Yeah Im not sure what I would have done, but you handled it better than I would have. How did you get a hold of security? I always wondered what the protocol for this sort of thing was... Yea Im a hand rail grabber. I dont mean to touch other peoples hands but usually it happens. Apologies!

Who cares? The person that made this thread and the many others who have posted/read it. Yes, its true we are not 'owed' any information at all. Kings Island has a right and they don't have to tell us. It's just thought full to tell the people who go to your park and who are the reason you have a park/job to at least say sorry. (It's what PR does.) Last and not least because you haven't made me a happy person, telling us you're not a fan of Drop Tower isn't the point of this thread. At least my post was. Going back and re-editing your posts when someone comments about something you said.... come'on man! My point being is this: If you want to state "Oh I wish the ride was working" feel free to. If you want to speculate, go for it and expect to get called out. But calling out the PR guy because he is not giving you the information that YOU DO NOT DESERVE. Weak sauce! I missed the title of thread being called Drop Tower, a Discussion of Only Why its Broke. If you would like to continue this discussion, then I would be more than welcome to have a PM discussion with you. Back to discussing all things DT....

It bugs me when people call out other people for doing their jobs. We are not owed any information about when the ride is going to open. Maybe its down, maybe there is no crew, maybe Mason has said no rides with 90 degree drops. Who cares. The ride is not up right now. If that bugs you then, honestly, get over it. For everyone else who gets bugged about what has to be said on here and how it has to be said, get over it. Seriously grow up. No one cares about your complaining and all you do is potentially ruin some of the perks this site has built with KI. There once was a time, where Don answered questions we posted to him. Not because he had to but because he wanted to. If you want to complain and make up stories please go visit kiextreme. Im sure you can get some people to drink your crazy over there... On a more on topic statement. Never been a huge fan of rides like Drop Tower. Something about the heights and just sitting there. I think I may have only ridden the ride less than a handful of times...

Ummm you should never meet people online alone. When going to KIC events that are open you should always inform a parent and if it's your first time bring a friend or parent ... We should all be on the up and up but never ever take that chance.... /rant Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Disney Monorail for sale!
shark6495 replied to shark6495's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Well rising fuel costs could affect it more than anything. Not even guessing how much it costs to run a bus for an hour versus a monorail. But as fuel costs rise, Im sure it will soon tip, if it hasnt already, in the monorails favor. -
Apparently, Line Jumping IS an Accepted Sporting Event at KI Now :)

No don't take my comment as defeatist. It was more a "don't let it ruin your day" type comment Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Cant argue with people, sometimes they will believe what they want....

shark6495 replied to Miythandria's topic in Kings Island
The biggest thing we all need to remember is this, what is worth our time and money and energy? Is it worth getting upset, yelling, and ruining your day because two kids/teenagers/adults jumped the line? Maybe you are yelling to have a little fun, thats fine, but is it really worth getting that upset over? -

shark6495 replied to Miythandria's topic in Kings Island
About 2 years ago, I had a guy yell at my 9 year old nephew because he had to leave the line of Firehawk to run to the bathroom then came back to where we were. We had waited an hour and he had to go to the bathroom. He ran back to the restrooms then returned. A park employee came up to the man yelling at my nephew and explained to him that the kiddo was not line jumping (we actually waited in the same spot and let people pass us till he returned) but had to use the restroom. -

I know Disney's meal plan allows children under 3 (maybe 2) eat off of a parents plate.

shark6495 replied to Miythandria's topic in Kings Island
True about line jumping but in some cases speeding is okay like when I-75's under construction speed limit is 45 MPH! Insane that's like a normal road! Look at I-465, speed limit is 55 at all times, way too slow. Yes the signs read 55 but the flow of traffic (outside of rush hour) is usually closer to 70. Um during construction, the speed limit is 45 so you dont hit and kill (KILL) a construction worker. Plus fees are doubled and possible jail time for speeding in a construction zone are enabled.... Is it considered line jumping if there is no line and on the walk back they have the middle gates open so you can get back in line? (of course if there is no line there) -
Well it is a book targeted towards young readers.... A generation, such as myself, grew up on RL Stine. He was able to write books that were on the edge of horror for the young generation. If I were to go back and read Goosebumps for the first time, I would probably not find them nearly as enjoyable. Then again, maybe I would.

Universal Studios Hollywood Petition
shark6495 replied to BB1's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Well I'm not sure who owns the rights to the characters, but if it's Universal, then there would be almost no problem with rights. GB 3 didn't happen for a multitude of reasons from script to actors to directors, etc. Dan A has come out an said the video game is basically the third movie as it takes it's story from his script for the third movie. If they followed a similar plot of a new recruit fighting ghosts an training. If they do the entire script it includes fighting back from Hell. But it would be an interesting concept as a ride. Some restaurants at Disney have limited menus, from my understanding. Plus Disney charges a bunch more than KI per day.

Documentary concerning Seaworld ("Blackfish")
shark6495 replied to Tanna's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Now I mean I enjoy a good discussion, now and then. I feel I am more than capable of discussing the merits of teachers/education or how media works. I do not feel I know enough, or honestly care enough, to have a useful discussion about weather Zoos or shows are the best for animals. I would knee jerk answer to say that putting any animal in an enclosure can not be good for them. But I am not a biologist. My wife, the biologist, states that in certain situations they are better than dying in the wild and having a species become threatened or extinct. Same with if it helps foster a love of the animal then its a good thing as well. -

Yes. Had a buddy post this on my FB wall a few months back... -
Maybe its the nostalgia (I was born in 85 so my memories of the park in the 90s is seen in a different light) but the original Paramount days made the park feel like Disney. The theming of the different areas may have been lacking or not consistent but it was awesome to walk down International BLVD and see a Borg or a Vulcan, then turn the corner and get a picture with Scooby Doo or Fred Flintstone. The giant cartoon statues that lead into Hannah Barbara Land will always be in my mind. Paramount brought (IMO) a national feel to KI. From standing in line and seeing movie props for Top Gun, The Paramount Store, and Days of Thunder, to seeing the awesome first impression of Outer Limits (The light effect). Even when attempting to build the Crypt it was still a top level attempt. How different would the coaster/park situations be if Viacom had put in as much effort into their park division as Paramount originally wanted to.

Documentary concerning Seaworld ("Blackfish")
shark6495 replied to Tanna's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Dont read the comments section. Many people state their opinions based on information from Blackfish... If these people who are chanting to end Sea World, would put their time/money behind anti-drug or drunk driving initiatives, this world may be a better place. Imagine all the people living life today.... oh sorry. Imagine all of these people working to together to end poverty. Where is our national documentary on the poor and uneducated... -
As in any hobby, a thing is only worth what someone will pay. If it's listed at 5k and sells for 10k then the value is more I have seen many hobby items "valued" at a certain price and sell for less than half that and some for twice tht price Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

End of Epic Roller Coaster
shark6495 replied to shark6495's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
And I think that was my point (or one of them). I think we are at a point where Epic Coasters are not going to be the norm. No more coaster wars of fastest, tallest, etc for the time being. I, too, agree that the era of family coasters is a very welcome sight Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Disney Fastpass+ at Walt Disney World
shark6495 replied to bkroz's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
they are not making you use it. You can still be spur of the moment. They are upgrading their previous system. If you dont want to pre-plan your ride order, then nothing affects you.. -
I know an audio board master and possibly someone on here who could direct a multi-camera feed for a live production.... i mean if you are looking for two capable people, Don..... just throwing that out there
