  1. I'm just amazed that they actually used KI's own rides in the commercial for once.
  2. They are not taking a while to announce it . Diamondback wasn't announced until August 6th 2008 (somewhere around there) and WindSeeker wasn't announced until September. I think it would be early to announce it soon. We will probably have a good idea what it is before they announce it anyway. I'm pretty sure I've said this previously in this thread: WindSeeker was announced on August 24, NOT in September. You are probably thinking of Soak City the following year, which was announced in September.

The point is that HW used the name without issues for quite a while. So KI shouldn't have any issues if they choose to use it.

^ Because the coaster is supposed to scare people? I like the name. If HW can use it without a problem, so can KI.
  5. I'll grab an Auntie Anne's pepperoni pretzel. Fact: This post is full of win.
  6. "The Fun and Only" was a recent one.
  7. ^Why do I not believe this? Let me count the reasons....
  8. But wouldnt you think that they would would have to know the layout in order to poor in the footers Management probably just tells them "pour a footer here, then pour a footer there". I highly doubt they know anything about how those footers will be utilized. They just pour them where they're told to pour them.
  9. Since it's not worth starting a new thread and others are posting that they have some as well, I'll add this. I collect maps in the same way that the OP does, and am missing both 2010 and 2011 KI maps. Does anyone have both that they could send me? Obviously free would be best, but I'm willing to pay a small amount for them if needed. Let me know if you have both.
  10. Where did you see that quote? https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151971825053368&set=a.226729858367.174830.155893938367&type=1
  11. I still don't consider soft serve to be true ice cream. The only true ice cream IMO at KI is Graeter's. That doesn't mean I won't eat soft serve, but given a choice I do prefer the real thing.
  12. The park offers life jackets free-of-charge. At many attractions, including the wave pool, they are required for non-swimmers. No matter how tall they are. You really should learn to swim, even if you don't plan on swimming. It could save your life, and it would allow you to participate at Soak City without either wearing a life jacket or breaking a safety rule. 1. Perhaps the non-swimmer isn't comfortable in the deep end at all, even with a life jacket. They want to have the reassurance of being able to touch the bottom of the pool. 2. Perhaps the non-swimmer is too young to have reasonably learned how to swim with confidence yet. These movies are supposed to be "family-friendly", after all. The deep-end-only policy certainly isn't. Depending on how young the kid is, #1 could easily apply here as well. 3. Perhaps the non-swimmer is actually physically incapable of swimming. I, for example, cannot float properly unassisted due to having extremely dense bones. Swimming lessons don't help; I simply am incapable of floating high enough in the water to get my mouth above the surface, unless I am wearing a life jacket. Funny thing about bone density, if I didn't see the sink phenomena for myself, I would have laughed it off, but my husband cannot float to literally save his life. When he told me he couldn't swim, (I spent summers on Cumberland Lake in Kentucky, and a lot of that time on a houseboat), I honestly couldn't believe him, but he sinks. I'd never met someone who could not swim before. We go boating, fishing, etc., but have life jackets and ski belts around the same as an asthmatic would have their puffer. Sounds like your husband has an even worse problem than I do. I'm capable of floating unassisted, just not high enough to be able to breathe. I've never heard of someone whose bones are so dense that they literally sink, but I can believe it.
  13. Hey Wikipedia now says 14 coaster you happy now. I'll let those two edits stand since I don't care enough to revert (undo) them, but they're likely to be reverted when GoneIn60 finds them. If that happens, I would advise against engaging in what is called "edit-warring" (reverting back and forth), which will only succeed in getting you blocked. Instead, click the "Talk" tab at the top of the page and start a thread on the talk page to discuss the change and try to reach a rough consensus.
  14. I'd think that with less buoyancy, water skills would be even more helpful. I know how to do a front crawl, backstroke (regular and elementary), and horizontal floating (both face up and face down). I could probably tread water in a pinch. But without a life jacket, all of these skills are virtually useless because it is physically impossible for me to BREATHE while doing any of these. I paid triple figures for private swimming lessons a few years ago, and the instructor came to the conclusion that my technique is not the problem. There's literally nothing I can do except wait until I get older and begin to lose bone density. In the meantime, I have to wear a life jacket in water more than about four to five feet deep.

  16. Original story from WHIO, updated: http://www.whiotv.com/news/news/local/wing-walkers-plane-crashes-at-dayton-air-show/nYSBY/ Sadly, both the pilot and the wing walker have died.
  17. And it's Fast Lane, not Express Pass. Names for this kind of thing are not universal. jcgoble3, annoyed when people get names mixed up
  18. And what about people like me who can't swim, meaning that we can't go out into the deep end and have to stay in shallow water? Using only the deep end completely excludes us. That's just stupid.
  19. Well that confirms where the station is going. Has anyone noticed that or is that old news and I missed it? Look at post #4065. The blueprint is fake.
  20. I'd laugh, but it's true. The ride is so short and has so much speed when it hits the brakes that it could go on for quite a bit longer. That's the only thing I don't like about it. Otherwise, it's one of the best coasters at KI. I need to ride it more often.
  21. ^ That works. As you suggested, it didn't like the slash at the end.
  22. That just redirects to the home page of the website for me.
  23. I do have a hobby: a sports-based Star Wars roleplaying game. http://boards.theforce.net/threads/elite-league-limmie-a-sports-based-rpg-new-players-welcome.30964330/ (New players always welcome! ) And now y'all think I'm a dork. I prefer "geek" or "nerd", but "dork" works just fine also.
