  1. I would much rather not waiting at all but I can afford that option:) I believe the stopwatch on your phone. Minimal time to me is 15-30 seconds per ride. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I actually used your numbers and used "wait time" versus capacity. This time we will use your numbers of 110 (current) -95 (ideal?) gives us about a 15 second difference. Still using your 36 trains per hour that you mentioned above, you are adding about 540 seconds or 9 minutes on to your hourly wait. So if seat belts honestly were slowing things down we are talking about, on average 9 minutes/hour, or roughly 1/6th of an hour. Spreading this out through a 10 hour day, you are looking at a total time difference of 90 minutes. Sooo again 90 minutes extra per day divided by an average of 3 mins (again the supposed time of a DB train) you are looking at now 30 less trains per day, or 3 less trains per hour. Again not talking Dispatch times. Talking the suppose wait being added by seat belts would be 9 mins / hour. A 30 minute wait would not be 34:30, a 60 minute wait would not be 69 minutes. Thats if you are talking only about seat belts.... As some on here have stated, they feel that their time has increased by double or triple. So I am to suggest this. Either capacity has been effected minimally and it only feels like a longer wait, so it is nothing more than your mind playing games on you. Or there are other factors to it than the seat belt game. It could be some of the following reasons: Bins Staffing Fast Lane Etc....
  3. Correlation does not mean causation... Just because B happened does not mean its caused by A. Numbers dont match. Secondly taking your guestimate "average" of 9 seconds per train and your average of 36 trains per hour you are looking at a grand total of 324 seconds or an additional 5 minutes per hour, or on total of a 10 hour day, just about 50 minutes added to the whole day. If your average DB ride time is 3 minutes, that means about 16 less trains are being dispatched every ten hours or roughly 2 (1.6) trains per hour.... Banshee is listed as a 2:40 ride while DB is a 3 minute ride, Banshee also moves (supposedly) 30 more people per hour.... I would guess those are in ideal situations. I have not timed a Banshee roll in and roll out but I would guess its about half the time as DB and Banshee has seat belts.... Lets say it again.... Correlation does not mean causation!!!
  4. The following is from a person who is not a lawyer, and should not be considered in any way shape or form legal advice. For Legal advice please contact an appropriate person..... Reading through the agreement it looks like the best of both worlds for Disney, at least on face value. To the best of my information, the only Universal Studios that has a Marvel Universe is Orlando. Which may mean that Disney (appears) is free to use Marvel Characters/rides/etc in any other park. Even in direct competition with a Universal Studios. Since MCA (Universal at the time) did not develop other Marvel lands during the specified time points. Marvel (Disney) receives the following from Universal: % of merchandise sale licensing fee 10,000 square foot store to sell goods final rights on how their characters are portrayed Advertising in Comic Books (which is a big deal in this day and age) Marvel can terminate for any of the following reasons The land is not open (so they cant cut into the land, make smaller, etc) They feel their characters are being represented they feel they are not at a percentage of advertising that was part of the contract Its a very interesting contract to read. All in all, Disney does not have to pay to maintain a Marvel Land in Orlando, but they get the benefits of the income. If Disney/Marvel wanted to they could throw their weight around and potentially be a stickler to the contract. Universal must keep the Marvel Universe open or risk losing the characters. I did find this part to be the most interesting: Let me flex my nerd muscles for a moment: The current families being used are as follows: Fantastic Four (The Doom ride) which includes, Galactus, Silver Surfer, and few others Spiderman (The Amazing Spidey ride) which includes an entire truckload of villains and supporting characters including Kingpin (arcade) (which may mean that Universal owns Daredevil and Punisher as well) X-Men (Storm and Magneto rides/places) the merry band of mutants includes about 200 characters. Avengers (Captain America Cafe and Incredible Hulk) this gives Universal access to the Avengers which includes ol' tin head (Iron Man) and the god of thunder Thor. Along with respected villains and side characters. Sooooooo knowing my Marvel Universe that leaves the following characters/stuff available: Guardians of the Galaxy Blade Howard the Duck Deadpool (he was in a Wolverine movie, but never really an X-Men) Ka-Zar (but has been visited by X-Men) So not many crowd pleasers/family friendlies in that bunch.... http://thedisneyblog.com/2013/06/14/theme-park-wars-forgotten-chapter-the-marvel-universe/ Option B would be awesome. I dont see it happening but it would be great. From partaking in the movies/comics/and theme parks, I personally dont see a big push by Disney to reacquire, in the short term, its missing Marvel properties. Fox and Sony keep producing movies of their characters. This puts more money in the house of mouse. Universal Studios keeps paying its biggest rival more money to use its properties. Disney wins, we win sort of.
  5. Ya know.. I rewrote Dinosaurs Alive to have the right capitalization because I thought, "Oh I dont want to be caught for improper capitalization".... D'Oh! I never even thought about the WW part...
  6. Don't forget Disney gets paid just to have another park promote their goods. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Yes that would stop the random thief just trying codes to open it up, but not stop the would be thief from watching a person enter a code then coming back and using it.
  8. Congrats! My son and I are using the park as our daily stroll! I am currently doing a fit bit for steps and Weight Watchers for food. Doing a lap around the park + Dinosaurs Alive gives me almost 10000 steps.... TEAM KI WEIGHT LOSS!
  9. I have never been a big fan of key pad lockers. Give me the locker with a key and its usually a safer bet. Unfortunately, if someone wants to take something of yours, they will find a way to do it, no matter what security you put up.
  10. Yea you are starting to see this model in other places as well, for example the Reds. The idea is that you should be able to get the same amount of bodies in each and every day by changing the pricing to meet demand. Indy Zoo is not supported by tax dollars, yet if you read the comments section people are upset about how they cant afford to go etc. Heres my thing, and Im sure I will take some flak for this, if you want to go, you find a way to pay for nice things. Some people are upset because of the pricing and how high it might be on a weekend. Well, maybe dont go on a weekend. Maybe save money somewhere else.
  11. As of an hour ago they were not... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I have actually never met anyone from here Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Yea I'm in chicken shack and it is defidently cycling today Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Well as I have previously said, I am more novice than pro when it comes to identifying coaster manufacturers..... But yes that is 100% true . Could be that my favorite ride is Top Thrill and that's just because of the acceleration. The rest of Hulk, for me, was similar to many other coasters and I didn't think it offered me a unique experience while at iOA. Compared to the Music coaster at Universal, which did offer a unique ride experience of going through building, the 90 fear inducing lift, and the music. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Well if I win the lotto I know I will have to spend 125k to put those in my basement theater in my half million dollar mansion haha Sent from my SM-T520 using Tapatalk
  16. When we went to Universal, my wife and I were shocked that we could both get complete meals at Mythos and our bill was around 25/30 dollars! We were expecting 25-30 per person. If it wasn't for the season plan I wouldn't be eating in the park this year at all. Skyline is 10 minutes away and you can feed 2 for the price of that combo. Sent from my SM-T520 using Tapatalk
  17. I need to try row 4 next time. Row 5 fit just about right but needed the ride op to buckle it for me.... That best part of Hulk, IMO is the launch. The rest is just a ride.... Not sure which part of Banshee I enjoy the most yet Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Is there any close proximity SF/CF competition with each other? I know all parks are chasing that elusive vacation family or road trip family, but is there any two parks that are located with in a few hours of each other? Similar to the old KK and KI or SF Ohio and CP?
  19. The more we use this meal plan the more I see the price rising or this going away for next season.... It really is a superb deal Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Yea I'm more of a wine and whiskey type of person... So I feel the not beer vibe Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Which investment are you speaking ? The close of GL dry side? Purchase of GL? Or the cost to move it? People still line up for it, it's a unique experience, and no real reason to close or move it as it's not currently a maintence nightmare or in the way Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I understood that. But it worked well with my Problem: fix thing I was doing Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Well people get off of almost any coaster and can complain of being a bit sore, but I don't think anyone have legit reasons for the removal of the ride. Crackled speakers: could be fixed Fabric torn : fixable Tunnels not as awesome : fix/overhaul but still fixable Lift hill stoppage: it's part of a blocking scheme As said above me it fills a nice niche in the park. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Tried looking through about 4 pages of threads... what seat is the big guy seat again?
  25. I was actually pretty happy with how quickly in and out I was yesterday on the ride. And to be honest, if something as simple as a 2 dollar locker would keep you from enjoying a world class ride or park, then well maybe you are strung a bit too tight. There are other things to lament about than a locker..... Things worse than a 2 dollar locker in the world: War, Hunger, Poverty, Justin Bieber, Chevrolet ignition problems Things worse than a 2 dollar locker in Kings Island, but not worse than the stuff in the world: waiting in long lines, not winning a game, winning a big prize at a game, getting wet, being hot, skinning your knee, running out of soap, walking up to a dinosaur in Dinosaurs Alive and just missing its movements, Walking past a dinosaur and it starts moving when you leave, too much cheese on a coney, not enough cheese on a coney, etc etc etc
