^Why does the person waiting in the next row have a bag? I thought bags weren't allowed in line for Firehawk.

Er... what? The stubbornness of some people will never cease to amaze me.

I've gotten my TracFone that runs on AT&T to work with similar systems with no problem. I send texts to my email all the time, and they show as coming from mynumber@txt.att.net. I just sent a test message the other way from my email to my phone and it went through with no problem.

Most likely, there's no free web/email<->SMS gateway for tracfone, meaning there's no way to get messages to your phone without paying for the privilege. Since the service used for this text messaging group is free, it simply doesn't work for that provider. This service hasn't been used in awhile, so you're not currently missing anything. TracFone is never listed as a supported carrier on anything like this because TracFone does not have its own network; rather, it piggybacks on the major carriers' networks. Therefore, if you have TracFone, you need to select the carrier whose network your phone runs on. If your phone is a GSM phone, try AT&T first, then T-Mobile if that doesn't work. If it's a CDMA model, try Verizon, then Sprint. If you're not sure which it is, just try each of those four until it works.

You didn't say that the fountains had to be operational or how high you had to look down on them from. (Taken from the International Restaurant at the GOCC Holiday Party on 12/10/2011.) Hard: White Water Canyon turntable in action Easy: Diamondback's first drop w/ train

I didn't get anything. -
1. This thread had been dead for a month and a half. Threads that old generally shouldn't be bumped unless you are contributing something new, such as a recent development in the story. 2. Could you please at least TRY to make an effort at proofreading your posts? I really shouldn't have to point out to someone who's already made nearly 200 posts that not only do the Terms of Service require that you do so (indeed, it's the very first thing in the TOS), but it's a basic courtesy to your fellow posters to not force us to rack our brains in a futile attempt to decipher your posts.

LOL! I love it! I demand more or else you'll be walking the plank!

KI Closing Day Videos and such (And the 1,000th post)
jcgoble3 replied to ohiocolts's topic in Trip Reports
Basically, they saw my post on KIC earlier in the month about a glitch giving me an extra drink wristband and didn't like me taking advantage of that. They voided my pass when they saw it, and when I arrived at the park, I had to pay to park and go to guest services, where security had a little talk with me. They then reactivated my pass and refunded the parking fee. Lesson learned: don't take advantage of glitches, and don't post about it in public if you do (I got the impression that they were more annoyed that I posted about it than that I did it in the first place). Nice report! -
94.5 already? You're as bad as my mother. Constant Christmas music is too jolly and peppy for me. At least 99.1 doesn't start on Christmas music until Thanksgiving and doesn't go to 100% Christmas music until Christmas Eve.

And what city are those stations based out of? Dayton stations are not Cincinnati stations, which are not Indianapolis stations, which are not Louisville stations, which are... you get the point. It would also be helpful to indicate what type of music each one plays for those of us not from your area. I listen to 99.1 FM in Dayton, a popular country music station. Other than that, I don't change stations unless I'm traveling or unless I'm tuning in to the Bengals game on 700 AM.

LOL! Airtime is listed as "negative Gs". (EDIT: Terpy beat me to that.) For me it's overall intensity. I don't really have a preference for any particular type of physical forces (though I'm not a big fan of laterals). Rather, the "force" I'm after is being forced to focus on nothing but the ride by the sheer intensity of it. If I can think about other stuff while I'm riding, then it's not intense enough to make the top section of my list.

Actually, yeah. And maybe some background music. Music? Anybody know what kind of music was popular 65 million years ago?
-
OK, um, you mind telling us those stories? I'm interested to hear them.

And I make 14.

Which ride would you ride again if you could? TRTR/SOB
jcgoble3 replied to Captain Nemo's topic in KI Polls
I picked Son of Beast simply because I never got the chance to ride it in any form. I did get the chance to ride the Crypt's final two-flip cycle a few times in 2010 and 2011, so I'm not completely without rides on the Giant Top Spin like I am on SOB. And the Crypt, in its final form, was OK to me (keeping in mind that I never saw it in any other form); it served as a nice, air-conditioned break from the bigger rides. -
How Many Visits Did You Make to Kings Island in 2012?
jcgoble3 replied to BoddaH1994's topic in KI Polls
11 this year. I'm beginning to get bored with KI, so next year I may trade a few KI visits for an extra trip to CP and/or HW instead. -
Never been to college and nearly failed 12th grade English class, actually. Why do you ask?

^On the August KIC Day, a Saturday, I saw ten cars on the track and an empty pit lane the one time I looked at it. So it would seem that it got plenty of business on Saturdays.

"spelling and lack of grammar is..."? With context: "the way this person's spelling and lack of grammar is" The bolded part is a single noun phrase, which could be replaced with simply "it". It's the same idea as saying "The way gas prices are [right now], I'm not going to be doing much driving until they come down a bit." So it's a perfectly legitimate construct, although "are" might be more appropriate in KI-ORG-EMP's sentence.

Just. Drop. It. Please.

While it may be jumbled, I get what you are saying, but isnt Flight of Fear and Firehawk in X-base? Different than Coney Mall. X-Base is technically part of Coney Mall, not its own area.

Nobody ever said there had to be one.
