  1. Top Gun ... I don't see that ride on the 2013 park guide & map. I love this!
  2. So back to the original post of the video. While videos don't really give you the full experience, I have to say that Full Throttle seems kind of underwhelming. Look at the length of the video, under 1 minute without the unload portion. The layout to me seems really kind of boring, a giant loop, then what looks to be a s-curve or two, then a small dive loop into a tunnel to be launched backwards just a bit, then to be launched over the giant loop, and then back into the station. I've not ridden it so I can't truly judge whether or not it's awesome, but I can say that this coaster wouldn't be the thing that would draw me to the park. Thanks for posting the POV.
  3. I hate that it's called Thunderbolt Reborn. How is Thunderbolt reborn without it being a wood coaster or following the same layout?
  4. Who knows, this year may be different, the woman who was in charge of various things Haunt is no longer there.
  5. If you make a payment early, I believe you have to contact the park or do it at the park not 100% sure on this, but they will take the payment out on the original day as well. The payments come out on the assigned day until the total of the purchase is paid off.
  6. Where would you put it? I can't seem to place an actual area of land behind the Eiffel Tower that could house that ride or a queue for it. Remember before it was Snoopy's Starlight Spectacular, it was just an area of trees, grass, bushes, flowers, etc. Was that a waste of space? IMO I do wish they'd take Snoopy's Starlight Spectacular out, but it's in my opinion that nothing else should be there, there still needs to be some green space in the park.
  7. We have a name of a construction company! According to a Google search, it is a local company located in Mason that does not appear to have a website or Facebook page. I was hoping to look through a list of projects on their website for clues, but no dice. I did a search, they came up on the Better Business Bureau and it said this company is a concrete construction company.
  8. I can understand why some people bring a change of clothes and medicine into the park. But what I can't understand is why people bring in all kinds of other things, ipods, phones, expensive cameras (not talking about you jgoble3 I know you take some great shots), etc. when all they do is sit in the bag half of the time. It amuses me about how people get ticked when someone drops their phone off a ride, it gets stolen, etc. There's a risk if you take something on the ride of it falling and breaking, and there's a risk that something may get stolen if you don't secure it in a locker or in the car, the park isn't responsible.
  9. You got my names right! Great report Lucas! Very detailed and loved the pictures!
  10. That is interesting. Really not sure how I feel about that and/or how they got the restraints back together in enough time.
  11. It's pretty hidden. If you look next to the ICEE stand in Coney, and behind the baseball throwing game, you'll see it. To exit the ride queue toward the ride you had to go up a ramp. The queue was split level (I think that's the term I want to use---partially underground/cutting into the ground), so it can be a bit hard to see. http://www.KICentral.com/history/photos/albums/userpics/10001/flightque02.jpg
  12. I agree with this. My legs are too long to sit comfortably in the back of a car. On most coasters for me it's like this.
  13. I'm just now getting to some popcorn. This is getting good! Hey Terp will you pass the salt?
  14. Pretty sure the effect would have been turned off when the ride was stopped. Whether a ride is emergency stopped by operators or by the ride system, most effects are going to turn off.
  15. I noticed these were out during Coasting For Kids. One could assume they weren't put away at the end of haunt. One could assume they are being worked on. One could assume that they are just hanging out until they're ready to be used. Although, I did noticed during Coasting For Kids the Squad for Urgent Scare was no longer parked behind the Flight Commander queue like it used to be. No signs of it.
  16. Per the Huss website it is a standard Topspin. http://www.hussrides.com/classic-rides/top-spin.html Terp you bring up very valid points. Was it necessary to cut the restraints? Possibly? The riders were stranded for 2 hours before that happened. I guess that the ride operators/maintenance tried to open the restraints manually and they wouldn't. But who knows. (Yes, someone knows ha) I don't think any patrons were injured, just a bit frazzled as I would be. I can see legal actions coming. As for replacing the restraints....eh...maybe they'll just replace the ride with something else.
  17. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2342731/Forty-people-left-stranded-20ft-air-Chessington-World-Adventures-Rameses-Revenge.html Searching into this, Rameses Revenge, is a Huss Topspin. These Topspins don't have good track record it seems. This is gonna sound off the wall but this is the kind of news that seems appropriate rather than, Kings Island guests trapped on Adventure Express for 15 minutes. Does this story make you want to ride Topspins or not?
  18. That isn't track support. Looks like cables or metal rods.
  19. I don't know. Service roads are always changed and moved if necessary. If it doesn't need moved, it'll stay.
  20. There is nothing significant in that photo. Just the old Tomb Raider: The Ride Photo Booth, that's filled with different supplies and merchandise.
  21. I was talking about this with a friend the other day. Outside of Invertigo, Flight Deck, Vortex and Flying Ace which other coasters have been painted in the last 5-10 years? Diamondback is really starting to fade. Backlot I'm sure could use a paint job. We all know Racer needs painted. Firehawk could probably use a touch up or new paint scheme. So to answer this question: All but Invertigo, Flight Deck, Vortex and Flying Ace in my opinion.
  22. Just wondering if anyone got any photos during the event that they wouldn't mind sharing. I didn't get to capture many.
