  1. Not even close. Tornado at Stricker's Grove is the most southern in Ohio by a thin margin over Teddy Bear. The most southern point of The Beast is three miles north of Tornado's latitude. The Racer is fourth, with the Red Racer's turnaround about 1/4 mile north of The Beast's southermost point. Woodstock Express is fifth, another quarter mile north of that. (All distances quoted have a 10% margin of error.)

Yes, they do. Just hunted around on the Twitter website and found it.
  3. Then exactly what interstate commerce is it being use in right now? I'm sure not seeing any.

None of those options work with my current dumbphone, so I'm probably out of luck for my visit tomorrow. Maybe by my next visit on the 15th I'll have a smartphone and be able to do this.
  5. But will they retain it? Perhaps it's "in use" right now internally as a working title, but they intend to pick (or have picked) a different name to be the actual name of the ride, and the Banshee trademark will be dropped after the announcement when it ceases to be in use. In other words, it may just be an elaborate diversion.
  6. Excellent report, and welcome to KICentral! Sounds like you had a wonderful first visit. I hope there are many more to come! I wish I had parents who loved coasters as much as me. My dad won't ride anything; in fact, he refuses to go at all unless they offer a new, far cheaper admission option for non-riders (he became eligible for the senior price three days ago, but that's not enough of a discount for him), and that's highly unlikely to happen. My mom will go with me occasionally if I can get her in at a discount (we're going on July 15 using the coupon I got when FUN Perks was discontinued) and will ride some of the tamer rides like BLSC, The Racer, or small flats, but won't touch the bigger rides. Combine that with not having any siblings, and it makes for a lot of solo trips to the park (which I'm fine with).
  7. *bump* Today, an anonymous user posted on the WindSeeker article here that all of the WindSeekers are SBNO. Someone else has reverted the edit for now, but can someone confirm or refute this claim? Even if you don't have a reliable source, it would be helpful to know whether this edit is just lacking a source or outright false.
  8. If you ask me, you're not missing anything.
  9. Next time, ride in the second-to-the-last row, not the very last row. The very last row sits directly over a wheel, so it is much rougher. The second-to-last row (and any row that is in the middle of an individual car) sits between the wheels and therefore is much smoother. And trust me, it is a HUGE difference.
  10. I'd like to see a camouflage coaster.
  11. On a different subject, I'm confused. Can someone please explain to me exactly how it is possible for someone to make a loan to themselves (if that is indeed what the $10 million loan is) and what the purpose of that is? I don't get it.
  12. YOLO That word/acronym/whatever annoys me to no end, mainly because I find it utterly stupid. But that's just me.
  13. I typically bake two dozen at a time in the evening and finish off the whole batch before going to bed.
  14. Phenomenal is bad. I'll just do Mysteria sense it is terrible... Though I really do want to revisit my bat demon friend... Would you do Cavern of Terror if we bribe you? Seriously, though, sometimes you need to step outside your comfort zone and test your limits. Once you do Cavern of Terror, you'll know you can do any other maze. It's analogous to walking into the park during the summer, having never visited an amusement park or ridden an amusement ride of any kind before, and going straight to Diamondback, knowing that you'll be scared to death on it the first time around but also knowing that if you can survive that one, you'll be fine on everything else in the park and be able to enjoy your day better. I strongly encourage you to give Cavern of Terror a shot. It's well worth the time. If nothing else, you'll be able to have fun scaring your friends with tales about it the next week at school.
  15. I'd guess that it would be no more than a typical Monday. KI is a two-day park at most, so it's highly unlikely people will take the whole week off to spend it at KI. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday will be the busiest days, with Wednesday significantly busier than a normal Wednesday due to the military deal. Monday and Tuesday are unlikely to be significantly affected. Or at least that's my guess.
  16. Big Sexy's profile lists him as a member of the group "Members", which means that he has not been banned (if he had been banned, the "Group" field would instead say "Banned").
  17. I predict that Kentucky Kingdom will reopen on May 24, 2014. It will then fail by the end of the season, and close permanently before the start of the 2015 season. By 2020, everything will have been torn down and the land will have been put to some other use. I don't have a crystal ball or anything; that's just a wild guess.
  18. Google Translate confirms that that is Latin and translates it as such:
  19. The "lack of love" for it is probably the fact that laterals are not as popular as airtime, the latter of which Raven and Voyage produce plenty of. For proof, see Mitch Hawker's coaster polls. The 2006 polls (the most recent year for which ride forces rankings have been posted) clearly show that; the steel poll shows that laterals ranked at the bottom of the list (6th of 6), while in the wood poll, they ranked 5th of 6, beating only loops (which should give you an indication of the popularity of a certain recently demolished coaster, which still had it's loop at the time). Also, both forms of airtime (ejector and floater) topped both polls. So that would explain the "lack of love" for the Legend (as well as why it's my personal least favorite of the three woodies at HW).
  20. No, us regular users do not see those replies or flags. That seems to be visible only to admins/mods (probably so that one admin doesn't waste time reviewing posts that another admin has already looked at. Regular users hit the report button, type in their message, hit send, and never see any response.
  21. The story in question: http://www.whas11.com/news/local/Kentucky-Kingdom-devolopers-secure-financing-to-reopen-park-213005631.html
  22. Thanks for the report. Ask the park... in 2014.
  23. Take a look at this image: How many corkscrews is that? The obvious answer is "one", because each of the four and one-half 360° turns is attached to the next, and you can only open one wine bottle at a time with it. So why would a roller coaster corkscrew be defined any other way? Vortex has one corkscrew that makes two 360° turns. It's most certainly not two corkscrews, because if it is, then the image above shows four and a half corkscrews, meaning that you could use the tool depicted to open four wine bottles simultaneously, and that's preposterous.
