  1. No. Take Kings Island Dr. all the way to Western Row. Turn Left. Or Get off of 71 at Western Row. Turn right. After you turn onto Western Row, at the first light, turn left onto Columbia Rd. Park in the parking lot, and go to Human Resources. If you were looking at the front gate, it'll be to the right of that. It has an awning on it.
  2. Might I also add that they are actually putting GRASS under the ride. But then again, those were just renderings... From what I was told when I did a construction tour , there will be grass in the areas that were not in the parking lot portion (over by the old premium parking area).
  3. Terp, while I agree most would be huffing, puffing and snickering. I am still not the a fan of parking lot coasters, i.e. Intimidator at Carowinds (I do like Dominator at KD), I feel that Gatekeeper will give a better experience than the typical parking lot coaster. Gatekeeper, will make riders feel like they're going somewhere, passing the beach, passing over the main entrance, close to Blue Streak, etc. where as the typical parking lot coaster wraps just around the parking lot and the returning track passes by the same track the riders were just on. I know that Gatekeeper will do a little bit of both, but feel I think it'll be a much different experience having the fly-throughs and inversions.
  4. Why don't they move it to another CF park? My guess is that there isn't a high demand for El Dorado by park guests.
  5. How can you say the Crypt's cycle with its marry-go-round program was like TRTR?! Crypt didn't hold you upside-down, or do a top spin. And it was much slower. I agree with Nemo, GYK. The Crypt featured 2 flips in it's later years and the ride was slower than molasses. TR:TR featured 4 flips and held riders upside-down. Now post TR:TR early Crypt, 9 flips in the intense cycle for a year, TR:TR didn't hold a candle to that cycle.
  6. I am the same way...I hate when things area leaked before the announcements. But we'll see. You got rid of Drop Tower!
  7. Gator, ultimately let me know what you guys decide to do! I'd love to attend the event alongside the Gator family!
  8. The easy pay option for passes and hotels are such a great asset. I know it's helped me out financially. I was confused by the topic title though...I thought I could put some merch on layaway. Thanks for posting about this Colonel_SoB_fan
  9. Just for my gifted Language Arts class went to Put in Bay, and Stone Lab(Ohio State's fresh water out post) for a couple of days. We never go to Cedar Point, and I guess we won't go to Kings Island either, although you can see Cedar Point from the top of Perry's Monument. In 8th grade we took a trip to Cedar Point. Somewhere in High School we took a trip to Kings Island. And we went to Stone Lab/Put In Bay for a week, one of the best trips I had.
  10. Low ridership, cost of fuel wouldn't justify it's removal? Since we all are predicting....I predict at least one more removal of something...whether it be building or attraction. I predict the area to be a little bit more open. I personally cannot wait to see what AZ will look like this year.
  11. Hahaha, that was me! Oops! I was not feeling good what so ever and I kept trying different ways to type: coasteraddedtoKIin2009, coasteraddedtokiin2009, etc. lol. Anyway, thanks for sharing!
  12. I don't remember this...what was the deal with Kingda Ka as the name?
  13. I would like to do it at KI because it's my "home" park even though I'm half way between both KI and CP. The only reason I wouldn't do CP's is that I wouldn't know anyone up there doing the event, like I would at KI.
  14. Interesting! I do call for a AZ revamp. Would love to see it completely spruced up. I wonder which buildings if any will be gone next season.
  15. I cannot wait for this event again. Last year was my first year and I did it at Dorney Park. This year it's between Kings Island and Cedar Point. Hmmm...what to do?
  16. I love the update so far. The only thing I've noticed is that when you read all of the topics in a sub-forum (what have you) the home page still shows un-read posts after you either post something or if you have read it.
  17. I asked on their facebook page whether or not the slides that have been in the field behind the water park would be used, specifically if the ones bought from Wyandot Lake (now Columbus Zoo) would be constructed or not. From their response, it seems that they will be evaluating which slides they can use and which can be used for parts in the future. I'd like to see them back up and running again. I've personally never been to the Beach, but may have to make a trip this year.
  18. I've only visited Hanks a couple of times. I've had a bite of the food, it was good. The main thing I like about Hanks is the atmosphere it does give. There is nothing like sitting on the "deck," having a bite to eat, feeding the fish and just relaxing. The atmosphere is great. I personally think it's a hidden jewel for the park.
  19. I've heard that the wheels are to blame and I've heard that the track is to blame. Those who don't know, ask. Those that know, don't share.
  20. I don't see one ever coming to Kings Island. I'm not sure of the popularity of the one at Cedar Point but I know every time I pass it, there isn't many people around.
  21. Recently? Have you checked at the park? The last time I was there (end of August) it was still there. I don't think a missing "themed prop" means the ride is leaving.
  22. I'm assuming it is from the old Wild Animal Safari.
