  1. My only post on this and hopefully we'll get back on subject: On the first point here: Age doesn't have to do with maturity....how many people over 18 have been killed because they were drinking and driving? How many people have gotten hurt because there were driking and driving? How many people over 18 have killed or hurt other people because they were drinking and driving? So saying that the reasoning was that the youth were too young and immature and would drink and drive, isn't a valid point, many many many people over 18 do this and it's unfortunate. On your second point: Instead of posting about how you think the law should change on KIC, why don't you contact your representatives and senator? We don't have the powere here to magically change the law. Nor would I think KIC would get behind it, but you can actually be proactive and talk to your representatives and senator to maybe get your view point out there. And again, it's not a law that you have to be 21 to rent a room, it depends on the property and property owner.
  2. Hard: A full queue for Viking Fury Easy: Back Lot Stunt Coaster train coming out of the billboard
  3. I asked Don via twitter about the break run here's the conversation: So the brake run is down.
  4. http://www.lancastereaglegazette.com/videonetwork/1990841243001/Roller-coaster-crumbles-into-pieces This was on my local newspaper's site. USA Today picked up the story. I'm surprised we haven't heard anything about the brake run going down.
  5. Cam on k! is literally all they said aside from the perverted stuff.
  6. So....TylerRider and I have been getting some messages from member: J8257618 asking to skype with us seperately. I obliged, to see what was going on....upon starting a skype message, this memeber asked me to turn my cam on k. I declined as I didn't know them. Their information said they were male but their name was Lauren Crawford. They continued to ask me to cam on k. After declining again, they began to ask inappropriate questions and another member here can vouch for that. If you get a request, do not oblige. Just run away.
  7. In 2010 when I worked at the park, yes there were employee ride times, not days. Certain nights during the season, after the park closed to guests, the employees were invited to a couple of rides to ride for a couple of hours, while supervisors took care of running the rides. Food and other events happened as well.
  8. When I worked at the park, I lived in Wilmington. It usually took about 45 minutes to get there....I got there in 25 minutes, just in time for work. Thankfully no cops were out and didn't get pulled over.
  9. Yet, most of Cedar Point's haunts have some kind of security presence in or around the mazes.
  10. Just a guess, but prior to any actual removal of track and supports, I am thinking the electronic items including the drive box panel, sensors, phones, lights, etc. are removed. Things like those can be used again somehow.
  11. ^ I think that would be very cool. But, I dont think they want to make a scene at all. But is the coaster and its trains even in a good enough shape to be ran? Its been 3 years of just sitting there. But I dont know... just a theroy Thats true. But, you mentioned making a scene about Son of Beast. I agree with you about that but KIPR and Greg posted pictures of the demolition on Twitter. I would think that would get more publicity than just running a train though one more time. The most concerning factor is probably the trains. I think they have been sitting in this dirt patch since 2010. The thing with the trains, they're no longer there. They were removed about a month and a half ago, as stated by KingsIslandPR (Don) here on the forums.
  12. See the long "building" in the middle of the picture, and the building behind the billboard. Those would be where the tunnels are located, if that's part of your question, if not, hey there's some info! Everything that GYK said about the track is 99% correct. The other 1% is, that sometimes the lights on in the tunnels is alright
  13. http://www.visitkingsisland.com/blog-article/online-fun/Dismantling-of-Son-of-Beast-underway-at-Kings-Island Original, this isn't Twitter, but on the KI Website.
  14. I never have either. I do admit, I've got a piece of lumber from the Legend at Holiday World, but as nuts and bolts, how do you really know if that came from the ride unless you were there when they came off?
  15. While this isn't my favorite piece of memorabilia, I absolutely adore it!
  16. Keith, I miss you buddy! RIP

  17. Change the WindSeeker sound track options to more thrilling music rather than classical.
  18. I'm with you, I'm so intrigued by the breaks and the lift gear. Not just on Flight Deck. Riding Racer on Monday, I just kept staring at the breaks as they would open and close in the waiting breaks (sitting in the front seat of course).
  19. Isn't flight deck just a nice little walk semi-behind scenes of Son of Beast?
  20. Since you are a former employee of Kings Island, you should know that there are no pusher wheels on Flight Deck. In addition, the claim about blocking and Flight Deck's chain is correct. I didn't work on Flight Deck, nor have I looked it completely over. But I did just talk with a former supervisor on FD, and I stand corrected. Either way, didn't seem like the chain could keep up with the train. Haha. In reality, it's all about perception. To me, it could have been a slow lift, to someone else, it could have been a normal one.
  21. Understandable for both you Terpy and Browntggrr. Do you guys think the cost would be worth it, when it comes down to it? P.S. Browntggrr love the quote in your signature
  22. the first bit can be answered simply, block section. FD has always (in my memory) crawled up the lift hill, till about mid way up the lift. Sort of like The Beast. All about blocks. For the second bit; if I remember correctly Terpy once, twice, thrice even, spoke that parts can always be ordered. Trust me, I know about blocking, as a former ride op at KI, the lift literally was slow as molasses with the 1 train op compared to the 2 train op that is usually going on. However, my original point was that the lift hardly started before the train was all the way on the lift chain. It wasn't like the train got on the lift and then slowed down, it was more of the kicker wheels were sending the train out faster than the chain could get started for the journey upward. It just seemed odd to me that the lift speed didn't pick up until the train was fully on the lift and only having one train operating. FD has 3 blocks, Block A being the lift, Block B being the Brakes and Block C being the station. If both Block B and C were open (which they were) the lift should be at normal speed, as it's not waiting for the block to clear. However, the lift wasn't even at "normal speed" until the train was 3/4 of the way up, at 3/4ths of the way up, something kept squeaking as I stated in my last post fairly loud and long. I've ridden FD hundreds to thousands of times and have never heard or experienced that noise. Who's gonna make them though? I've heard rumblings that S&S Arrow do not make parts for Suspended coasters anymore on a couple other sites. Taking it with a grain of salt, but what happens when they stop? TombRaiderTy I totally forgot about Ninja at SFMM, mainly because I've never ridden it, so yes...4 on the North American continent haha. Don't get me wrong folks, I'd be devastated if Flight Deck left...but I am just saying I don't see it around for much more than 5 years. Just observations.
  23. The ride operator on WindSeeker yesterday while riding suggested that riders check out Dinosaur's Alive by saying: Make sure you check out Dinosaur's Alive in Coney Mall for a great family adventure. I want to be a T-Rex!"
