So rode FD twice today. I noticed that on the lift, it literally squeaked a fairly long and loud tone. The lift chain was barely moving, it wasn't until the entire train was on the lift, that the speed picked up. With S&S power taking care of Arrow coasters, I've heard that they've stopped carrying parts for the suspended coasters (as there are 3 on the North American Continent), making it harder for parks to get the parts when the rides go down. It makes me think that within 5 years, we won't have a Flight Deck.

Extremely sad to hear this news. Keith was such a great guy, both in the coaster community and when you got to know him on a more personal level. One of my favorite times with Keith was opening day last year when a group of KIC'ers, Keith and I were walking in the park trying to decide what to ride. We ended up in line for the Crypt when it broke down. We decided to stay in line because the A/C was great. We "tried" to figure out who's fault it was, somehow it got to be Keith's fault. After riding that, we ended up checking out a couple other rides. We finally decided to ride Racer (blue side). An almost full train of KIC members headed up the hill and got stuck 3/4ths of the way up. Who's fault was it? Everyone yelled to Keith, "way to break the ride Keith." He just laughed about it the entire day because it was just his luck that he was with some friends and things kept going down. I look back on that day and it has become one of the most cherished Kings Island visits for me. Keith will truly rest in peace and I'm sure he'll watch over all of us on our crazy coaster trips and throughout our lives. God Bless Keith and his family. RIP buddy!

Technically the one that is the 40th Anniversary for Kings Island is just for Kings Island. Whereas this one is the 40th Anniversary for Worlds of Fun.

How can Planet Snoopy stay the World's Best Kid's area?
Creed Bratton replied to SonofBaconator's topic in Kings Island
Don't forget the food...oh lord the food!!!! I agree with Terpy though, free admission (parking too), great rides, great help, great staff and great location! -
I could see it coming into AZ with a re-vamp..but we'll have to wait and see I guess.

Possible Ride Station Location?
Creed Bratton replied to DBInternational's topic in Coming Attractions
My guess for 2013 is Luminosity and Action Zone re-theme/sprucing up. 2014 Giga. -
^^^THIS^^^ To avoid 1 word posting: I agree with Dr. Humor Haha. I can't ever get over people being upset for a ride being down, I pose the question would you rather wait for it to open safely or would you rather ride it, have something go wrong, lose a body part or your life? Usually shuts people up right then and there.

I often think there should be a "Comments Posted to the KIC forums" But haven't seen any good ones on the FB, as you've all covered them.

I apologize for your frustration. Do know that the downtime isn't planned. Do also know, the blue shirts and maintenance aren't located at Beast or any other ride as they go down. The blue shirts, have an entire area to cover, as well as an office they could be located in working on paperwork for training, schedules, etc. Maintenance could be in the shop working on a part for a ride, building a haunt, etc. Needless to say an emergency on your part, doesn't constitute an emergency on the parks part, unless guests are stranded or injured. I'm sure there are numerous people who would say the park should have been urgent on a certain coaster in a partly actionless area, and would love to ride it. However, the park isn't going to allow a rider on a ride until the experience can be determined acceptable. So what to think? Just let it go. If something like this happens again while you are at the park, find a different ride to go to. Go to GR if you don't think the park is operating as fast as you think it should.

Based off of? Which ones? Which ones don't you have to? Use facts, not what you "know" Hank this is for you!

Will someone grab a pic, to show what the OP may be talking about?

I am and you're done. Why was I suspended for saying "Are you serious?" I posted earlier in this thread that I had a problem with the workers at Skyline and I was attacked by some posters for voicing my displeasure. Why weren't they suspended? I never cursed or threatened anyone and I was suspended for giving my opinion on a bad restaurant experience. Creating a 2nd account especially while suspended will lead to being completely banned. I'd go ahead and stop posting....delete your account and wait until your suspension is over before you cause yourself more trouble.

^^^THIS^^^ I'm sorry Bennett, but that's completely uncalled for. Who are you to judge the associates intelligence? I've been in the food industry on and off for the past 5 years. It's not easy. People need to realize that people who are in service jobs don't have it easy. Maybe the worker at Skyline just got yelled at, maybe they received bad news, etc. There's multiple reasons that your service could have been less than anticipated, but never assume it's because they're not the "best and brightest." That's just ignorant. If you really have an issue with an associate, instead of complaining about it on here, go to Guest Services, the message will get passed along and the situation will be monitored.

So I know it's not KI gear, but had to share this! (One day I'll get around to showing or telling of my KI Gear. So last year a friend and I met a woman (Kim) and her son at Cedar Point. Ended up showing them around and having a great time. I recently met up with them and a different friend a few weeks ago. We all were sad about Disaster Transport leaving, I told Kim that I had a picture of a Disaster Transport thing that I wanted to put on my van (nicknamed Disaster Transport) as a magnet. Well she found it on my Facebook and I got this in the mail today:

I could go for that!

While we're on it: https://twitter.com/coastopher Back to the recent topic: I've found that a way to deal with angry or misguided consumers on Facebook is to apologize (I know sounds stupid) about their experience, give examples of a good time that you've had at the park dealing with the subject at hand (i.e. Fast Lane in this case, haven't even used Fast Lane but Millennium Force FL wait was longer than the regular queue) and offer suggestions of how to improve their experience. All of this in a non-argumentative tone but in a helpful tone.

Needless to say, it's a rule at the park....don't break it. As HTCO said, its for your safety. Have you actually looked at the mid course breaks and the stairwell to get down from them? A very tall spiral, metal grated staircase. Tell me, if you were to be evacuated from that point, would it be comfortable on your feet? Overall, there are various factors to why KI requires you to wear your shoes/flip flops while riding, including manufacturers guidelines. I often wonder why people wear flip flops to a park anyway. Yeah, during the summer it's hot out, but the lack of support as you walk through the parks can't be good for your feet.

Permission to Record on Roller Coasters
Creed Bratton replied to xXDrummerKiDXx's topic in Kings Island
No matter what.....get permission from the park. Doesn't matter how the camera is going to be secured....GET PERMISSION. Without the permission of the park you are technically breaking the law. -
My 300th Ride with Gary Coleman, although he was at like 5,320 something With fraternity brother (he's in front) and my sorority sister and me! And a favorite ride photo that's a cousin of Diamondback.

I noticed last Saturday the old "Shaggy" guy being chased by the two skeletons, were in non-chase mode.

When I went to see the movie on Saturday, there were 3 total in my group, we were the only ones waiting as the doors closed. While we waited for our viewing, more people started to show. Now by more I mean 15 tops. Part of the reason I don't think this is high attended aside from the movie subject and it being a DA attraction is the route you have to go. You have to pass by WindSeeker, travel down the old exit and through the queue (which seems way out of the way).

I didn't see the original post...sorry!

I was also at the park that day...on Eiffel Tower, the Elevator Attendant told a guest that KI isn't operating SOB because it costs too much to maintain and that they bought 3 trains that didn't work on it. I was unaware of a 3rd lol.
