  1. I haven’t noticed it at KI (also wasn’t really looking) but just got back from Disney and every manager/corporate person in the park had a garbage picket/grabber. As they stoped to talk to guests or employees they would just pick up stray garbage. Could be a lack of direction from management
  2. I don’t know where else to post this so it goes here. watching a documentary about The Beast they talk about the original speed (before it opens to the public), but never mentions the original speed. Has that ever been announced anywhere? also the doc featured our own Don. Don if you read this, when did you start counting your racer rides?
  3. So i used to work in local TV (not here but in this state and New York) for few different NBC stations. So in a nutshell, you as a reporter might put together a story (think video and script) and if you think its newsworthy for other parts of the country, then you can upload it to one of two different national services. 1 being the NBC site (CBS and ABC have similar, not sure on fox) where any other station that pays to be an NBC affiliate could use it. The other one is your tv group in which your station is owned. So when I lived in Elmira NY my tv Station was owned by Newport News (who owned Local 12). So if you upload to that then any station that’s owned by the same group can use the story (no matter if they are ABC or NBC). This is why so many smaller stations can be clipped to show they have the same news story. what John runs is a tv package and they can be uploaded in the same way. In some special cases (not with the don’t waste your money) the individual reporter may own the rights and can sell it to as many different markets as they want to.
  4. The food consistency is the one thing that gets stuck in my crawl every single time (probably because I grew up with a parent who ran restaurants). Many times with theme park jobs (IMO) is the pay is not high enough to bring people in who want to care about the food service jobs. They are hard and thankless job so often times people burn out.
  5. I assume like you that we have to question the validity of this entire post. (And if its not valid) The why seems like they either have axe to grind or want the internet fame
  6. Again I was speaking from past experience in general. Most PR teams wait to see what legal ramifications could happen from the event and are very close to the vest. If something looks to victim blame or could have happened because they were negligent. Again having worked the media side of events, PR teams are not known for telling us (news) things till they know what the story is and how they can control the narrative without opening them selves up legally. Just because you do not see the legal ramifications doesn’t mean someone else couldn’t. And yes, social media and PR have changed drastically in the last 6 months let alone years. People consume media so fast and spread information so fast that when stuff is delayed by hours or days it feels like a massive cover up. Can we Monday morning QB what we would have done, sure. But fortunately or unfortunately KI doesn’t owe us immediate information till they can verify what why and how something happened. I’m the first to decry KI when things go wrong but the PR machine not getting information out to the gen pop is not one of those times.
  7. I am reminded of Terp’s “Those who know don’t speak and those who speak don’t know.” Having worked on the media side of things for years, it’s very common for PR teams to hold information till they know what is happening and figuring out what can be said legally.. Also comparing CP and KI events are completely different. Twitter and the impression of twitter has changed so dramatically in the last 2-3 years. It used to be the go to spot now it’s not.

  9. Not to be pessimistic but I don’t see moonlight gardens staying. The 5.7 million feels low and I think it’s done on purpose they announce it will cost 5.7 then down the road they say ope our bad it will be 10-12 million and it’s just too much while demo is only 1 mil (or something like this )
  10. Saw this post on Facebook. Looks to be drone shots of them destroying the pool. I do hope they save moonlight gardens. Had my first dance and real kiss there. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/SYPvJue5rPaoR9mj/?mibextid=WC7FNe
  11. That’s a different argument and one I can understand. The person I was replying to was implying (the way I read it) that it hasn’t been popular in a long time. I personally think parks need some IP. Would I love to see HB back? Yes but that’s not realistic. Looney Tunes and DC would fit better in kid land than Peanuts (talk about dated). but if you do IP well (and not just slap paint but done well think Original Top Gun) then I’m all for it.
  12. The Lebron one. The one that is on HBO Max featuring video game characters. as for the big three, you’ve got two cartoons out right now doing the cradle to adulthood (bat wheels and teen titans go). You’ve got the new CW Superman show in it’s like 5th season. Plus movies (the super pet movie, the live actions, etc) the conversation isn’t “is spiderman more popular”, he’s always been. But to say DC is not popular is arguing in bad faith. Just because you don’t watch doesn’t mean there isn’t shows out there.
  13. I mean Looney tunes has a newish show on HBO max (ended last fall?) and tiny tunes just came back on air plus my kids and their friends watched the heck out of space jam…. My kids are 10, 7, 3…. Are they as famous as they were? No. But outside of the peanuts movie every now and then and the holiday specials my kids don’t seek out Peanuts … also are we kidding on the DC ip? Every kid knows the big 3
  14. Days like today I miss terp and what they would have brought to this discussion. I hope they bring the best from both companies. I can only imagine what a FUN mentality could do with IP from SIX. But if it’s SIX with FUN IP I worry. do we need to get our last rides of Beast and Racer in?
