SIX Flags 2018 Announcement Video
Creed Bratton replied to MDMC01's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I honestly feel like this 2018 line up is very bland. Yes they've got those cool new flats at 2 parks...I'd love to ride one. Twisted Cyclone just seems like they were like okay we really don't want to do much to this park but we need to keep the coaster count up....let's throw a RMC in....and that name is soo bland. I do like how this is the only true RMC conversion in the chain and yet Cedar Point is still going bigger. I'm cringing at the names like "Crazanity" and "Spinsanity." I love that Mexico is getting a Free Fly coaster...those are a lot of fun IMO. I like that Discovery Kingdom is getting a Skywarp.....although I'm not sure if I'd consider that a new credit. We all knew about the coaster at Fiesta Texas...that'll be cool. St. Louis gets the shaft again as does America. I had to laugh when Jim Reid Anderson said that Great America was getting the tallest super loop....woo? Still doesn't make it a coaster. Overall, I was hoping to see more "new" stuff with Six Flags. To be fair, Cedar Fair parks did announce on the same day (most of them) but they announced at different times and in each individual parks way. Not a Youtube announcement for the entire chain. -
Your best bet would be to either contact the park or to ask your job. Some here may have been at the park during a private event but I'm not sure who/how many have experience with the private events/food options.

Kings Oskand?

If the rumors are true, a dining area similar to the new smokehouse in Soak City will be heading to Coney Mall, across the path. Maybe there will be 2 ;-)
-
Why does it matter if there is a county fair close? Remember Kentucky Kingdom literally as the State Fair at the park.
-
I'd love to see them add the kiosk for FunPix...of course, I think it'd be silly to just have one though. I remember there have been a few different times that the booth has been open and then closed and then open again in the past couple of years too.

It's likely to use the maintenance shed at the beginning of the ride and it's likely to just be some silly decorations. I don't necessarily have a problem with the trains, I just have an issue when the restraints are being lowered. I hate that I have to tuck my feet/legs under my seat until after the restraints are locked. That's extremely uncomfortable.

Certain things are available for $1...like a slice of pizza, a hot dog, some games, etc.

I cannot comment publicly as to who or why the decision was made. Just that the decision was made and it has been encouraged for those who liked it to contact the park to request it back, which can be done through the contact us form on the website, calling the call center and using #bringbackIStreetInstrumental on Twitter when mentioning @kingsislandpr

I think it'd be different if Racer wasn't necessarily an out and back coaster. It seems as if Colossus had a much bigger footprint/layout (judging on what I remember seeing of POVS but not fact).

Pop music back on International Street
Creed Bratton replied to BlondyRidesOn's topic in Kings Island
Nope, the music was purchased as such to play in the park. -
You can ask @malem @IndyGuy4KI @CoastersRZ @BoddaH1994 that as he knows the situation alongside with myself. And since you brought it up, I assisted a few others on putting the playlist together for the instrumental music on International Street. In conversations with Mike Koontz, he loved the music on International Street and was all for the change, but the decision came from above him. That's all I can say about it.

The marketing definitely wasn't geared toward college students. Yes they used a hashtag. But I work with high school kids all of the time and they use hashtags like no ones business. But either way, Mystic Timbers was geared toward families. All of which has no meaning when it relates to music they play in the park. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

So you are comparing a marketing campaign to music played in the park as if they both are driving forces to get college aged students into the park? Marketing campaigns....yes a way to get people into the park. Playing Justin Bieber and other top 40 tracks on International Street......not a way to get or reason for people to come to the park. Unfortunately it looks as if the music is gone for now. I know the team who put together the music for the update. It was a decision that came from above the gm. I suggest if you want it back, you contact the park by using the contact us form AND using the hashtag #bringbackIStreetInstrumental Let's try to bring back the good music! Just a reminder friends, if you are going to say someone told you something, you need to share who told you as not saying who it came from is against the Terms of Service here on KIC.

Single rider lines don't really help....especially when you have folks getting in the single rider line with their friends and still group together. Most single riders I've known or have seen go specifically to seats/rows they want to ride in and won't go where there's an empty seat. Banshee wouldn't even be a good candidate for this. There operations are a lot quicker than other rides in the park....why sacrifice operation times to fill empty seats when it's been proven each year, by ride numbers, that it's ridership is doing quite well.

I would just like to see a bit more variety....while I eat a lot of chicken...I'd like to have more options (I don't really eat red meat).
-
That's been there for a few years.
-
Ahh! To me, it makes it seem too silly to announce that early.
-
Did they say specifically it was going to be in late April/early May? I never rode with the old...however, I'd say Thunder Run was very bland to me. When @NoChickens, @Mrs. No Chickens and I rode it, it felt so slow and felt as if we were going to valley.
