  1. Unacceptable? Nah.....what's unacceptable is a ride operator not checking restraints or letting a child who isn't tall enough ride.
  2. Would this be what you needed? http://www.meadvilletribune.com/news/local_news/conneaut-lake-park-trustees-tax-creditors-to-file-bankruptcy-plan/article_436907fe-3dc9-5794-9ea9-a53e1455f874.html
  3. The article states this happened around 9:20 pm. Is her cell phone really so important she couldn't wait 40 minutes until the park closed? Wow.....
  4. Would love to see it. I don't think I'll be seeing any Kentucky Kingdom commercials in Columbus.
  5. Ooo! Still wish they'd be able to put season long drinks on our pass. It'd eliminate the need for a cup. Sent from the cellphone Zach Morris used in Saved By The Bell using Tapatalk
  6. Could be said the same for Vekoma flying coasters. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. How'd that work out for Holiday World? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Knoebels may have a problem with it as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Apparently riders were stuck upside down today due to rain storm. http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/alton-towers-visitors-left-hanging-7880198 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I honestly thought about asking for that many cups, but I didn't feel like carrying them all to my table. There definitely were a lot of water fountains around from what I remember.....not terrible. There is more shade than Kings Island.
  11. The associate grabbed a regular size cup when I said I wanted a water. He said, "your total is $4.13." Dumbfounded, I said what for, he replied "the water." To which I replied "no thanks." They promptly dumped the cup and threw it away. Really? I then asked if they had water for free and they gave me the Kinzel cup. I believe on the menu boards, they have the regular soda options up there with the price of sizes of those, they also have the Dasani bottle deal up there. However they don't have a picture or any note of tap water. So why would a regular tap water be $4.13? If they're going to charge for water in those cups...those should be on the board in my opinion.
  12. You're allowed to think we're wrong, so thanks! I've been to the park and worked at the park on insanely busy days and no-so-busy-days. ERT has been as bad and worse. I hope if that point comes in May where it's a "problem" those folks contact the park. That's the true way to have your voice heard.
  13. But want to charge $4.13 at Coney Potato Works like they did me Opening Day. I said no thanks.
  14. So go tell the park that. Go to guest relations, email them. I'd prefer the whole park be open for ERT, but that's not realistic. Having one or two more thrill rides is. The thing is, they normally don't announce ERT line up until a few weeks before the park opens. Folks should be able to expect some sort of change from the previous year. Whether it's two rides all season or a rotating schedule like we have this year. ERT rides are not guaranteed until scheduled. Who knows, Kings Island may be testing this out to see how it works. They may not do it again next year. I cannot encourage you (in general) enough to actually give feedback to the park. Honestly, if it's on here, they see it as it must not be important or they would have came to Guest Relations or sent us an email. So you are speaking for a whole lot of folks? Opening day I heard a few people say oh wow this line is long but they left it at that. But I did not hear one person say, man they need to open up another coaster because this isn't ERT. You've also got to realize the lines are wayyyyy longer this year but they're generally always long on the first few weekends if the weather is good. Once the season enters into daily operations the lines will thin out I'm sure.
  15. A Gold Pass Renewal right now is $102, a brand new one is $123, one day admission (with the online fee) is $50. So if you visit the park 3 or more times, it's like you've already "paid off your pass" through admission. They would be losing out on something. Staffing the rides cost $....during ERT restaurants/shops aren't typically open so they wouldn't be bringing in any money, but they'd be paying out in labor. The fact here is, they open the park early for Gold Pass and Platinum Pass holders when they technically don't have to. Nah I don't have many things that bother me. Plus what's wrong with asking some innocent thought provoking questions... Truth be told this is more fun asking people to explain why they are upset Why am I upset? Same price, less perks. Confusing? But there aren't less perks. They actually have more rides open than they did last year. They just don't happen to be your cup of tea. Everyone who has a pas has an equal opportunity to ride rides on ERT. Some just get to the rides much earlier than others. Some run to rides (though I don't suggest it).
  16. I feel like a lot of folks here have problems with food service but not everyone has problems with ERT. Why do you think some folks have problems with ERT the way it is and some don't? I promise I'm not trying to be condescending just trying to see both sides of the subject.
  17. Not to argue but they typically start promoting Gold Passes heavily before they go away for the season (May 30th I think). They are using the Top 100 Reasons to have a Gold Pass Campaign to help sell them, it's not like they are saying everyone come to ERT through that being on the front page, just showing off one of the many benefits. Let me ask you, is ERT the only thing you use your pass for?
  18. To piggy back on your statement about ERT being extended if it helps sales or not.....it doesn't. If anything the park loses money through labor during that time. If shops and restaurants were open at that point, then I think they'd be helping sales.
  19. Let us know what they say. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. I was stating a personal fact, that those things aren't a big deal to me. The point of my post all the way through is that if this is truly something that you think needs addressed then you should speak directly to the park. With the comments about others not having a home park just a simple reminder to be thankful. As some have pointed out here and around the boards some parks don't have ERT and some parks are no more. This post and my previous were my constructive criticism. I'm guessing those who consider the posts using constructive criticism as whiny and all that stuff are saying so because it seems like the complaints are just being left here and not being directed to the park. If the posts said something like "I was unhappy with ert today because I didn't even get to participate due to not getting into the park until 10 even though I was in line at 9, so I went to guest services and here is what they said...." I would bet the conversation would be different. For the final time, I will say I agree wit a majority of these posts and say they are legitimate. I would love for those who have the suggestions/comments to actually take them to the park that way it's a better experience overall for all of us. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I see you didn't read what I wrote..... I changed the font to where I said anything about a big deal. That being, to me it's not a big deal if I don't get to do x y or z. I asked valid questions, posed other viewpoints and ways to bring concerns up to the park. Not once did I criticize a single person. If you would have also read my last few lines, I said I agreed with a lot of thoughts in the thread. Just because someone offers thoughts doesn't mean they're criticizing you or any other posters.
  22. Some eerie pictures of the park that were posted on MSN today: http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/offbeat/this-abandoned-amusement-park-from-the-1900s-looks-straight-out-of-a-horror-film/ss-BBrYYRn#image=1
  23. Why do I stand up for the park? Because it's not a big deal that I didn't get 3204230 rides during ERT. It's not a big deal that there were so many people in line for the Woodstock Gliders and I didn't get to ride it right away. At least we have a "home park" that we can go to. Those who frequented Geauga Lake and called it their "home park" cannot say the same. Those participating in ERT have a season pass whether it be Gold or Platinum. There are multiple chances for said ERT participants to experience ERT and the line up. Is only getting one ride on Diamondback during the 1/2 hour allotted for ERT really worth being so upset about? I mean at least you have the opportunity to go to a park where others don't have parks around them or can't afford to go to a park. If it's truly an issue for you, go to Guest Services, send an email to the park. It shows more passion and how you think something needs to be changed if you actually take the time to talk to the park directly than talking about it on a unaffiliated park forum. I'm not saying these thoughts throughout the thread are invalid (I agree with a lot of them). I'm saying look at how others may not be as fortunate as you to go to a park and to actually engage in conversation with the park if you're passionate about it.
