Wrong person to quote. My Bad! Actually I dont think Auntie Anne's is an option. It does not have a little dining plan logo next to it. Its just listed as a place to eat. The places with the logo next to them are Coconut Cove Coney Skyline Festhause Hank's Burrito International Skyline Juke Box Planet Snoopy Grill Rivertown Pizza Street Pizza Chicken Shack Where did YOU get the price from.... man Im sorry I quoted the wrong person before.
-
When I read this I was trying to think of a place to eat that wasnt franchised. LaRosa's and Skyline would seem like they are but I guess not. That is very true. If you are going to plan on going during the summer a bunch, this could be a great deal. Where did you get the prices at?
-
The Flags plan has a list of places and what you can get. For around that price, I could my family getting this in a few years when our son is a bit bigger and we go to the park more often. Wish they had this when I was 14-17 and had a season pass and would go 2 times per week all summer.

Prayers your way!

Six Flags offers something similar. $75 for all season with 1 lunch and 1 dinner meal per person.. https://www.sixflags.com/greatamerica/store/season-dining-pass They seem like a great deal, but you can always leave meals on the table.

Disney Fastpass+ at Walt Disney World
shark6495 replied to bkroz's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I believe you can either use your tickets or the bands. If you are choosing to use the different disney offers, they are trying to be as easy as possibly by only having you use one thing. -
Well it also depends on what channel you are watching. If you are not watching the locals you will not see as many local commercials. The more national the broadcast, the more national the commercials.

Gold/Platinum Pass Benefits at Kings Island (and other Cedar Fair Parks)

Well to be fair, whenever I go to Wal-Mart and use my tax exempt card for things for my school district, the cashier has no idea what they are doing and claim that the item cannot be tax exempted... -

My question to this whole scenario is why would they try something so aggressive and what would arguably be there biggest resort area. I would have thought it would have been easier to try at one small park/resort area. -
I think that depends on how well or not well The Beach does over the next few seasons. If the Beach becomes a huge hit again and it pulling numbers away from KI, then no way do I see Kings Island charging. If the Beach does fail, then why not. Plus its all about perceived value. When you bought an entrance ticket to the parks you were getting the water park for free. What a great deal, 2 parks for the price of 1! Now that people are no longer in sticker shock (35$ + for a ticket, etc) you can charge more for extras. The park goer may go "Well why do I have to pay so much, I dont use the water park." Well now they can decide if they want to pay for it or not. Imagine the perceived value "Get all of these water rides and extra perks for just $5 more than your normal ticket price"

Gold/Platinum Pass Benefits at Kings Island (and other Cedar Fair Parks)

I really cant tell if JC is just messing with all of us or he is being serious. This wasnt his topic (started by someone else) and the demands are so extreme. I really think he is just playing a game with all of us. -
So holy resurection of a long thought dead thread... But for a reason. Cincinnati Enquirer today posted a little story about the "famous" people who have worked at KI. Didnt think it warranted a new thread so I just will drop it off here. http://www.cincinnati.com/picture-gallery/entertainment/2014/04/14/celebrities-who-worked-at-kings-island/7610777/

Gold/Platinum Pass Benefits at Kings Island (and other Cedar Fair Parks)

Doesnt Gold give you free parking over the regular pass? -
Actually it was a Voice Over. It started with a stand up then cover video was played while he voiced over the video. Take it from me who spent almost 10 years in and around TV/Radio stations. Dont confuse news traveling with extra stories. News traveling would be an article talking about summer destinations and KK is mentioned among others.

Maybe the new marketing campaign will be to get people to travel 9 hours to visit the park. I mean since its being picked up by an AL station located in the middle of no where AL. It like a punch... Exac.....okay, just right now at this moment an advertisement just pop up on my TV set that today was the last day to Get a pass at 59.99 before they go up to 99.95 tomorrow But it is like a punch...exactly two month before the park opens we start seeing discriptive ads everywhere, and I bet this is only a teaser of what is to come... I was suprise to see that the news has made it down to Alabama http://www.wtvy.com/news/morningshow/headlines/Kentucky-Kingdom-Nearly-Ready-to-Reopen-254677951.html Not that surprising. It was a 20 second voice over. No Sound on Tape. Both stations (the AL and the original footage state in KY) are CBS stations. This means they share a news feed channel. WLKY (the Kentucky station) shot the video and wrote the voice over piece. They then uploaded it to the feed channel for any other CBS station that wants to use it. How do I know this? Well the WTVY (AL station) put up a marker showing where they got the footage (WLKY). Soooo probably not so much as a station needing to add some filler. Sorry to burst the bubble there.

Disney Changing Disabled Guest Policy
shark6495 replied to Oldiesmann's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I to am a special education teacher (SLP) working mostly with students in the MD realm and severe autism. A schedule is what works best for these children. Just like you have a visual schedule in your classroom and a what am I working for chart, it sets clear boundaries for the child. I have a tendency to agree with these parents. It should be set up on a per person basis. For a person suffering heat/sun/physical issues this system is great. For children/adults who have difficulty understanding wait or waiting time, etc. then this is a nightmare for all involved. Not saying give immediate gratification to the children/adults with autism, but why couldnt a special pass be created with times written in by the park. For example: Kiddo and his family arrive at park at noon. Kiddo has already created or creates with the park a list of the rides (in which order) he/she wants to go to. The list is taken to a cast member and the cast member sits down and looks over the virtual que for each ride. (yes it would be skewed because it could change, but something is better than nothing). The cast member notes that the child has 5 rides in a certain order. Ride 1 has a 20 minute wait, Ride 2 has an hour, Ride 3 is 45 minutes, Ride 4 is 10 minutes, Ride 5 is 2 hours. Cast member, child/adult, create the following "Disney Schedule" Ride 1: 12:30 Ride 2: 1:30 Ride 3: 2:15 Ride 4: 2:45 Food/Show break of child/adults choice Ride 5: 5pm Now you have a visual schedule for the kiddo. The kid can look forward to which rides etc. You can then go to guest services to create a new schedule or at earlier meeting you created a longer schedule. Just my two cents... -

Let me know how that goes so I can prepare. Knowing that by the time I go, things could change drastically. -

I got that. I guess my post was a little vague. I was thinking (obviously not typing) that if I used all 3 by 11, and had to sign up again, the next one would probably be available at 1. Then I could do a 5th, then a 6th, etc...... But you are right, it is going to be interesting for first timers and those not knowing how to work the system will only be getting 3-4 fast passes per day. Knowing they replenish I would be more willing to register to use fast passes early in the morning for some rides and home to get a new one later in the day. I like the idea of being able to park hop with them now as well. -
Same as it always has been. On one side, yes the reporter should have done more research, but on the other there may be more articles on this reporters docket that are more important or interesting to them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I was going to say it looks like a stand up piece versus an interview... Is he hosting a small video about it? Makes more sense that way.

I actually have no shirts from KI. Dont think I ever did as well. Im the odd ball here, I know and you would probably never be invited back. There are some hills worth dieing on. Is the logo of your shirt really worth fighting?

Cedar Point now does weddings!
shark6495 replied to PhantomTheater's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I'll use my wife's and I's wedding prices and compare this out. Normal wedding: Photographer: $500 Videographer: $500 Church: $200 Flowers: $300 Reception: 100 people at $45 per plate (included DJ and cake, 5 hour rental of room, etc) Total: $6000 (not counting tux rental, wedding bands, dress, etc) Disney Wedding: Bare Min. Only what was "needed" no enhancements (photo albums, etc) Sea Breeze Point, wedding (this is what costs 4500....) Photographer, Videographer Cake/Champagne, Flowers Starts at $6880 (18 guests only) Cedar Point Wedding (going to use my wedding numbers to fill in some gaps) Cedar Point Beach Wedding/Frontier Wedding: 1500/2500 Rights to photograph: 500 Photographer: $500 Videographer: $500 Flowers: $300 Reception: 100 people at $45 per plate (included DJ and cake, 5 hour rental of room, etc) Total: 7800/8800 Sooooo it will cost more than a "typical wedding" but is the experience of being married at Cedar Point worth about a 1500 - 2000 dollar increase in price? Some say the Disney Wedding is worth the larger price, even though you only get to take a limited number of people (for the smaller more affordable ceremony). EDIT Because of Champagne is a hard word to spell -
I can almost 100% guarantee you that the tshirt decision is not being made by tv stations. News programs and the such do not care as long as the shirt is safe to be aired (no profanity). Like has been said, its because KI wants KI apparel in all shots.
