  1. Given how loosely they played with perspective, you'd think they'd have bent Flight Deck around closer to Adventure Express. You know to cover up that big empty space behind the go-karts!
  2. Sooooo..... extremely short, untalented, tattooed, over the hill, basketball playing midgets? Haunt 2011.... Be There!!!! Boo.
  3. Would that mean that the weight of the passengers on the ride was zero'ed out? I LOVE funny typo's!
  4. Soooo... It's YOUR fault!!!! Your post was funny. While your at it, why not build a big pile of lincoln logs behind the go karts and then pretend it doesn't exist?
  5. Hopefully in October? Weekend evening/nights? Plans to run promotions for 2012 gold passes they don't intend to follow through with? I guess we'll see. BTW: My Avatar is a pumpkin from Haunt 2010. It stayed fresh inside all winter and didn't start to turn until Feb. Kinda weird. Boo.
  6. Wow, you said something I agree with And I completely agree with Raptorguy about the DB/ Beast ERT! Maybe we all can get along. I agree with raptorguy on db/beast ERT too, but I don't think threatening to boycott the park is a rational course of action. And Skyline is better. I only agree with Raptorguy about ERT. If he wants to boycott the park, I really don't think KI will be too devastated, and it's 1 less person in line in front of me! Your right, Skyline is much better. I just wish they'd stop charging so much more for those little doggies in the park than they do everywhere else.

  8. Raptorguy, there are games called "Roller coaster Tycoon" and "Thrillville", they're available on many platforms, you really should look into them. Although the funny part is, if you played the games using the strategy you posted above, you'd lose! Regarding your stream of consciousness above, I've never understood people who believe that what's spinning around in their heads is always better than what currently exists. If I remember right, you wrote a post about Haunt last year that said basically you were really mad that it wasn't more tailored to your personal preferences. Do you go into Skyline and rant about how they need to change their chili recipe? Should Jungle Jim's change their layout and decorations? Dude, Lay back and enjoy the show. It's alot more fun!
  9. It only gets weird when you think the animals know your name! We started going to the Cincinnati Zoo last year and I believe it's one of the best cared for zoos in the country. Their Holiday light show is AMAZING! Now they have a way to power it. Membership is worth every penny.
  10. Shoot, I was trying to start some wild rumor or conspiracy to pass the time for the next 4 weeks. Oh well.
  11. An observation: I went to KI's site and went to the park map link: http://www.visitkingsisland.com/public/park/map/index.cfm It states that it's a 2010 map but if you touch where WindSeeker is going to be, there's a pin. Interesting....
  12. Very true. I am completely uneducated about Kings, King's, Kings', Island story. I always welcome the chance to learn something new. Like is the spinning bar stool they're going to put at the top of the WindSeeker, WindSeeker's, WindSeekers' tower going to be known as the employee stool, employee's stool, or employees' stool?
  13. Thanks to Deririum13 and GYK for the grammatical cover, much appreciated. While we're off on extreme tangents (given the initial silliness of this thread) ponder this: "Kings Island" is implied ownership of either 1 "King" or many "Kings", there should be a singular possessive apostraphe (King's) or plural possessive (Kings') in the name. So the photo Delirium13 was kind to attach is grammatically correct.
  14. Fun Fact: King's Island has decided to leave the assembly crane intact and for an upcharge of 5 to 20 dollars, take visitors up above the WindSeeker ride and allow them to get a birds eye view of their newest thrill ride!
  15. Ja Guru Deva Om...... calm down, geez the park opens in 4 weeks and six days. Perhaps they'll let everyone who got so mad about not getting a giga coaster volunteer to take a shift up at the top of this monster. No one has explained why on earth KI would even need anyone at the top, 'cause one way or another everyone's going to come back down.
  16. I don't see this structure ever becomming useless. Promoting alternative energy in any way, and trying support ways to get off foreign oil (I know foreign oil isn't directly used in the zoo, except for the gas golf carts and trains) is always a good thing. Deflecting the sun from the black asphalt will make a world of difference to Zoo guests. If those shingles become significantly more effective, why couldn't they just add them to the exhisting structure? It seems like a very positive step forward to me.
  17. I went to the zoo today and was floored by the scale of this, the main parking lot is completely covered, it's a MUST see. There was a sign that said something about it was the largest public project in the country. Sorry I didn't have a camera to get a shot of the sign. Instead of a coaster, if they installed solar panels over the parking lot and installed energy retrievals devices on the coaster brakes ( feel free to correct me on the exact term for collecting the energy from the coaster brakes concept), Ki might be able to seriously reduce it's carbon footprint. Maybe lower food prices?
  18. Thanks for the technical adult supervision. I'll try to post the UFO Dinosaur Half Pint Brawler trespassers next time. Thanks again.
  19. From an old camera guy: The sensitivity of camera's iris give the illusion of the brakelights being on. If you look at how bright the building is, that is another "hot spot" in the frame, like the brake lights. the camera lens tries to average the exposure of most of the frame. So you have parts of the picture over exposed and parts under exposed. Regarding the spotlight being on, if you look at the orange cone in front of the cruiser, it is only throwing 2 shadows= 2 headlights. if the spotlight was on, there would be 3 shadows. Like the "moon" photos, shadows can be very telling. As far as the identity of the figure, I bet it's just someone who wanted to get in line for a "first rider" tshirt.
  20. Anyone have any ideas what the 2 lights in the woods are? Here's another education I could use, how far back is KI's property? Edit: I clearly have no clue how to get a single screen capture of the webcam. When I posted this there were 2 lights out in the woods at the time. If anyone can easily explain how to get a still from the webcam I'd appreciate it. And no my VCR doesn't flash 12:00!...... What's a VCR?...... Geez I'm gettin' old!
  21. Maybe they'll open SOB as a historical or educational walkthrough attraction, with a 5 dollar upcharge!
  22. But the scratches and lines on the film jump right out at you!
  23. Excellent posts and thanks for reiterating my point Terp. I'm the victim....dammit!!!
  24. ^ I agree completely with everything on your list gigacoaster2k. May I add to your wish list. When you ride the train in Cedar Point the western town with the skeletons is absolutely amazing! When you ride KI's train, all you see is empty remnents of what looks like a really cool themed train ride. Would it really be too expensive to prop up a few animatronics? Maybe even grab a few props that are scattered around the park during Haunt. Heck, put a Dinosaur out there! It's such a great train ride and path, it just seems so neglected.
  25. Agreed. My point was the first reports were that the crash was due to "mechanical failure", then an admitted pencil whipped non-inspection/inspection. Even if a thorough inspection had been made, it wouldn't have revealed that a moron would be driving it. I am no expert on these trains, but I would guess they have to give some control to the operators so they can compensate for the weight load for each ride. There has to be a load weight limit, but if the train is under that limit, how would you restrict the speed on each ride? Some responsibility has to fall to the operators. I believe the final verdict will be to not hire morons that try to turn a miniature train into a thrill ride!
