  1. Giant Boomerangs are actually a lot of fun. I'd highly recommend riding one!
  2. Having to warn and ban people is the worst part of being a moderator. Not getting banned is a good goal to have!
  3. For anyone who has yet to purchase their ticket, this Sunday is the deadline to register online and avoid the procrastination tax! It looks like we'll have quite a large turnout from KIC. Anyone interested in meeting for a group photo, perhaps at dinner on Saturday?
  4. Typically, when parks change ownership, pass terms don't change until the next season.
  5. Six Flags has announced that they have acquired the management rights to Darien Lake (which they used to own) and Frontier City. https://www.streetinsider.com/Corporate+News/Six+Flags+(SIX)+Entered+Purchase+Agreement+with+Affiliates+of+Premier+Parks+to+Acquire+Lease+Rights+to+Operate+Five+Parks+owned+by+EPR+Properties+(EPR)/14225414.html
  6. Yesterday, in line for Vortex, a group of non-enthusiasts overhearing our conversation about the ride asked us about it sinking into the ground. I held back my laughter. A bit disheartening to see that the rumor has spread beyond enthusiasts, but I was glad that I could dispel it for them!
  7. Tapatalk shrinks large images to reduce the file size for mobile devices, so really long screenshots (such as the entire list of wait times) don't display correctly there. These may also be in violation of the copyright on Kings Island's app, as they may not meet the guidelines for fair use. For these reasons, I would advise against posting them. Posting wait times as text or sharing a standard-size screenshot would be perfectly acceptable, and everyone would be able to see them.
  8. ^ Upon arrival, you'll need to follow the exact instructions in your e-mail from the park. The employee entrance and security checkpoint is accessed from Western Row Rd; it's across from the Sunoco station.
  9. Attempting to turn the conversation into a debate about B&M versus other manufacturers is off-topic for this thread, no matter what justification you use to do it. You've been asked to keep it on-topic here.
  10. ^ You'd really like Wicked Cyclone. Steel Vengeance is great for what it is. Building them bigger is what Cedar Point does. For fans of pure intensity, bigger isn't always better.
  11. It's not just Kings Island; it happens to lots of seasonal businesses. Google really should fix it once and for all.
  12. Customcat usually ships in 1-2 business days. If you bought it today, I would guess that you'd receive it by next Wednesday or Thursday.
  13. ^ That coaster could go right next to King James.
  14. Hope you're not trying to make friends with @homestar92 I don't see Gemini leaving any time in the foreseeable future. It's a classic that help put Cedar Point on the map, and it's still a great stepping stone between small coasters and big coasters. It's also a capacity machine, important at a park that packs crowds like Cedar Point can.
  15. @LMHConcepts and I added 100% polyester options to the store. We haven't tested samples of these yet, so let us know how they work out if you order one. Customcat guarantees their products against defects or printing mistakes. Also, if people want to see more shirt colors for sale, Lee is willing to create a few additional artwork colors to match. Just post here or send a PM to him or I with your ideas.
  16. ^ The Everyone Pays Kids Price offer is the same as at Columbus-area Kroger stores, yes. Tickets at Kroger don't come with the convenience of online ordering, which customers (for better or for worse) expect to pay for these days.
  17. I finally rode Steel Vengeance on Friday, and it's an amazing ride that starts out great and only gets better. The ending rivals that of The Beast, twisting through the structure during the second half of the ride for headchoppers galore. It's best experienced at night with the full lighting package. I'm a big fan of the smaller RMC coasters for their raw intensity. Steel Vengeance doesn't quite match the violent ejector airtime on Wicked Cyclone, for instance, but it more than makes up for it with good pacing, abundance of airtime, and sheer variety of elements. It's definitely among my favorite coasters already, despite only having two rides thus far. For those looking to take a last ride at the end of the night, get there early. Lines for major rides are apparently now closing with the park, rather than 8 minutes later as was previously the case. We were held back by a train leaving the Frontiertown station until 10:01pm, causing those of us waiting on the gate to open to miss the final ride.
  18. It's nice to see that the offers online now match what's advertised locally. It is indeed IP based; I only see Everybody Pays Kids Price on the homepage and on the daily tickets page if I'm connecting from a Columbus IP address. The only problem with IP geolocation is that it's not particularly accurate for mobile connections. Indeed, I don't see any regional offers when I load the Kings Island site on my phone.
  19. ^ MP4 video uploads are supported, but InvisionPower doesn't embed direct video uploads automatically. Hopefully this will be fixed in a future update. For now, to get an uploaded video to show up in a player, edit your post and enter Source mode, then manually type in a <video> tag: <video controls src="https://kicentral.com/forums/uploads/path/to/your/video.mp4"></video> I just did this for your video above.
  20. There was an incident at Camden Park today in which an employee was pinned under the Slingshot coaster. The employee was rescued and flown to a local hospital. http://www.wsaz.com/content/news/US-60-shut-down-in-both-directions-in-front-of-Camden-Park-482459721.html
  21. The store is now updated so that the price is inclusive of shipping and all fees. The only thing that's not included is sales tax if it's being shipped to an Ohio address. The shipping discount for ordering multiple items is now passed along in the form of a Multiple Item Discount. Thanks for the feedback, and sorry about any confusion.
  22. I do apologize for the confusion with that fee. We should have better clarified the price, as fees added at checkout are frustrating. We will work on showing exact pricing upfront. We went with CustomCat.com to print and fulfill orders for the shirts. Compared with traditional screenprinting, this let us offer a choice of print color (light & dark) and get everyone's shirt shipped out as they are ordered. The shipping fee charged by them is a flat $4.99 for the first item and $1.50 for each additional item. We were impressed with the quality of the samples from them as well as how quickly they get them printed and shipped out. I'm wearing my sample in Hmrapp's photo above! We'll find an all-synthetic shirt that makes sense and get it added to the store.
  23. We're not fulfilling orders, so we don't control the shipping cost. By passing it on per order, people can save money by ordering multiple shirts in one transaction. Friends and family payments can't be used for the sale of merchandise, so we unfortunately can't use those.
  24. ^ We're not making money off these, but we do need to cover expenses - including the fees charged by PayPal. The ~3% fee was added to all transactions to offset said fees charged to us. EDIT: Though we were trying to be transparent, the fee ended up causing confusion and frustration. Sorry about that. We updated the pricing to be all-inclusive.
  25. Gildan sizes do run a bit smaller than some brands, so we advise ordering a size larger if you're not sure. Here's a sizing specification: https://www.rushordertees.com/G200/
