The parking toll booths open at 8:30. I would assume that they don't want pedestrians entering the main lot from the drop-off area before then. However, 8:45 will be fine. But The Beast doesn't have OTSR's, and it's actually very smooth if you ride on a non-wheel seat. The Beast? Smooth? Yack. Four or five years ago, it threw my buddies back out and ended our day. It consistently beast the tar out of me. I'll give the non-wheeled seat a try.... I still don't see Vortex going anywhere anytime soon. While I'm thinking about beast....has it always had brakes on the first drop? That was 4 or 5 years ago. I think The Beast is running much smoother now. Yes, there has been a lot of retracking work in the past few years. The difference between The Beast in 2010 and The Beast in 2013 is like day and night, if you get my drift.

$6 to $8 for a six-inch sub. Which is a rip-off. (Incidentally, if you really want to go that route, go to the one in Soak City instead. That one has a larger selection of subs and can do hot/toasted subs, which the Coney Mall location cannot.)

For $7 to $8, you're going to have to eat outside the park. There's a number of fast food options up around Exit 25 (first exit north of the park); those will be the closest. I've heard that there are other options a short distance south of the park, but I don't know what's down there. EDIT: You could also pack some food in a cooler and eat at your car. Food may not be brought into the park itself, but it's allowed in the parking lot.

I think you're forgetting one. Duh. Make that five shirts. Fixed above.

Thanks for the report! I've been hit by bird poop exactly once: at Cedar Point, walking through what is now the Luminosity area. Fortunately, I was wearing a poncho at the time and was able to walk over to the small "fountains"/sprayground/whatever you want to call it on the Main Midway and simply rinse it off. NOW you tell me! After I'm already addicted... I have eleven amusement park–related shirts currently. I started this year with six. New this year, in order, are the KIC shirt, two Voyage shirts (the HoliWood Nights event shirt and one out of a gift shop), one Maverick shirt, and this year's Coasting for Kids shirt. EDITed to correct the number and list of new shirts.

Interesting. I did not know that. jcgoble3, in the dark -

You can. I'll be over here behind my computer, alternating between laughing at you and shaking my head. (Unless there's actual evidence of a dark ride coming to CP that I'm not aware of, in which case ignore my second sentence.) -

I've wanted to go parasailing both of the times I've been to CP. However, both times neither the weather nor my budget would cooperate. Grrrr... -

I'm just saying that discussion of HW's future ownership is reasonably appropriate at this time because it's currently in question (in fact, we have a thread for it). The speed of the legal system is irrelevant. -

That's quite possible. My version of the shirt is a large. Having seen him in person, it's possible he wears the same size. I don't know for certain, though. -

LOL. Of those, only F is reasonable to speculate on at this time, given the ongoing legal battle. The question asked in the OP is only slightly less ridiculous at this point in time than the rest on Terpy's list. -

What did you do, take the shirt right off his back? Okay, exactly identical shirt. jcgoble3, who hasn't been Terpied in a while -
This past Monday night, I got out to my car at 10:10 and couldn't even back out of my parking spot until almost 10:40 because of a steady string of cars driving down the aisle behind me.

Great report! Interesting to see the reactions of two first-time visitors. Random note: The Millennium Falcon shirt you're wearing in the photos is the exact same shirt I'm wearing right now. -
I just saw a report from a friend on Facebook that many rides are down due to a power outage. Invertigo riders are stuck on the second lift.

A post so good I liked it four times.

Any water ride manufacturer that have boats that fit the trough, and that don't have a potential sinking issue with said boats. What is this "potential sinking issue"? Someone care to clue me in?

I go alone all the time. One thing I find is that when you're by yourself, it's much easier to strike up a conversation with the party next to you than if you have others in your own party. Another huge benefit is being able to do what you want when you want at your own pace.

Hmm. I don't recall when I might have been in that area (my memory sucks ). I would have been wearing a dark blue fanny pack, snow camo shorts, sandals, and glasses with a blue Cedar Point strap (plus the shirt obviously). Any of that ring a bell?
-
You and I may have been in line for The Beast at the same time. Did you see a KIC shirt in the line? Thanks for the reports!
-
That would have been me in the Festhaus during the latter part of the storm, sitting over by Panda Express. Thanks for the report!

Correction: Previous inverts don't take up a lot of land. In no way does that prevent B&M and Kings Island from designing one that does.
-
Correction: Second Sunday in June. Though it has only been on that date for two years; in 2011 it was in late July. So I would say to plan for June 8, 2014, but allow for the possibility that it may change.

Hank's and Panda Express are the best bang for your buck IMO. The Backyard BBQ is only reasonably priced if you have a Gold or Platinum Pass or a big appetite. The Reds Grille is good with reasonable prices on everything but the ribs ($23 for a full rack). Can't help you with Chick-fil-a; they don't get my money for no other reason than the simple fact that I don't care for their style of chicken.

Yeah, a straight line drawn from the front gate through the center of the fountains and Eiffel Tower toward the back of the park goes off to the southeast, not due east as even I often think when I'm at the park, so points at the back of the park are significantly further south then points at the front of the park. Woodstock Express is all the way up at the front (northwest) of the park, while Racer stretches all the way to the back (southeast). The Racer's station is actually slightly north of that of WE, but we're talking southernmost points, and The Racer has its station at its northernmost end and stretches far beyond WE's small, compact layout.
