  1. Taking pictures and videos on rides are strictly prohibited.
  2. Feel free to either post them here or PM me.
  3. I only got to ride it twice. Sky Rocket is a nice coaster though. Front row is worth the wait!
  4. A kid somehow wiggled out of the restraints and fell. There wasn't a seat belt thus seat belts were added to other rides of the same kind and more.
  5. I am a bit underwhelmed when it comes to the "thrills" at Dollywood. I recently visited Kennywood and loved the park. Phantom's Revenge was great, the wood coasters are all great and I even like Exterminator. The park has some good flat rides as well. The only thing I didn't really like about Kennywood was that purchases in the park were expensive including food. But, that's kinda at every park.
  6. I also remind you all, that you can go to the user's profile and report the user.
  7. Pretty sure it's not. From the manual: There are 3 clicks until it is at it's place to be considered closed. Trust me and Ki Man. We've both handled the restraints countless times in operation and in training (I know for my training, we were showed each click and there are 3 before the train can be dispatched). We have been taught to know how the ride works, what it sounds like, what it feels like, what it shouldn't sound like, what it shouldn't feel like, how the restraints operate manually and automatically, how the restraints feel, sound, etc. End of this discussion with you. To the OP: As far as Diamondback seat sizes, they are all exactly the same. There are no differences. When it comes to the test seat, it's the same exact one as what is on the trains. Having experienced this, when you may need help, you are more than likely in between clicks which require the restraint to be brought down to the next click as the restraint isn't locked properly for operation. Do you have permission from b&m and ki? Can't you get in trouble posting pages of a ride manual on the internet? Big Sexy, enough. First, if you are going to edit your post, put edit there, because what you have done is made me look like I'm discrediting myself. Do I have permission from B&M and KI? No, do I have to? No. When receiving my manuals as stated before there was nothing legally binding me from sharing them. As I also posted, there is nothing in what I posted above that gives specifics of how to operate the ride. It is merely terminology as you'd see via the photos instead of trolling like you are constantly doing and crossing the line with. The terminology in the photos are not B&M and park specific, so what is your issue? Is it the fact that I've actually backed up my statements from earlier in the thread? Is it that you have nothing better to do than try to discredit people when you can't even follow the terms of service?
  8. No, there is nothing in what I posted above that gives specifics of how to operate the ride, nor was there a discretionary clause anywhere when receiving my manual(s).

  10. Mmmmmm. no.
  11. I was on there too ohiocolts! I'm not jealous. I am just frustrated with the reports of it. All I see on the news is negativity and while you know "the riders were safe and got going within __ minutes" it's still negative. How many people may visit the park and not ride ____ because it was on the news that people got stuck which then turns to the story of someone broke their leg, someone fell out, someone died, etc.
  12. Ditto. Three clicks and that's it. This is incorrect. It is actually "two clicks", not three. You sir are incorrect. It is 3 clicks. Chugh43 who has worked the controls during restraint testing/daily operation of Diamondback and couldn't send the train because a restraint or two did not meet the 3 click requirement.
  13. You can find those at https://www.visitkingsisland.com/tickets/#
  14. But in all reality, its just a blurb on the news website. Nothing to start I hate Media campaigns for. Or a backpack dropped on the track?!? Why was it on the ride at all? (I know it's not talking about AE)
  15. Yes, compare the capacity of to Looks like IJST has better capacity, I mean this rocket only has 2 windows. Found this footer near Flight Deck, lol. This one is for Big Sexy, I found some green intamin track at the park and took a picture of it. I can't help but laugh every single time I look at this thread. It is pretty much a joke, so what's posted above this is a joke as well. I'd love to be able to actually find substance in this thread.
  16. Random-ish question....for those who have done this event before at KI, what do you bring with you? I'm trying to determine what is necessary to bring, although I've been to the park numerous times and have worked there, I don't know what to bring for the event. I can figure sunscreen, camera..but beyond that?
  17. I got that one as well. I'm assuming Don is sending us one as well.
  18. Creepy but cool videos Pepsi!
  19. I've not really seen or heard anyone that has said that KI NEEDS a Giga coaster right now. Will the park collapse if it doesn't get one right away? It hasn't yet. When CW announced Leviathan, it was almost certain that some thought that KI was getting a B&M Giga the following year (this year). However, it didn't and the park is still standing. To answer your question, why does the park need a Giga right now? At this very moment, it doesn't. Does the park need a Giga? I'd say yes. Why? To complete the idea of reaching new heights for the park. B&M rides in general are people eaters, so why not do so with a coaster that reaches 300 feet? Or any height or style of coaster? But why a giga? Because the park can, B&M can make it, the Giga coaster for B&M is something still new, there can still be tweaks made from Leviathan's layout and building process.
  20. Question, which park actually has every single type of coaster out there that fills up the coaster catalog? I don't understand the "in" thing because there were only 3 B&M hyper coasters that have opened between 2008-2010. One respectively for each year in the United States. Between the 2008 and now, I've seen more relocations of coasters and "new" types of coasters than constantly adding the same type of coaster throughout numerous parks. The new "in" thing is Wing Coasters because there were two that opened last year and one this year. So I guess that cancels out the inversions are no longer fun thought. In 2012, there was not a single Wooden Coaster that opened, so that wasn't the "in" thing, but this year, 3 have opened. Is that the new "in" thing? But to the comment of Hypers are no longer enough, how many parks can add a hyper? Should parks that already have a hyper add another? I seem to look at Canada's Wonderland that has a B&M Hyper and a B&M Giga and both attractions are doing just fine. I've got a few friends that visit that park frequently and both seem to have the same wait times generally. We've seen that the 300 foot mark hasn't curbed people for looking for more speed, height and airtime. Look at Top Thrill Dragster and Kingda Ka. They both have long lines generally. 400 ft plus. So I guess the question you're really asking is when is it enough. Well we won't know until we reach that point. Those who visit amusement parks tastes change constantly with the type/age/area of people. What was once thrilling in the 80s is no longer thrilling in 2013 generally. There are some rides that fit the category for some, but not for others. I guess I'm just frustrated with your post because you are speaking of the thoughts of all the coaster enthusiasts and "everyone." Me, do I want a Giga? Yes. Why? Because I think they are fun (I've only been on Intamin's), they give airtime and I love over-banked turns. Would I be happy if KI got an Inverted Coaster in 2014? Yes. Why? Because Inverts are fun. Would I be happy if KI got a coaster in 2014? Yes. Why? Because the park could benefit from any new coaster. Just because you've heard a certain number of enthusiasts or whatever that have said they want to get their "high" doesn't mean that everyone feels the same way. When talking about Coaster Enthusiasts remember you're talking about a lot of people on here and not everyone here feels the same way that you think all coaster enthusiasts feel.

  22. I can tell you They doesn't include KIC members. I believe all the decisions are still made at 1 Cedar Point Drive, what else would Rob Decker, Corporate Vice President of Planning & Design do?
  23. How about whatever KI gets is what KI gets. It's what they've determined they need not what anyone here on KIC thinks the park needs.
  24. LaRosa's Lady, she's my new favorite source of info!
  25. I can't stand the parks that use the seat belts as the primary restraint, but have a lap bar or OSTR. Millennium Force and TTD, depending on the seat, the seat belt is either long enough to have slack or almost too short for me to latch. I've gained a little bit of weight, but not to the point where I'm not able to ride a ride. I understand the seat belts need to be latched, but a ride op/host had a conversation with me earlier on Millennium Force and when I sit down the 2nd time I'm struggling to get my seat belt latched? Really?
