  1. Dont read the comments section. Many people state their opinions based on information from Blackfish... If these people who are chanting to end Sea World, would put their time/money behind anti-drug or drunk driving initiatives, this world may be a better place. Imagine all the people living life today.... oh sorry. Imagine all of these people working to together to end poverty. Where is our national documentary on the poor and uneducated...
  2. As in any hobby, a thing is only worth what someone will pay. If it's listed at 5k and sells for 10k then the value is more I have seen many hobby items "valued" at a certain price and sell for less than half that and some for twice tht price Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Well to be fair you don't see (at least yet ) CF answering back with another bigger badder one ... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. And I think that was my point (or one of them). I think we are at a point where Epic Coasters are not going to be the norm. No more coaster wars of fastest, tallest, etc for the time being. I, too, agree that the era of family coasters is a very welcome sight Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. they are not making you use it. You can still be spur of the moment. They are upgrading their previous system. If you dont want to pre-plan your ride order, then nothing affects you..
  6. I know an audio board master and possibly someone on here who could direct a multi-camera feed for a live production.... i mean if you are looking for two capable people, Don..... just throwing that out there
  7. I agree with you with the folks in the place using your concert/reds ticket. Heck I was on my way out of a Reds game last season and this dad and son were watching from standing room only. I asked if they planned to stay the rest of the game (my son was getting tired so we left, at the time he was 5 months?), they said yes. So I gave them my tickets. I wish I would have traded (11Ks that night) but I agree with you. I think thats the rub. I can see why its wrong because you are taking your pass that you paid for and used then giving it to someone else who didnt pay for it. In a perfect world, it wouldnt matter, but the park wants their money.
  8. So here is a good rebuttal. If you dont believe that transferring a Fast Lane pass is wrong, would you give them your KI/Reds/Concert/etc ticket to someone outside the gates after you left the park. Is that wrong? Thems the rules.
  9. So what happened to the original? Break/destroyed?
  10. Well unless you get a group of people to stand outside the gate of KI and protest/complain.....
  11. Where did you get the number from? Just wondering if it is a published study. Could it be that we are interpreting the wait as slower. I saw a post on here a few pages back that said a few years ago, one of the KIC users waited an hour and it felt like 30 mins but this year he waited an hour and it felt like 2 hours. Same amount of waiting.... Its funny how our brains perceive things. Its 100% possible that the seat belts are not slowing the ride down by much or if any, but because we know there is a new restraint added, it makes us believe the line is slower. Could it be that ride ops may not be 100% warmed up yet? Could it be that maybe there are more FL people? What if the guests are just slower? The belts are here. No use in complaining....
  12. Which makes it a luxury the way KI is centered between two major highway entrances/exits, plus 2 non-highway exits to go west. Its nice to be able to turn out of KI and go right onto a high way. Now imagine if Kings Island Drive was closed in both directions just south of the park but north of Western Row Road, all of the traffic would have to head north and that would be a nightmare.
  13. Well 25-45 years ago, a kids meal was an appropriate size. I have found myself getting a kids meal when I have to eat fast good. Cuts the calories and I can use the prize as an incentive for my kiddos Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I read Cane's paid more than a million dollars for that location and the guys owning Five Guys said that was more profit than they would have made as a restaurant there in 10+ years. Thats why they sold it to Canes. Whoa baby.....
  15. True! I believe we as a community had the same spirited discussion about injuries on SOB Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I put a similar link in the park history link . Lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Guns don't kill... It's the bullets really Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Pre-existing conditions killed those two.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. http://www.themeparktourist.com/news/20140423/17665/video-riders-enjoy-seven-dwarfs-mine-train-disneys-magic-kingdom Ride was seen with riders filming for a commercial!
  20. I didnt know it either. BUt the article did say the ride many of us would ride in the 90s was different than the one that originally opened that causes grief for the park. When did SOB experience a sudden stop? I thought the incident was the crack and it was a big bounce not stop...
  21. The Golden age of Roller Coasters was, according to ACE, the 1920s . The Revival was 1972. The Preservation era of the 90s and now in the realm of record breakers and pushing the limits. We all know about the Euthanasia Coaster. But I ask when will we stop? At what point do we stop pushing the limits because the only limit is death? Are we nearing that edge now? We can only have so many inversions or speed or lateral gs, or length, etc before the body cant handle it. Look to CP. They pushed the limits with Millie, TTD and then throw at us Maverick and Gatekeeper. KI had SOB and then answered with Diamondback and Banshee (breaking a length record). I guess I wonder if we have seen the last of the Roller Coaster Wars or if they will return for more record breakers in the near future. Do you create a park with such high thrills that only a select few want to visit or do you go the safe route and make the most money? Personally, I think we have seen the end of the coaster wars for at least the next decade or two. What else can be done in coasters? 4d, suspended, stand up, inside, outside, inverted, flying, many flips, no flips, speed, height, splash downs, backwards, forwards.
  22. is that a good or bad grr? I only got to ride it one time (evidently right before it closed, I didnt know it at the time). I loved going through the town and down the embankment.
  23. And see I rode Maverick and was unimpressed. The launch was a nice effect but the flinging left and right for that coaster was not for me. TTD however was great! Elite even! My top coasters: Beast, TTD, Griffin, Big Bad Wolf (havnt ridden Banshee) Top over all rides: Harry Potter, Beast, TTD, Griffin (the suspended feeling is awesome)
  24. I think when we look at a coaster like The Beast in comparison to big thrill rides (TTD for example) it becomes very tame. However, it is not always a family ride. It may seem that way to many of us, but to families that go once a year, The Beast may be a mile stone ride (I finally over came my fear or man I rode the rough Beast, example). It does bring me to a question, when is enough enough. When do we hit a point for coasters where nothing is new anymore. When does it become to extreme? The Beast is a long coaster. One day someone may beat it, but why? We saw with SOB that a big drop isnt always the best. Yet a fairly fun coaster has just been built on property that boasts of longest, as well. Also, I would like to take this time to publicly apologize for my crack at "bed time" to Zerogee. It was uncalled for and not in the spirit of these forums. I was just tired and wrote before thinking. Please accept this picture of a cake as payment:)
