^ The photos work for me, though the content-type is wrong. Those are links from tapatalk.com, so I suspect an issue with that app. Save the files to your computer, and they will work. Depending on your operating system, you might have to change the file extension to .jpeg.

It's way too early to forecast the weather for June 30. Predicted wind speeds and rain chances are no better than wild guesses at this point. If there is no lightning in the area, most rides continue to operate in a moderate rain. A few rides, such as Firehawk and Dodgems, are exceptions. As Hydra said, different rides have different wind speed tolerances. Rides such as WindSeeker and the Eiffel Tower tend to be affected first. Winds are often higher at 300' than at the surface. As always, rides reopen as soon as conditions allow. If they are closed for weather, take a break to eat or to see a show.

^ You are a KIC forum member who registered and posted prior to April 1 of this year. Thus, you're eligible to register for this event. Put "KIC" and your forum name (eg. "KIC 2012Jarrett") into the member number box when you register. You have a season pass, so you only need to pay the event fee. You don't need to pay the extra $33 to add park admission.

^ For the benefit of the procrastinators among us, what time does registration close tomorrow?

^^ Unfortunately for the park, several issues have occurred in a short period of time. The media loves looking for patterns, so local news stations are probably on high alert for anything resembling "news" at Kings Island. As for noise, KI has been open late on summer weekends for a very long time.
-
Exactly my point... Ride reopens today after having electrical issues. Ride has large load on electrical systems within the park, possibly effects outside too not certain, I'm not the service provider. Service Provider immediately comes out and says we're not at fault, and it's something inside. Only can think of a few things..coincidences seem very legit Regardless, hopefully the park comes out and explains the issue, and possible remedies. If not, more press released and hungry news stations will have lots of stories this summer I feel. It's not surprising that the electrical issue is within the park. I understand that transformers, distribution equipment, capacitor banks are located on-site. In some ways, the park is like its own city. I don't know why the park would come out and explain the issue. There was a power outage in limited areas of the park. It was fixed. Rides stayed open late to compensate. That really should be the end of the story. Unfortunately, it probably won't be.

It's very nice indeed to keep the park open late so today's guests can get their rides in. KI's electrical supply is a rather complex system. FOF alone draws a couple megawatts to launch, which has a significant effect on the grid. It will be open until midnight starting next Saturday. This could be considered a preview.

^ Just do it before the deadline! With every event, there are people who miss out because they are too late to sign up. Deadlines generally can't be extended, as a headcount is needed well in advance (meal guarantees, badges, etc).
-
This year, it's select rides in Planet Snoopy and in Action Zone (including Banshee). Kings Island will be hosting the Spirit Song Christian music festival this Thursday through Saturday, so expect heavier-than-usual crowds for June.
-
The registration deadline is this Monday, and it won't be extended. Don't forget: you're eligible to buy a ticket if you are a member of Coaster Crew (or another recognized coaster club) or if you were an active member of KICentral by April 1, 2014. (Or both.) In the "member number" box, put your Coaster Crew member number (if you are a member of that club) or identify your other affiliation (eg. KIC and KIC username).

^ As homestar92 said, it is valid on any 2 days that the park you want to visit is open to the public (through Nov 2). The days do not have to be consecutive. By the way, souvenir cups are available online for $9.99 with or without a season pass.

Dinos After Dark in Dinosaurs Alive @ Kings Island
malem replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
^ Jurassic Park was shown at Soak City's dive-in movies last year. It's a well-known film, and it's up to parents to decide whether or not to take their kids. -
Customer service is actually a priority for many (most?) law enforcement officers, though maintaining safety always comes first. Security can be a stressful job, and they have a lot to deal with on a daily basis. Hopefully the officer or employee involved will communicate more effectively if a situation like this comes up again. It's unfortunate that a guest was upset. "Thank you" and "I'm sorry" are two of the most powerful phrases in the English language. Using them at the right time can make all the difference in the world.
-
^ You're obviously being sarcastic, but it's my understanding that the ride was simply restarted, and no Banshee riders had to walk down. Of course, such an occurrence is not newsworthy in either case, but it's best not to be inaccurate - especially since members of the media read this forum.
-
Good security often involves some unpredictability. They may have a more visible presence some days than others. If it's necessary to increase security on a busy day, it will have been good that various procedures were tried out on an uncrowded Wednesday.
-
It sounds like this could have been handled much better from a customer service perspective. If you match the description of someone that police are looking for, it's very reasonable to stop you long enough to determine whether you are that person. They should be respectful and tell you why they are briefly stopping you. They definitely shouldn’t make you feel "like a criminal". Once they determine that you are not the individual in question, they should thank you for your cooperation. Definitely call them back and let them know why you aren't happy. No guest of the park should be made to feel that way unless actually violating laws or park rules.

Dinos After Dark in Dinosaurs Alive @ Kings Island
malem replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
They just published this, so changes really aren't surprising. Probably just this site acting as visitkingsisland.com's proofreading team, again. Clearly, a tour of Dinosaurs Alive! and a screening of Jurassic Park will take longer than two hours. Presumably, the film will show in Action Theater? -

I wonder how they'll fit a 2-hour film and a 0.6mi walk into those two hours. -
The WindSeeker Wikipedia article listed all the installations as "SBNO" for weeks after they reopened, as there was no secondary source to cite for the change in status. Eventually the inaccurate status was removed completely, since no information is better than bad information.

^ Hats and sunglasses should be secured, along with other loose articles, so that you don't lose them during the ride. An eyeglass strap (available from park gift shops) is a popular way to secure sunglasses. The Louisville Kroger offer is likely valid with the normal admission cards. Printing up a set of cards specific to the free drinks offer would be expensive. Call the park during business hours to ask for details/confirmation: 513-754-5700 You may or may not need Fast Lane on a June Friday. It should be possible to get to all the major rides without it, but having it may improve flexibility if the weather's nice and heavier crowds show up. Wristbands are available for purchase at several locations around the park. (I assume you mean this Friday, June 20. The following Friday will be during Spirit Song, which attracts very heavy crowds.)
-
Welcome! Rides will shut down if there is lightning in the vicinity of the park, though they will reopen as conditions allow. Most rides continue operating in a light rain if there is no lightning. Days with possible thunderstorms can be good days to visit, as they tend to be less crowded. If rides shut down, take a break to eat and/or see a show. Make sure not to miss Cirque Imagine! Many recommend waiting until they get to the park to buy Fast Lane, as it may or may not be needed depending on crowds and how long you are willing to wait for rides. The price at the park could be higher, however; it's always subject to change without notice.

Shirts are allowed on all the attractions, though they might slow you down on the body slides. Keep in mind that a wet t-shirt won't offer much protection from sunburn, so consider a SPF shirt intended for water activities. Welcome to KICentral, by the way!

^^ Replying to your original topic is generally better than starting a new one, in that case. Mondays in July will be less crowded than Saturdays in July. Wait times are difficult to predict. The major hotel brands usually offer their lowest rates at their websites (hilton.com, ihg.com, choicehotels.com, etc). Make sure to enter any rate code you qualify for (AAA, police/military, AARP, etc). Staying under $130 in the Cincinnati area shouldn't usually be a problem, especially with a 30 mile radius. Some hotels may offer ticket packages, but make sure to compare prices to see if it saves you money. It might be cheaper to book your hotel reservation at a discounted rate and buy park tickets separately (eg. Kroger, park's website, AAA store). Note that this was posted in the "Kings Island" forum.
