  1. What's funny is above the webcams is text that says, "Check out the progress of the new WindSeeker as it's being built!" Could make for a twilight zone moment for a new visitor to the page.
  2. Just saw this thread and got very excited to share. Libertyland was my home park growing up in Memphis. Pippin was my first coaster. So glad it is being saved. A lot of times Elvis would rent the park out the night before and you could ask the ride op where he sat, and they'd point to his favorite seats. It was so cool as a kid to ride where Elvis sat just a few hours earlier. As I remember, he was quite the coaster junky. I think he prefered Zippin Pippin to the Revolution. Probably because they were at different ends of the park and a long walk, not the king's favorite activity. He would have loved last years DB ERT's when you could just stay in your seat and marathon a great coaster without having to rent the whole park! I worked with George Klien a few times and I vaguely remember him saying it would cost Elvis only a few thousand dollars to rent the whole park and pay staff for the whole night. George told us Elvis would sometimes get the ride ops to briefly stop the train at the top of the lift hill and he'd get out, (just seatbelts in the cars) The train would return to the station and everyone on the train would act like Elvis fell out sending everyone not in on the joke into a complete panic. After a few minutes he'd walk back down the lift hill to the station. Funny Guy! He also really liked the bumper cars. He insisted "guys only" though. For going back down my memory lane..... Thanka.....Thanka Verrr much!
  3. Went into the $10 or less store in coney mall and bottled water was $4. Go around the corner and get ice water for free. Gotta say I was stunned. Maybe it was water that trickled down from The Beast's loading station. Respect to Topgun1993 1/2 photo: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=23316&st=795
  4. We renewed Gold passes at haunt last year. After reading about peoples' problems, I called the park last week to confirm my renewal was recognized. I just gave them my name and address and they confirmed my renewal over the phone(513 754 5700). Went yesterday, they worked fine. Still trying to figure out how to use them to make lines shorter!
  5. Speaking of Taters, did the price of Rivertown's french fried spuds go up? I don't remember them being over 6 dollars last year. I think I saw $6.29 on the sign. Gotta say they're proud of those fries.
  6. A thread about dealing with line jumping: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=23542&st=0&p=421073&hl=+line%20+jumping&fromsearch=1entry421073 Starting a debate with someone who doesn't take sides will be very interesting to watch, good luck Selective.
  7. I would never question your knowledge of Crypt, I just remember it doing more last year but I could be wrong. Haha! Well I would certainly not call myself an expert by any means! Last year, the ride began by ascending towards the back of the room, went around a time and a half, then locked into place at the top of the second arc and fell forward, doing a slow, locked inversion. Then it reversed and did the same backwards, flipping riders headfirst towards the lava in another slow, locked inversion. So it inverted twice. There were no free flips through where the gondola goes nuts. That hasn't happened since the beginning of 2009. Your detailed description and my wife's memory is in agreement. So I type corrected, same as last year... still boring!
  8. I would never question your knowledge of Crypt, I just remember it doing more last year, but I could be wrong. Edit: My wife thinks it's the same as last year. I defer to riders who paid more attention! I did like the Que alot better. It's actually well lit and themed.
  9. Crypt Que is definately improved but, won't give anything away, Sorry GYK.... The actual ride cycle is changed and seems tamer than last year. There were no "flips", just large inverted circles. We went early on so maybe it will change as it warms up. The lines were crazy long!!! Gold pass lot was full at Noon. Scroll on the sign outside detectors said "Rides closed today, Vortex, WindSeeker, Action Theater"

  11. Really..... who wears less make up, or less revealing clothes, or has bigger record sales? I'm not defending the odd little Ga. But parallels can be drawn, especially if she opens a park.
  12. Wow, very cool screen grabs!! I can't get the second webcam to show up on my laptop. OMG... A double rainbow......it's sooo beautiful.....what does it mean?????
  13. What's the difference between this and a certain theme park in the mountains of East Tennessee? Just sayin'
  14. Or even the one in the woods. Probably "Songebob Scratchy Film Pants"(sometimes in 3D) though. I love how it seems the scratches are coming right off the screen at you!
  15. No way! great landscaping adds alot to the look of a park. Then again, I'm probably considered by many here, old enough to fart dust.
  16. Amazing photos thanks again. I'm confused though, is tomorrow's day count zero?
  17. Sooo I wonder if they'll open something else for ERT...... Betcha can't quess what my vote would be!
  18. Where did you get a pass for $60? Cheapest I've seen was $69.99 at Haunt.
  19. The one day gate price is $51.99. The buy one day, get two is an online special. The webpage is confusing...and is going to cause problems. But, but, but... what if I just want to go the second day, how much is that???
  20. For season passholders, this definitely the truth. It pays for itself in a few visits, there's no parking fee per visit, and there's perks on top of it. However, I don't see how 51.99 for one visit is getting your money's worth at all, especially considering that you have to pay 12 dollar parking on top of it. We're enthusiast on here, and most of us have a season pass. However, the average family looking for something to do on Saturday may just look at the advertised price of $51.99 and say "No thanks, we'll take the kids to the park and the movies." Let's not forget 5 more bucks a head if you want to see some old school reptiles!
  21. ^I wonder if they've done any work on the parking lot since those pics were taken?
  22. Don't chya wish you could completely redact anything you say or write, like Jon Kyle did to the Congressional record this past week? (if you don't know about the reference, google it) Too bad our Government doesn't have a "reply" button!
  23. I was in Kohl's today in West Chester and found a pair of Sonoma cargo pants with a Zipper on the right side pocket. $21.99 today, who knows tomorrow, regularly $40. Got a pair, and I suggest go quickly because I haven't seen zippered cargo pockets anywhere else. Good Luck
  24. There isn't. It's just that some people love to nit pick every thing to death rather than just answer. Very well put. Thank You GEEZ I hope someone opens some thrill rides around here SOON!!! The enthusiasts are obviously very restless.
  25. ^ I'm not the one assuming, I'm simply reading other posts. I'm posing a question because other posters have considered DA will become the new ToT. Here it is again: Would you pay extra to go through a Haunt Maze involving DA? I ASSUMED this question wouldn't be so complicated!
