  1. It seems as if every era of Kings Island has some sort of prominent theme region. Whether it be a waterpark, or a theme park addition, it seems as both have certain eras. Many of the older stock here would remember the Hanna-Barberra era, filled with Yogi Bear and Scooby Doo, others would remember Nick and Snoopy taking over in the 2000's. So, in light of the recent Time Machine poll, which era was the best theme/character era at Kings Island? PLEASE NOTE: You can choose multiple answers for multiple areas and eras.
  2. It's a 3 in one deal: Advertise for the Kings Dominion, show how similar it is and how much fun can be had here as well. Advertise for Kings Island, the thrills and fun of Kings Dominion, and so much more are to be had here. Advertising for Hanna-Barberra, show off their characters and that one could experience all of their favorite childhood favorites at both parks. It's a simple yet very strategic aim to get guests from Virginia and the surrounding areas to come to both properties.
  3. Now, they must make a machine gun themed launched coaster!
  4. Hand Stamp has been necessary for all the seasons prior I believe, or at least that is what I have always done.
  5. Given their limited space and the monetary expenses given: Not much. The attractions they just added look similarly to road side attractions, but it works. I could see them going for a compact coaster, a Euro Fighter maybe, to go in where the stage is in the far back. Other than that this park is packed. Maybe a water attraction to be added? Not sure on that due to, again, space is now an essential key stone to Kentucky Kingdom. If they want to expand, they need to buy out the space adjacent to the park, to then add in more attractions and more festivities.
  6. Oh I know that, but to keep up speculation. It's like a vague idea of a Christmas Present, put it out there and keep the public interested.
  7. I am supposed to be excited on a ball, which i really don't care about, that probably costs me 6 bucks? Give some hints on Kingdom 7 at least! That's better PR, give some bait and get more bites, or likes for that matter.
  8. This year the Seattle SeaHawks and The New England Patriots battled it out for the SuperBowl title. But many also watch for the advertisements, as they too are prime entertainment for the whole game. This year though had an interesting twist, having some great ones, and others, not so much. So, this week's poll is to discuss the Ads for this year, were they great? Which ones? Were they terrible? Which ones?
  9. Cedar Point took a nose Dive this year. They lost their title handed in the Golden foil. Now I won't Dive into it any further as I have yet to get to the park, but i will say that I would like to be a Fighter, maybe a Euro?
  10. For the past couple of weeks I have been asking mainly park related questions, so this week and the upcoming weeks I think I will give them a brake (yes I meant that kind of brake) run and put up some other genres of polls. Going with the genre, this week will be about your music genre. What kind of music do you listen to? What kind of music do you feel most suits your personality? Any favorite bands?
  11. Every year enthusiasts have to hunker down and wait out the off season. But not at a few parks like Cedar Point. So, which park would you go to for a winter tour? (I have been uber busy this week, it has been insane.)
  12. Hey, I have been riding that donkey for a while, but politically speaking, I have to ride an Elephant. I feel changing winds if Kentucky Kingdom cannot draw the Kentucky crowd, it cannot rely on word of mouth. It has to expand, even if it means going into foggy mountains (Hopefully it will break down), add more events, add more things to bring in more crowds. Otherwise it's hitting the toilet soon, if it cannot change and produce revenue for the state and the area, the elephants are coming, the Republic is coming!
  13. Exactly, commercials. I am driving down the highway, or maybe I stop in Lexington, driving around, I may see a sign for Creation Museum, or maybe a local venue. But I am also looking for theme parks, I don't see any if i am just passing through looking for something to do. It is just very bizarre how KK isn't reaching out to the Kentuckians, but rather in a market where they will scrape up little to no revenue compared to the other markets in Kentucky.
  14. I can assure you that outside of the Louisville districts, there is no advertising of Kentucky Kingdom. Also, in one of the booming markets, NKY, it has yet to see a Kentucky Kingdom advertisement, and many in the region do not even know of its' opening. Only by word of mouth or by people actually going to Louisville is how people are getting this information. I really expected to see more KK signs going through KY, Florence, Lexington even, but none are there.
  15. I actually have a Super 8 MM film projector that I am working on at the moment (I cannot get the bulb changed out). May head on over to NewPort for some of these old films.
  16. Some see his viewpoints on Kings Island as "Cedar Point: South". Placing coasters and thrill rides over theming put a sour taste in enthusiasts. Also, his "parting gift" with the new waterpark too made some re-think what exactly is needed at Kings Island, and what isn't. I'm not saying that I hated the man nor that I liked him because honestly, that's not my place to state. He did wonders with Cedar Point, and made it one of the roller coaster meccas, while he also made strides to save a failing company and get some of the land consolidated for the future of the chain market. He did what he did to ensure that the parks could do what they do best: deliver fun. He left a precedent that Cedar Fair holdings still hold dear; to build the best for the park and make better of their attractions and locations. But was his methods orthodox? Or better yet, was his strides really for the right move? That's really up to you to decide, as it is different from person to person.
  17. I actually heard of this site before, being a Disney Enthusiast, you have to get information somehow. Cool articles, and some detailed rumours. But will I be applying? More than likely not as I am far too busy to write these pieces.
  18. I could imagine it now, Keys To The Kingdom*, coming to a movie theater near you! *Kentucky Kingdom I see what you're saying Terp, and I am not expecting KK to really have a good year if they cannot get more than 600k. I wonder, what are the attendance records for Beech Bend? Or better yet, that small little park on the River.
  19. Well you see a long time ago..... (And it would be that figuratively everybody is in eachother's shoes or sandals at one point or another in their lives, that's poetry at it's finest)
  20. Look sharp, and be honest. I remember being in your shoes, it's a new way of seeing things and being a part of the fun at Kings Island. I do hope you get the job, and I do wish you the best of luck!
  21. I like it how they refer to HCB as "The Bay" oh the nostalgia, and oh the confusion to the commoner. Look, I like the park, it's small but it has some attractions that I like. I just don't understand how is it that Hart is trying to bring in less than a million visitors, I mean come on I'm sure that Tri-County gets more visitors than KK! The State Fair alone should allow guests into the park and have a broad spectrum of guests to enter and make some hard cash or KK will flop. Bad juju here, bad bad bad, I smell a flood coming, an Ark too?
  22. I'm sorry but all of this CoasterMania! talk is making me get a little bit of Lisztomania . I would just like to send a special thanks for you guys for continuing to respond to my polls, the months may turn to weeks, and from weeks to days, but the poll will still continue all the way up to the Opening Day 2015!
  23. When you ride an escalator, and get to the top, to hear it sounding like a chain link at the top of a roller coaster.
  24. One of the best ways to ride a coaster, or go to events, is to go with a group. That's the premise of Coaster Clubs: To meet fellow enthusiasts and to participate in exclusive events. So, following this light, what Coaster Club are you a part of?
  25. I'm still waiting for FLASHBACK: 40's, Big Band Swing, now THAT will be the show that I would actually sit down and watch. Other than that, I am not really a big person on the shows, I just don't do that.
