Personal Belongings On Roller Coasters at KI
Snowman replied to KILateNighter's topic in Kings Island
One of my favorite things about DB's seats is if you have cargo pants with secure side pockets, you can slide your items up to either of your hips and there's a big enough gap between the side and bottom of the seat for your items to fit perfectly. If you pack too heavy for that idea, they have these boxes with really LOUD lids that you can leave your stuff in while you ride. -
Windseeker & Coney Mall Construction Continues
Snowman replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
Raindrops. A TV station I used to work at had live cams that were in an enclosed housing that actually had little remote controlled windshield wipers on the glass in front of the lens. Sure beat climbing up there with a cloth! I haven't seen what camera KI uses. It should be ok when it dries. -
Funny..... Excellent movie reference! Julie Andrews warped my fragile little brain.

I've heard a little about this "WindSeeker" thing, but what's SOB???
-
Thanks for sharing the video Delirium13. You brought up a question I always wanted to ask the old school KI'ers: Which coaster has/had better side to side swinging action, Flight Deck or Bat?

Transcript of the conversation right before the picture was taken: Web Guy, " Hey Don, can I get a shot of you looking at the park map" Don, "Sure" Web Guy, (Click) "Thanks" Don, "No problem" Web Guy, " You know you shouldn't put your cup of free park water by your computer. Also the 80's called.....they want their phone back!" Don, "Get out of my office!"

Does anyone have any idea why Crypt was closed during Haunt? I mean if there is a ride that fits the Haunt theme, it would have to be the Crypt. If you were planning to reply "Because it sucks".....I beat ya to it!
-
Very Cool! You got some serious Photoshop skills! Wouldn't it be great if the tunnel were still there. Great place to take a break, and a way to get to DB faster.
-
^I agree completely! If you can't use a map to accurately navigate the best paths to get to a ride... What's the point of a map?
-
The tunnel side by side shots are great, thanks TOPGUN1993. It's funny that the tunnel dead ends into a wooden fence. Usually a tunnel refers to an object with 2 openings... not an opening and a fence! Did they rename it "The Shady Cave"? CoastersRZ, Im glad I'm not the only one who noticed the arch. Weird how little details like that stand out. This is the bestest thread ever!!!

I bet he's making one of those fold-ins like in the back cover of MAD magazine. Regularly it looks like a KI park map, but if you fold it in, the loop on Invertigo Goes over SOB!! Problem solved, SOB can reopen now.

Old Paramount (Viacom) vs. Cedar Fair Managments at KI
Snowman replied to KILateNighter's topic in Kings Island History
I believe if you're passionate enough about something and put enough energy in it, change can happen and "It is what it is" is not true. Example: If you complain to McDonalds that their menu choices aren't enough to keep you coming back year after year, change just might happen: Introducing the McLobster!!! http://www.youtube.c...player_embedded -
Is the Whip kid ride they're on the same one that's still there today? I would have loved to ride the Sky Ride.
-
Welcome to KIC!!! Wow, you are really passionate about the Crypt! I bet you have great ideas, call: (513) 754 5700 (push 0 for a human) that's their customer service line. They should be able to get your message into the right hands. While your on the phone, please ask them to also consider opening Beast and DB for ERT as often as possible. Thanks. Good Luck!!

Old Paramount (Viacom) vs. Cedar Fair Managments at KI

Frankly I don't think a "liver" atmosphere would be very enjoyable I love funny tiepolls. I agree with you completely. At Busch Gardens Europe, they have a great drum corp, magicians, crooners, wild bird displays, and other performers all over the park. It really adds alot to the vibe of the park and would be a great and inexpensive addition to KI. -
^ It was meant as a joke (as many of my posts are) and not aimed at anyone personally. 6 posts, 5 insults...... well done. Stay Classy!!!!
-
Gee "Mr America" have all 5 of your posts been personal attacks? Haven't you been called out in other threads requesting to not make posts personal? I have been a fan of this site for nearly a year and have seen many intense, informative, and entertaining posts and great converstaions by many people, but you seem to be one of the very few that feels a need to make personally insulting comments in replies to other peoples posts. Very creative wordsmithing!

CP opens May 14th, that's only 2 weeks after KI. If I remember right the cement was already poured and curing two weeks ago. Maybe KI is farther along because they're relying so heavily on it to be the cornerstone of the park's ERT!! Whoops....... too soon?
-
From Cedar Point: They seem to be WAY behind KI.
-
Very interesting, thanks for the info. Do you have any idea why they wouldn't do them all at once?
-
Please tell me you are joking... Yeah he's joking...everyone knows the orange ones are faster. (He's just trying to get a rise out of some people!) Nu...uhh... The black seats are faster 'cause they don't have all that gunk to slow them down!!! I really didn't think I needed to add a smiley emotocon, thanks for the defense. Rotag, of course I sit in my assigned seat. I'm just bummed when I get an orange one. Unless there's a protein spill, which really blows after a long wait in line.
-
Does any of the "in the know" insiders that post here have any idea if the park has, or plans to replace the old orange/red head cushions on Delirium? Whenever my wife and I were in the load que with our assigned number, we'd watch as the ride came to a stop hoping our seats had the newer black head rests instead of the dirty, stained orange ones. I'm sure the black ones are in the exact same shape, it's just a mental thing. You know, out of sight, out of mind. Plus, I'm thinking the black seats go faster than the orange ones!

STAPLES!!! Just look for a midget in wrestling tights running around the park with a staple gun, (not my joke, the park will be promoting this during the Haunt) and ask him to help you out. -
A FREE photo op!!!! Have you gone MAD??? I've actually seen people pull out their phones at the photo sales booths and take a picture of themselves in the monitor.
