific opening date for Camp Snoopy at this time. The only timeline we have from the park is in 2024. KICentral members are hoping that means by Memorial Day Weekend or sooner. Hopefully the favorable weather conditions continue and we will see Camp Snoopy open earlier in the season rather than later. While we wait for that date, Camp Snoopy promises exciting adventures for both the smallest guests and the young at heart. Photo Credit Kings Island Snoopy's Soap Box Racers - Families and children will love this boomerang coaster that sends riders down a thrilling launch hill and hits speeds of up to 36 m.p.h. The 672-foot racetrack is filled with twists and turns making it the soap box derby no one will forget. Very disappointed to hear this. I think they did an amazing job and really helped people have a better day.

Fixed it. Not sure why I always have it that way in my head.

So I understand people are upset to see Coasterstock not return in 2024. I get it, I met my wife at that event. We do not have to agree about the parks decision. You are free to not like the methods or decisions the KI Comms team are making right now. Personal attacks or making disrespectful comments about a person on that team is not a good look on the enthusiasts community. Any posts bashing towards specific individuals that is not done respectfully or constructively from here on out will be removed. If this behavior continues, you may receive a warning. Corporate has made their decision on how things work now. No calling out on KIC or elsewhere is going to change their mind. Let's focus on expressing our opinions constructively and collaboratively.

You do have a few months to decide.

Kings Island is dedicated to offering a unique coaster event every year for coaster club members to take part in. In 2024, the park will celebrate our longstanding relationship with American Coaster Enthusiasts (ACE) by hosting its Spring Conference from May 17-19. More information will be released about this event and ticket purchasing in the coming weeks on the ACE website. Due to the timing, we will not have Coasterstock in 2024, but we are looking forward to its return in 2025. Throughout the 2024 season, Kings Island will host a series of coaster club opportunities, and we will be in touch with those clubs and past Coasterstock participants before the season begins with more details.

I really hoped Chad was going to pick up the reigns in 2024 and show the critics that the department has (not only the GP, but enthusiasts as well) wrong.

Is SIX already paying the light bill?

I agree, I had issues with the Carowinds set on my few cycles. The ones at KD are now my favorite set!

Bingo. disco called it. All new members are vetted for a time period before allowed to post without approval. I am sorry for the delay in approving your post. Like I said, I have not been able to moderate as much the last few days.

We will not turn this into a nitpick everything that Elizabeth does thread. It is time to move on from the past and look forward. The KIC admin have allowed the emotions of losings Don on the forums. Sometimes with a lot of hesitation because it can also snowball out of hand. Now that the position is filled, it's time to look forward. Calling out every little thing the Comms team does will not help the park, KIC, or the enthusiast community as a whole. Constructive criticism occasionally is fine. Elizabeth is now fresh into the field. We have seen her awesome video work while she was in her video role. (I know I have been impressed.) We can't hold the position she holds now (that was previously occupied by Don) to skew our views of her or her abilities. She totally deserves a chance by everyone in the enthusiast community to learn and grow into her new role. She is not going to walk into it and be perfect. No one will. Don had a lot of years to fine tune that role, along with working with the previous KI PR people all the way back to his Racer riding days. That is experience a college classroom can't give you. With all that said. I now want to formally welcome Elizabeth to her new position of digital marketing manager at Kings Island. KIC wishes you the best of luck in your new role. We look forward to watching you grow your career at Kings Island and in the industry.

There was no abuse. I have been very busy the last few days and had not had a chance to approve it. Thank you for adding that information as context in the thread.
