  1. What irritates me, as does my friend, is that people use the park as a babysitting service. Why not create an admission guideline that you have to be over __ to be without an adult? You'd think that parent's would be more thoughtful about this, especially with the recent episode of the guy in glasses recording kids (I know this opens up another can of worms and what not). It irritates me because there are tons of parents who drop their kids off for the entire day during the summer....and pick them up at the end of the night (not really responsible). However, the moment their kid doesn't answer their phone and doesn't show up to the pickup location the parents see it as the parks fault.
  2. I had a friend who visits Haunt almost every night that posted this today: Thinking this may be what you saw.
  3. Personally, the ride was a fail. The general idea was great but executed poorly. Another issue of bringing it back was that it was deemed a terrible ride due to the amount of time it sat without riders, gave off a negative connotation..."Hey didn't you know 12 people died on Son of Beast, that's why the closed it." That kind of image is not a pleasant one and not one that the park would willingly go back to.
  4. I like Ouimet. I've spoke with him several times. He is really nice and friendly. I like the direction I feel he's going with the parks and he's not Dick Kinzel.
  5. Doesn't matter. Trim Brakes do not equal normal braking devices. Brake runs are a part of a blocking system...and can feature numerous blocks, see Diamondback, I-305, TTD, etc. I-305 is relatively a long brake run and could be considered excessive IMO. A longer brake run can ensure 3 train operation as well as a MCBR.
  6. They've also gotta scream into the mic that is further down than they're standing.
  7. Not to be a jerk, Just pointing out the facts here. If Dan had "loved HW so dearly" why did he leave the park when Will took the reigns? Why did he move all the way to Florida to start a law firm if he loved HW so dearly? Why did he not work in the park with his brother if he wanted to keep the park in the family. I'm all about keeping the park in the family but Lori is family as well. She was actually near the park when here husband was working her kids (Dan's nieces, Pat's grand babies) were going to school for business to learn how to run the park. Heck even Pat at here advanced age was at the park everyday working along side the summer help cleaning trash and wiping down tables... The people I just listed actually loved the park. Dan only showed interest in the park after he realized how much money he could make when he took over after his brother's death. So again I ask the question if Dan truly "loved HW dearly," why was he in Florida instead of working with his family running this park? Think about it. I don't know Dan's motives/heart, so I can't answer your question.
  8. Has anyone ever considered the weather conditions when they've experienced a "rough" ride? Believe it or not, weather including temp, wind, etc. can affect a ride.
  9. Crypt's theoretical capacity was 564 per hour, with 12 cycles per hour. This of course with the capacity of 47 people per ride. As far as TR:TR unsure.
  10. What may be a bigger issue to you, may not be a big issue to other consumers, who just prefer to go to the park for the day to ride some roller coasters and other rides.
  11. What it seems like to me, in my opinion (no one else's) is that you're tiffed that Snoopy's Starlight Spectacular is a major issue and it looks like you won't be renewing your pass for next year because of it. To me, that seems kind of silly. I mean there are different paths to get to wherever you need to go, you don't have to walk through that. Secondly, it may seem like you're doing a whole lot of damage by "Lost Revenue" through you not renewing passes. Next year, I feel like passes are going to soar in sales due to a little ride called Banshee. I don't think the park is going to be hurting for $. Just my opinion.
  12. ^ This isn't google! Not seeing how that is relevant to the topic. On topic: I heard a ride op on Cedar Downs that I had to have my feet on the very top foot placement thing (can't think of the name) in order to ride. I said that wouldn't provide a comfortable ride as, I'm a bit tall and my knees would be in my face, as I showed her the example. She then told me that it'd be okay to put them on the middle one. lol.
  13. So, let's say it is Hart's doing....how much of his budget would go toward inspections/testing/move/installation/inspection/testing before it operated at KK?
  14. So sorry to bring this topic back up. I searched for other threads about this, but didn't really see much. I want to know your opinions on this: (Yes From Screamscape) I love that Lance keeps adding updates about the Time Machine, however it seems like the reports are bogus minus the one from Coasterfusion. The reports mostly seem similar, yet there has only been a few pictures that have surfaced of said "updates." I don't know about you as enthusiasts, but if I were in that area and I had seen the doors open, I'd swing by there every few days with my camera to see if any progress has been made or something else is going on. I'd be recognizing the habits. I guess I may be a little over suspicious of the reports, but I think if Lance is going to post "updates" of a "reader said...." he needs to be shown proof and post it as well. So, your thoughts?
  15. Agreed, Phantom's Revenge was a very great ride and I'd ride that numerous times over Vortex.
  16. I think I know what you're talking about....if it the track will turn without banking, or if it'll turn without any change in "elevation" (don't know if that's the right term). I think you're asking if it will turn out of the station like Raptor does.
  17. Trust me, I know customer service and the business side of things. Things happen to prevent responding to an email or letter right away. Have you accidentally ever hit delete on an email or have you ever opened an email and closed out of the program to do something else and totally forgot? I honestly don't know what else to say other than be a little bit more patient and forgiving. From what it sounds like your letter/email isn't life or death or even something that would cause defamation of the park, to MOST people the issue at hand is not a big deal, to you it is. Maybe the park may even need to weigh all of the options, on either fixing it or taking it down, before they email you back about it. I'm not saying they shouldn't email or write you back, because I frankly would love to hear what Mr. Scheid said about my email that Don had forwarded on to him, but I didn't get a response.
  18. I try to keep things positive when I'm at the park. So when I'm there, I try to pick out one person or experience that was good and e-mail Guest Services about it. I've never really gotten a response but many of the area managers that I know have told me in person that the feedback was forwarded to them. So even if you don't get a response, someone has seen it and hopefully acted upon it.Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2 I've had the same with the park as well when it comes to positives. However, when I've sent in comments to Cedar Point, I've either got an email or letter sent back to me after a week.
  19. 11 business days or just 11 days? Did you account for the time the letter was sent and for when the park would have received it? You've also got to remember what's going on right now in the park, preparations for Haunt. Snoopy's Starlight Spectacular is more than likely on the low end of the totem pole when it comes to priorities. Honestly, it'd be cool if you got a response back, but don't count on it. There have been numerous people who have brought ideas/complaints to the park...some are addressed and some aren't. While I agree that something needs to be done, I'm sure they know about it and are trying to weigh all the options in regards to it. Some changes don't happen overnight.
  20. As thedevariouseffect has said, Safety is number one. Aside from other tips...it really depends on the park. What would be a tip for Kings Island may not be a tip for KK.
  21. I'm sure (though don't know for fact) that the building is also used for storage.
  22. While the ride wasn't my favorite at the park, it did provide a good memory. I unfortunately only got to ride 1 side of it though :/
