The picture clearly depicts a Banshee train at the peak of the Immelman. You are sneaking a view of the peak of the coaster.

Now, I'm not saying we are getting Flying Eagles back, but do you honestly think Don would just casually tell you "Yup, they are definitely making a comeback next year. Don't ruin the surprise for everyone else" ? I think if a professional Public Relations official wanted to keep such a thing secret, they would be able to make a convincing denial without saying "No, it won't happen". My thoughts would be that if we were getting Flying Scooters, his response would be more along the lines of "details of our ride linuep for 2014 will be fully released later on as we approach opening day." Stock PR response that neither reveals nor denies anything specific. And then someone would hear that and come on this forum and declare that Banshee was a giant diversion and the REAL flagship addition for 2014 will be a green Intamin Giga Coaster and that they're going to tear down Vortex to build it since it's obviously sinking anyway.

Now, while nobody has eaten AT Chick-Fil-A on a Sunday, some of us have eaten Chick-Fil-A food on a Sunday. For the record, it doesn't fare so well after being microwaved.

Might you say that they mangled the Mangels Whip cars? -

Any proof to back that up? Your claim just sounds like a pile of crap to me. -
The Basheecam is 300 feet in the air, fully exposed to the elements from all sides. The others are much lower to the ground, so they have other structures within the park blocking the elements from them to some degree.

Once, I saw a bunch of people on a Kings Island fan site insisting that they're going to build a set of Flying Scooters where the old Action Zone circle was. Talk about crazy!

99.99% of the time, jobs such as painting a large ride, the jobs are contracted out. What I think he was wondering is whether the decision to repaint came from the park or the manufacturer. Skycoaster rides are strictly overseen by the manufacturer, so it's possible this was the decision of the manufacturer. Sorry if I'm putting words in anyone's mouth, though.

My fondest KI memory was actually a ride. Specifically, my first ride on Vortex. (No, I'm not going to go into a spiel about my undying love for Vortex. Maybe some other time.) My first ever ride on Vortex happened in 2010. Don't know the date, but I'd guess it was in May. I was there with my (now ex) girlfriend and she was introducing me to coasters. I had been afraid of "big boy" coasters until that point, and she was trying to get me past that. (Nothing like trying to impress a significant other to make you face your fears). I had ridden Flight of Fear and Firehawk, and we had decided to go to the main part of Coney Mall next, so we headed to Vortex. As I was on the part of the queue over the brake run, I noticed my friend Jeremy (who had been my best friend since practically infancy) on the train coming into the station. We headed out of the line so we could meet him before riding. He joined our group for my first ride on Vortex. After that, he just became part of our coaster group. He was my coaster buddy from then on, every time I was at Kings Island, he was in the group. Vortex was a mutual favorite of our group. She was our "classy lady". I don't remember how that happened. I believe it was the result of someone saying Vortex was rough and one of us retorting, "Don't talk about Vortex that way! She is a classy lady!". But I digress. Jeremy was killed in a car accident on July 4th, 2011. To this day, that has been the worst day of my life. That was also the day that Vortex became irreplaceable as my favorite coaster ever. On that same day, you may recall that Vortex's chain broke, and it didn't operate for several weeks. It just seemed to fit. It was as if Vortex was mourning with us. It was very difficult for me to go to Kings Island after that. On my first trip back to Kings Island after the incident, I was an emotional wreck. Fortunately, the same girlfriend was there with me, and while it was very difficult for both of us, I think we needed to go, and we both needed one another for the emotional support. I believe it was the only time in my adult life that I have cried in public. And at an amusement park no less. I got a lot of weird looks that day. And then that evening, the two of us got our first ever night ride on WindSeeker. We were both miserable in line and then for reasons unknown to us, there was a delay for about 10 minutes that stopped them from dispatching the ride one cycle before ours. We were frustrated to say the least. Eventually, we got to ride. As we got up the tower, we heard a booming sound, and then it hit us. Due to the random delay, our cycle got pushed back such that it started right at 10:00. And so, we got the fireworks ride. It was the most wonderful ride of my life, and we were convinced that Jeremy was in heaven pulling strings for us to make that happen. Since then, WindSeeker has joined Vortex as one of the most special rides anywhere to me. If you haven't already, I highly recommend trying to get the fireworks ride on WindSeeker. It is absolutely the best night ride in the park (yes, better than Beast at night in my opinion). Eventually it got easier to visit the park, and now the emotional pain is mostly behind me. For a while, I wondered if this made me a bad friend for putting it all behind me so easily. But then, amazingly enough, I heard some words of wisdom from a fictitious character of all people. I would type out the quote, but I think a clip would do better. The quote was actually pertaining to lost family members, but I think it can relate to lifelong friends, too: And thanks to Doctor Who, that's how I learned to stop worrying and love the Island (again). I hope nobody has to go through what I did. But if I'm to be completely honest, the entire experience made me a better person on almost every level.

The official "Bring the Flying Eagles home" thread.

Stricker's Grove is in scenic Ross, Ohio. And by scenic, I mean populated mostly by cornfields. Regardless, Stricker's Grove may be a tiny park, but it is one of the finest of its size in the land, with one of the finest wooden coasters I've ever ridden. -
I see nothing yet that makes me believe it will be a set of Flyers. Plus, I really, really think that we're FAR too late into the offseason to begin adding a ride of any size.

Holiday World's Flying Scooters aren't nearly as disappointing as the ones at Stricker's. -Homestar92, feeling bad for bashing something at the spectacular Stricker's Grove -
And some of us will be riding Banshee on April 17th, either because of the Scream for A Kid Again fundraiser, or because of Media Day.
-
Why leave them on in the offseason? Seems like a great way to throw away money with their electric bill. Though I'm sure when compared to building a $20+ Million coaster, powering a few lights for a few months is laughably cheap.

Hush y'all! I want it to be Banshee's Under-station so that On-Location can be repurposed as the queue for a set of Flying Scooters!

As someone who has only ever gone through one Haunt more than once (Madame Fatale's), I can tell you that it isn't just our jadedness making us speak negatively. Many of the Haunts are extremely lackluster, even on the first time through. -Homestar92, who wants back the 3 hours he invested in Tombstone Terror-Tory, but would happily go for another trip through Slaughterhouse.

From Kings Island's official Twitter account: Coaster Connection in Action Zone is where you'll find Banshee souvenirs and apparel during your visits to the park this year. Found here: https://twitter.com/KingsIslandPR/status/438802964128739328 Looks like we have a new shop called Coaster Connection. The question is, will this be the former On-Location shop, or the under-station of Banshee?

On Google Earth, there's a clock icon that lets you roll back to an older set of photos. No need to hoard screenshots!

What Live Shows Can We Expect In The 2014 Season?

If you are attending a University, it may behoove to ask your school's Career Services (or equivalent) department about professional headshots. Some schools (mine included) offer them for free periodically. -
Carowinds Living Social Deal
homestar92 replied to gad198's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Carowinds is a wonderful park. It's my 3rd favorite that I've ever been to, right under Kings Island and Kennywood. -
Let's not forget, Banshee also has to have obscenely exaggerated height or else it will clash with the rest of the map. Chicken Shack and parking lot improvements will likely not actually be visibly different on the map. Also, the target wasn't on the 2013 map.
-
I've got it! On Location will be repurposed to house the queue for the new Flying Scooters, while the under-station of Banshee will take its job of selling merchandise! -homestar92, putting out a sarcasm warning before anyone actually thinks he's serious.

As poorly as I think families would take to that name, I'm a man who enjoys a good pun. Well played, sir!
